@simcal18 I have a mabis and I do the same thing, the first temp was the temp I took that day and then it always shows 97.70 before flashing lo for look. It flashes really quickly!

@korycir - Agree with others that it may be an O dip.
@businesswife - Thanks for the encouragement/support. I'm only 5 feet tall, I have a desk job, and my metabolism sucks, so 1200ish calories is where I need to be if I want to lose 1.5-2 pounds a week, even though I'm pretty significantly overweight right now. I will occasionally have 1300-1400 calorie days to shake things up a bit and keep my metabolism from getting too sluggish, and I get a no-holds-barred cheat meal about once every other week, but generally losing weight is really, really hard for me. I've done it several times before (unfortunately), so I know what I need to do -- I'm just frustrated that I'm not where I want to be for TTC right now.
@bcooke314 - I have an iproven BBT. I tested it out several times this morning and the only temp that was coming up was 97.70, regardless of what I knew the prior temp was, so I'm pretty confident that the recall last temp feature is just not working.

@simcal18 I have the same thermometer and mine does that too (but it's 36.5 (Celsius)). I am always too excited to know my temp though so look at it as soon as it's done and log it in FF. It's BS that the recall fxn doesn't work but I can't be bothered complaining/sending it back/ whatever. I hope you can see a temp shift now that you know!
@bcooke314 that is an awesome New Years resolution! I should suggest that to my husband because he gets so angry at ignorant stuff on the Internet haha

@mokay19 It is has made me a much happier person lol. I also got the Chrome extension that let's you hide certain things on Facebook (I think it's called Facebook Purity or something) and used it to hide all those news articles on the side of the page because that's where I would get caught up reading comments and getting really mad.
@BusinessWife yeah... I realistically have a good 60 to go. But I am trying not to think about the actual number because it is daunting. Before my wedding we did a weight loss completion with my family that I ran. It was based on percentages lost and we all out money on it. I didn't end up winning but my dad got super competitive and ended up losing a much needed 50lbs. It was great to see that.
I have tried the 21 day fix in the past and it showed some results but it just got overwhelming (I went nuts wth meal plans and spreadsheets). I need to go back to something simple like my fitness pal just to track calories and keep in check.
@businesswife thanks for your kind words and suggestions. Unfortunately, we've talked it to death. He's come up with several varying reasons--the pressure of TTC, he's getting older, we had sex too often during FW (which, btw, was 5 times at EOD) and there's nothing left, etc. I even asked if it would help if I didn't tell him when fertile time was, but he knows we are TTC so he said anytime I initiate sex he'll know. Also, we normally have sex like once every month or every other month...so having it 5 times in a month IS a lot. I don't think there is an easy solution. And normally I like it that way (but not when trying to make a baby! )
@cjt121413 good luck with FPU! I've looked into the program. H and I have gotten pretty into budgeting, but have decided to live with our big student loans while saving instead of taking DR's approach.
@kristah2 hooray for getting settled after a big move! That must be such a relief.
@JamieK1882 I'm so sorry about you and H having a tough time. I haven't attempted EOD sex yet because I'm pretty sure H's response might be similar. Just trying to get in one or two instances of decent timing for now.
@Marley 629 yes I'm freaking out a little. I really shouldn't be since I live pretty far north, but not too far from the Northern range of one of the mosquitoes. @MrsJ2410 the teeth resolution is such a great idea! H and I both slouched when we were without dental in our 20's and are paying for it with huge dental bills now.
@MamaMunn and @LizaKate1213 good luck with the budgeting! It took us a while to get in the groove but now I'm so glad we do it.
@QueenDaenerysT good for you for drawing lines with your "friend." That is something I could be much better at myself.
@virginiaham codeine cough syrup is magical when you really need it. Glad you could get some sleep!
@simcal18 the "remember temp" function on my thermometer does that too! I just have to make myself record it right away.
@BusinessWife you sound so organized! Part of my problem is that the laundry is in my chilly basement so folding it down there is pretty much out. I have been dragging it up and folding it while I watch tv. Also working on getting rid of old clothes so create more space and organize my drawers.
@bcooke314 that's such a good idea not to read the comments. Sometimes they're just such a train wreck I can't look away, but it gets me sidetracked and isn't really healthy.
@mokay19 I don't know much about provera but hope all goes as it is supposed to!
WAYDTGKU: PNV, CM, waiting for a call back from RE with plan for this month, but I am expecting it to be a second round of clomid 100mg.
R/R/CS: RANT: MY digestive system is definitely heavily influenced by hormones. My tummy isn't happy with AFs arrival today. I feel gross. RAVES: I have been sure I wasn't going to get a BFP since 10dpo, so I am not feeling upset things didn't work out last cycle which is good. Happy to be getting a fresh start on a new cycle today. DH has been so supportive and great the last month trying to make things less clinical despite all the trips to the RE, watching timing etc. I told him he didn't need to go with me to appointments where there was really nothing going on except a check and discussing plans for next visit, but he was there with me every time. We missed the timing to determine if a IUI was in order though. Somehow he's managed to shirk having to do this thing in a cup twice now. I think that might be hard for him & cause some serious performance anxiety!
GTKY: I try not to don't do the whole resolution thing. I feel like it is just asking to set myself up to disappoint & doesn't really motivate me.
@Xstatic3333 I have been doing it at home, following videos online. I would NEVER be able to do commit to doing something everyday outside of the my house. It's bad enough that I have to show up to work 5 days out of the week.
@Xstatic3333 I have been doing it at home, following videos online. I would NEVER be able to do commit to doing something everyday outside of the my house. It's bad enough that I have to show up to work 5 days out of the week.
That's awesome! I've always had a tough time motivating myself to work out at home. Part of me finds spending a little money (nothing crazy-my studio is a good deal) helps me commit.
R/R/CS: Rant - hubby had performance anxiety again last night... Rave/CS: I had a low temp today, so dotted CHs were taken away which I was hoping for because I was pretty sure I didn't O on CD8. So hopefully O is on its way!
GTKY: Borrowed from yesterday's TWW, did you make any resolutions for this year? If so, how are you doing with them? If not, are there any resolutions you would like to make post-new year? I don't really buy into resolutions, so none. I do however need to lose some weight and work on stress management.
@korycir Yes, essentially. For me, it drops steadily over several days during AF, then may rise again right after, often with a noticeable upward "spike". Then it starts to come down again, but often in a downward-trending zig-zag as O approaches, and then the very lowest dip is generally quite low the day of/before O which makes for a steep spike UP signifying the O happened. They say three consecutive temps higher than the previous six temps to confirm O. But again, that pattern may not be 100% true for me from one cycle to the next, (I'm not sure I always get that dramatic rise after AF, but I did this month), and of course, my patterns may not be the same as your body's. You will start to get a better feel for what your body naturally does the more cycles you chart. As for the possibility of them running low b/c you're mouth breathing, I don't temp vaginally so I wouldn't know anything about that. But as long as you can see the temp shift leading up to and after O, I think that's what matters.
@atcwag I had a crazy upward spike after AF on CD7. Looks like maybe you had similar? I never noticed that was a thing before, but I think I randomly read it over the past couple days and wondered if I had ever noticed. <img title="Image: https://us.v-cdn.net/5020794/uploads/editor/ub/bxl67ale8hzc.jpg" src="https://us.v-cdn.net/5020794/uploads/editor/ub/bxl67ale8hzc.jpg" alt="" height="482" width="361"> <img src="https://global.thebump.com/ticker?TT=ttc&TT1=ttc&CL=28&CT=D&CG=T&O=m_nestbirds&T=t_ttc12&D=2016-01-17&M1=14&D1=&T2=&T1=&T3=&CC=4&CO=FFFFFF&CO2=&W=C&TS=&R=&SC=green" alt="">
R/R/CS: Weaning is continuing to go surprisingly smoothly. I'm honestly not too hopeful for this cycle since it looks like it will be another long one, but I'm hoping DS will be completely weaned by the time my next one starts and that will mean I'll really start getting more regular.
GTKY: Borrowed from yesterday's TWW, did you make any resolutions for this year? If so, how are you doing with them? If not, are there any resolutions you would like to make post-new year? Not really, I guess I made a commitment to get healthier as far as eating better, working out, and giving myself more "me" time for my emotional health. I've been doing pretty well sticking to that.
@korycir the time difference can easily have an effect on your temp. If I temp an hour or more later than usual, then my temp is significantly higher. I would guess that the temp fluctuation wouldn't look so dramatic if the earlier temps were taken at your usual time. If your sleep is erratic, then it would make sense for temps to be erratic. Keep temping this cycle and track CM, and see if you can see a temp shift. I know it's hard not to analyze every little thing on your chart, but it really is best to see the whole big picture before jumping to conclusions. My charts can be out of whack in the beginning too, but once I ovulate then it's clear where my pre-O temps range and where the post-O temps range. Hope that helps!
@LizaKate1213 I would record the positive regardless of when you get it for that day. The reason why it's recommended to test at different times during the day is so that you don't miss your surge if you are ovulating at a different time of the day. It takes a while for the LH to build and get to your urine (from my understanding), so usually if your surge actually happens in the morning, it will show up positive in your afternoon test. (someone go ahead and correct me if I am explaining this wrong!) If your surge is short and you only test in the morning, then you might miss it if you don't test in the afternoon. FWIW, I've gotten positive OPKs with FMU.
@xstatic3333 that's a good idea. I already can tell we started too early this month. I know O can change any time, but based on this month, I feel a little safer starting later next month in hopes we won't have to BD as much.
I'm asking here because LuLaRoe has been mentioned a few times...anyone want to join an online event? Person who invites the most people who join gets some free leggings...so I could use those. Haha. Let me know If anyone is interested.
GTKY:

resolutions you would like to make post-new year? I didn't make a resolution per se. I just told myself I'd keep up the good work with my efforts to eat healthy and such that I'd been working on for the past 6 months or so. It's going well so far.
Me: 28 Husband: 31 TTC#1: January 2015- September 2016 Infertility, Recurrent Pregnancy Loss Rainbow baby born June 6, 2017 ❤️
@JamieK1882 - you could still "attend" and not purchase anything. Haha, it's not my party so I don't care if people actually buy anything. I'm just in it for the free leggings for whomever invites the most people.
@cjt121413 - I feel you, DH works late all the nights, and doesn’t really understand why I can’t stay up late.
@kristah2 - I’ve done the cross country move a couple of times (though once was just on the way to college, so that one wasn’t a big deal), and i have to say I hope to never to it again. FX that everything is in good shape when it gets in and that the day goes well!
@Megzb510 - I couldn’t figure out a way to say that some charts were oral and others were vaginal. So far, my temps have been just as rocky vaginally, but I didn’t really think I was mouth breathing was the issue. Most people seem to see more level temps though, so don’t let me saying that discourage you! Oh, and I should add that even though the chart still seems rocky to me, FF is telling me that my temperature is fluctuating in normal limits this time, which it never has before, so that’s probably a good sign!
@JamieK1882 - I’m sorry that you’re feeling so down. DH and I had to talk that out our second cycle and try to figure out what the root cause is. For us it was that we were trying to speed through it and get to the end result, so slowing down and adding in more foreplay seems to have made things better for the time being. Though I also think just really talking about it while cuddling and trying to keep emotions in check helped just as much. It was kind of a “yeah, this is weird and stressful for BOTH of us” realization moment and it always helps to not feel alone. If your DH is like mine, he isn’t talking to anyone about all this. So I have all you ladies, but DH just has me. I know you feel like you can’t talk to him about it, but once you’ve calmed down a bit, I’d really recommend trying.
@peachykeen17 - I hope the work day finishes quickly.
@Marley629 - Always take everything CNN or any news organization that makes money through advertisement (which is pretty much all of them) with a grain of salt. Their #1 goal is not to inform you, but rather to get you to watch more of them. They will absolutely play on your emotions (and fear is their favorite) to get you to stick around until the next time they talk about it (usually at LEAST one commercial break away). If they can freak you out and get you to watch it all day, even better. I swear, I’m not a paranoid conspiracy theorist, I just HATE the news, especially TV news! So I guess take what I’m saying here with that grain of salt as well.
@MamaMunn - the week has been a speedy blur for me!
@LizaKate1213 - Yeah, that should be fine. A positive on an OPK is really positive no matter when it happens. Lots of people actually take them multiple times a day in hopes of catching short surges, so I think you’re fine! Plus, you got like five more hours between those two tests, so I would have counted the 9am as FMU or close enough anyway!
@QueenDaenerysT - I took Mucinex after AF last cycle for a cold, and realized it was really helping CM so I kept taking it. And I decided to take it this cycle as well. I’ve taken it for lots of weeks in a row when sick before, so it doesn’t worry me too much, but it absolutely is “off label” so definitely good to be cautious if you can. And I am 100% not a doctor. I hate blood… I’d never make it through any sort of medical training…
@virginiaham - Woohoo! Glad you’re feeling better. And that the codeine cough syrup worked for you… I cannot take the stuff. FX for positive OPKs and O soon!
@simcal18 - that really sucks! I don’t blame you for being upset. *hugs*
@korycir - temps lowering before O is normal, I wouldn’t worry about it at this point. Mine do a gradual lowering down for a few days and then I can sometimes get a dip on top of that for an actual O dip. FX that your temps go up and you can track O reliably this cycle!
@BusinessWife - OMG, that gif is too adorable. Though, I don’t think that you can get KU from just that.
@ashleyluxe - FX for a positive OPK and O soon. Yep, lots of waiting in TTC.
@bcooke314 - I may not be religious myself, but I’m glad that you’re feeling much better!
@mokay19 - FX that the next two days pass quickly and AF isn’t too rough or anything!
@MrsBinPA - Sorry that you’re feeling gross. And for CD1. *hugs* I’m glad that you’re ready to go for the next cycle though.
@atcwag - Sorry that your hubby had performance anxiety again. My response to JamieK1882 above may be helpful for you as well. Glad that your CH are gone and your chart is looking more reasonable again!
@momstahp - FX that weaning continues to go smoothly!
@NamelessAria - OMG that gif is also fantastic. Yay for positive OPK though!

Can I just super politely (hopefully) but firmly say that I would very much prefer that we not start trying to sell each other things and get people to attend our parties on here. I get enough of that on social media, and I'd reallllllly rather not have to deal with it here.

@MrsDho11 - Sorry. Wasn't trying to sell anything. I actually don't care if anyone buys anything. Not my party. Not peddling any wares. Just trying to win some free leggings with the help of people who like LuLaRoe since it's been mentioned on TTGP multiple times. I often "join" parties I'm invited to and just hide posts if I'm not interested. I don't mind helping people out, but I know others feel differently and that's ok too!
@atcwag - I'm not mad, I just *REALLY* don't want this to become a thing. A large part of the reason I've scaled back on social media (and FB) in particular is because everyone is inviting me to their parties all the time, and it's gotten so old. I'd really prefer not to have that start happening here because TB is so helpful for me in other ways!
Edit to just add that it felt like something that I wanted to address early. And I could be alone in this, in which case go ahead, and I'll just have to deal or decide what to do about it.

@JamieK1882 I know how you feel DH had issues before we met (long story involving a bucks party and a lamb ring) he was never supposed to be able to have kids, blew that idea away with DS, but it means that he often can't "get it up" or doesn't finish, and he doesn't really care it's just "it'll happen when it happens" and I'm all just like "you've got a 24hr window for this, your usual idea of sex once a month isn't going to cut it" so that's been frustrating, I know how you feel completely.

Mine is to stop eating so much candy and chocolate. I did break down once for my mom's chocolate chip brownies but otherwise doing ok. I also would like to start working out more but i have not been too successful in that area. I started running in the mornings but by the second week I was utterly exhausted. Hopefully I can get more motivated.

I was doing great with being better about working out but I've slipped the last 10 days or so. Between fighting what feels like a sinus infection and screwing up my foot again, I've been taking it a little easier. Back to the orthopedic tomorrow and hoping I don't end up with my third stress fracture in the same spot
WAYDTGKU: going to be temping and using OPKs again, the cycle I got my + I was not so good at temping, but could see a pattern and confirm the O that the OPKs indicated. Going to try not to obsess over TTC as much as I did before, but many of you know how hard that is to actually do.

@korycir enjoy your new car!
CD: 1 - Booooo

Rant - hubby had performance anxiety again last night...
Rave/CS:
I had a low temp today, so dotted CHs were taken away which I was hoping for because I was pretty sure I didn't O on CD8.
@atcwag I had a crazy upward spike after AF on CD7. Looks like maybe you had similar? I never noticed that was a thing before, but I think I randomly read it over the past couple days and wondered if I had ever noticed.

WAYDTGKU: Charting, OPKs, getting healthy, weaning DS
BFP on 7/2/2013
@LizaKate1213 I would record the positive regardless of when you get it for that day.
BFP on 7/2/2013
I'm asking here because LuLaRoe has been mentioned a few times...anyone want to join an online event? Person who invites the most people who join gets some free leggings...so I could use those. Haha. Let me know If anyone is interested.

WAYDTGKU: All the things.
R/R/CS: Positive OPK so this is me today with DH:
GTKY: Borrowed from yesterday's TWW, did you make any resolutions for this year? If so, how are you doing with them? If not, are there any resolutions you would like to make post-new year? I didn't make a resolution per se. I just told myself I'd keep up the good work with my efforts to eat healthy and such that I'd been working on for the past 6 months or so. It's going well so far.

Infertility, Recurrent Pregnancy Loss

Baby #2 due June 12, 2018
@dogmomwantinghuman - Sounds like fun!
@pretzel2plus1 - FX that the appointment goes well!
@Xstatic3333 - FX for AF moving on soon.
@teamginger13 - Yes! I’m so excited for weekend FW!
@Paturkey - FX for that last high temp in the morning! And that is an impressive coverage of FW. FX when you move over to TWW.
@anj27 - FX for a short cycle then.
@furbabymom2007 - FX that the spotting really has stopped, and that you O at a “normal” time.
@longliveregina - Good call on stopping short of witchcraft!
@sarah0985 - So sorry for CD1. *hugs* FX that you’re able to get in decent timing despite you mom’s visit.
@Zoey1019 - hey, I’ll give you some more FX for a meaningful temp drop and O soon!
@MrsJ2410 - hooray for almost Friday!
@simcal18 - that really sucks!
@MrsBinPA - Sorry that you’re feeling gross.

WAYDTGKU: just temping for now, looking forward to the real action once AF leaves
R/R/CS: Finally getting my hair cut and grey hairs covered up, it was getting bad. I also needed to recently declined a trip to see my cousin's new baby, I would love to meet her i just can't handle it right now.
GTKY: Borrowed from yesterday's TWW, did you make any resolutions for this year? If so, how are you doing with them? If not, are there any resolutions you would like to make post-new year?
Mine is to stop eating so much candy and chocolate. I did break down once for my mom's chocolate chip brownies but otherwise doing ok. I also would like to start working out more but i have not been too successful in that area. I started running in the mornings but by the second week I was utterly exhausted. Hopefully I can get more motivated.
Month/Cycle: 8/7

WAYDTGKU: BBT, PNV, CM, OPKs, HIO
R/R/CS: My temps are all over the place and I finally just tossed my spike yesterday since I woke up sweating and feeling like crap.

I was doing great with being better about working out but I've slipped the last 10 days or so. Between fighting what feels like a sinus infection and screwing up my foot again, I've been taking it a little easier. Back to the orthopedic tomorrow and hoping I don't end up with my third stress fracture in the same spot
Month/Cycle: 1/1 after a loss
CD: ??? not sure right now
WAYDTGKU: going to be temping and using OPKs again, the cycle I got my + I was not so good at temping, but could see a pattern and confirm the O that the OPKs indicated. Going to try not to obsess over TTC as much as I did before, but many of you know how hard that is to actually do.
R/R/CS: Question... so... does CD1 start when my my MC bleeding started or when my true period starts (whenever that may be.)? With my doctor's blessing, I want to jump right back on the horse, so to speak.
Rant: this really sucks...
Rave: my family and friends who know about our loss have been super supportive and I am so glad to have them in my life.
GTKY: Borrowed from yesterday's TWW, did you make any resolutions for this year? If so, how are you doing with them? If not, are there any resolutions you would like to make post-new year?
The only real resolution I made was to try to keep my house cleaner and more organized. I have done and OK job so far, but there is room for improvement.
