Thanks @Emztron500 & @VikingGirl12 I like it so I think I'm just gonna go for it (despite my mom & dh's hesitations)
@courtjack I am in the group, I see some repeat posters between here & the FB group, but there are def a handful that are the very active posters. I still lurk for the most part & comment here & there when I think I can offer helpful advice but I'm still hesitant about putting anything personal about me out there too much attached to my FB profile
I think thought that that was a medicated cycle. If she suspected multiples due to high HCG levels and has an ultrasound at the sac stage, that sounds like reproductive monitoring. We find out we are pregnant through a beta HCG level. I think the article just mentioned the odds of it occurring without ART, but didn't specify that this set was without ART.
She looks beautiful and healthy! love it.

Ooh possibly. I must have just focused on that comment on the first read, but rereading it I guess if they were monitoring her as closely as it seems she was probably under some kind of doctor's supervision from before she even knew she was pregnant.
This morning I left home and realized I forgot my yogurt. I was sad so my DH reached into his bag and gave me his. I was like 'that's so sweet and it's even my favorite flavor'! He said, 'I know, I bought just the flavors you like.'
Then tonight he made me left overs--a baked potato with homemade chili, cheese, avocado, sour cream, and onion.
My twins put themselves in time-out earlier this week, because they "were being mean". (They're two.) I had to leave the room to laugh, then came back and took the matter VERY seriously.

I worked my butt off sleep training my daughter when she was a baby. She was fantastic about it and we had a great and independent sleeper. I have basically undone ALL of that in a matter of weeks. It is impossible to resist a whimpering toddler who is begging you to "come back to me Mommy. Come back to me - I love you. I want to snuggle with your shoulder". LOL. Ahhhhhh well. They're only this little for so long right???

Awww...that WOULD be hard to resist. Pretty sure I couldn't, either.
I scored a barely-used Snoogle from a friend-of-a-friend PLUS a removable/washable soft jersey cover for it for $15! I'm so excited, as I had pretty much resigned myself to needing one and didn't want to fork over the full price. Ahhh...the idea of sleeping comfortably...
@parsonsperson jealous! Report back how you like it?! My DH tried and secretly ordered me a body pillow, but it's too fluffy for my short legs and arms and I move around a lot falling asleep and can't take the body pillow with me...but I'm in need of something!
@junebabyjoy I can already tell you I think they are great! I used to have one that I got for my first pregnancy, but it was lost in a house fire that we had shortly before the baby was born (that was a fun time, let me tell ya!). I even got another one (renter's insurance=awesome), but I gave it away to a friend once I was done with it, and we have since moved to a different state! So anyway...this is my third time getting one. They are excellent. I'm tall, though, so I have long arms and legs. I like that you can position them in a few different ways--behind you, in front with part of it between your knees, etc. They are massive things, though.
@parsonsperson house fire shortly before a baby was born? yikes, that sounds like quite a story!
@junebabyjoy I loved the Snoogle when I had it for my first. Gave it away literally like 3 weeks before I learned I was pregnant this time. Nooooooo! Moving around was sort of an issue as it's massive so I would sleep hugging the long part when I was sleeping on my left side and then sleep leaning on the long part when I was sleeping on my right side. And occasionally I'd just flip the whole thing over and ignore the fact that I was inadvertently beating my husband over the head with it in the process.
@Emztron500 it all worked out in the end, but yeah, it made for a crazy few weeks leading up to the birth! We were living in a duplex, and there was an electrical fire at 5 in the morning. Everybody made it out safely, but the place was rendered unlivable. We did manage to salvage some of our things--I had just received a lot of baby shower gifts, but thankfully, those were stored in the would-be nursery that was mostly spared the major water/fire/collapsed ceiling damage (except for smoke damage and soot...) and we were able to salvage many things that were still packaged. Plus, renter's insurance came through nicely. We found another place to live very quickly, and we learned that we really don't need much in terms of material goods. In the end, I would say it was one of those times in our lives and our marriage where we realized that with each other (and our sense of humor) we can tackle anything.
@MsBeachNJ (and others) what's the point of team green if you want to make sure the baby is dressed and even strollered to show their gender? Why not just find out and save yourself the extra work?
I may be too new to the baby world, but for me team green means that you don't care about the gender and will try to start gender-neutral with clothing and gear choices? As in, using less blue and pink from team blue or team pink?
Either way I love blue and think it works great for a girl too!
@lynnernon I'm sure that may be it for some, but I always interpreted it as parents who want the surprise as part of the birth of experience. I don't care about the sex and plan on being pretty gender neutral across the board raising mine, but I wanted to find out as early as possible just to know--so there might not be a correlation btwn timing.
@parsonsperson so sorry that happened but bravo on your and your H's ability to build from it and focus on each other. Bravo!
@lynnernon team green for us only means that were not finding out sex until the surprise at delivery, it has nothing to do with how we'll raise our babies or how we'll dress them once their born. As for the stroller, I'm trying to purchase a color that works for either sex as this is our first but we intend to have 2-3 children if all goes well.
I'm going to have an awe moment here. Excuse me. Bought my first *completely new* baby girl item today (I try to buy gently used as much as possible i.e. trash bag of clothes for $10). I'm pretty sure I almost died of happiness. Also our gender announcement. Ok. I'm done . Back to randomness
Last night after skating academy classes, one of my students parents was behind me walking to the parking structure. She calls out my name, saying "coach, wait up! (Students name) has a question for you" and as I turned around, the mom was shocked! Apparently she had no clue I'm pregnant, and proceeds to explode with excitement..... A little embarrassing, but she was sweet about it.
Just found out how much day care will cost us in the city where we are moving. How the fuck do people afford kids?! And I can't even have a beer to wash down the sad acceptance of our new-found poverty. This kid better be awesome...

Day care for us is basically going to cost my salary. I make a pittance (yay grad school stipends?) but man is it depressing.

Daycare is equal to or sometimes even more than an average mortgage in our area...it IS depressing. They better send our kid back covered in gold every day.
Ew, there's a gross thread on 2nd tri about a 16 year old and her 28 year old fiancé. Sigh....the poor girl has no clue.
Just went and read the thread. Poor girl has no idea what she's really in for. Hopefully she opens up her eyes and figured out that this is clearly a toxic relationship and she needs to get out!

Not only is she 16, he has 2 kids from a previous woman and she wants to have them stay in their walk in closet with the baby when they visit.
I....what?!?! I sincerely hope this is a made up post, and some poor 16 year old girl isn't really in this situation. How terrible.
I just read through a few of her discussions...I cannot even begin to imagine going through any of that at 16. She's still a kid herself! I feel so bad for her...things are not going to work out the way she's hoping...

This woman is having quintuplets that she conceived naturally....
Good grief. I feel like I can't ever complain about being uncomfortable ever again (but I will).

How can I repay this man?!?!!?!
Or at least that what my DH would say
Also, I made Whopper Chocolate Chip Cokkies tonight. Devine.
