According to SSA Name List, Jade (for males) finally broke the Top 1,000 in 2001, when it was #960. Jade (for females), has been in the top 139 since 2000......most of the time it is in the top 115.
I wouldn't give my son a name that was that popular for females, just like I wouldn't give my daughter the middle name that is popular for males. But that is just me. If I heard Noah Jade, I would wonder if it was a girl with the masculine first name, or if it was a boy, with a feminine middle name.
Sadly if this was for a girl people would probably be all omg totes! Honestly Jade is unisex as its a gemstone but yes people assume it to be feminine more. I don't think it's bad in the middle and kinda like it. The middle name is usually represented by initial only anyhow. However great suggestions by @Bringmemylongswordho
I'm just curious as to why you are looking for a unique middle name to go with Noah which was literally #1 for 2014 (and im sure will be super high for 2015 when the list comes out.) Not trying to be judgey at all, I am more concerned that maybe you didn't realize Noah was so insanely popular, so i just wanted to ask. My cousin never ever looked into it and named her son Liam having no idea it was so popular and despite that shes never out right said it, i think she kind of regrets not knowing especially since Malachi was her number 2 choice. One of my most favorite names was super high and i was bummed to learn it was, and that caused me and DH to pass it over because we just weren't into super popular names since both of us had uncommon names for our generations and liked not having to go by our last initial in school.
That being said i personally have no issue with Jade mn. How often is a middle name REALLY used or said. I think its kind of neat.
