Ew, there's a gross thread on 2nd tri about a 16 year old and her 28 year old fiancé. Sigh....the poor girl has no clue.
Not only is she 16, he has 2 kids from a previous woman and she wants to have them stay in their walk in closet with the baby when they visit.
I....what?!?! I sincerely hope this is a made up post, and some poor 16 year old girl isn't really in this situation. How terrible.
I just read through a few of her discussions...I cannot even begin to imagine going through any of that at 16. She's still a kid herself! I feel so bad for her...things are not going to work out the way she's hoping...
Exactly right. She's just a kid. She should be worried about math homework and what lip gloss matches her tshirt, not whether to put her 28 year old fiancé's name on her baby's birth certificate.
A little late back to the thread, but thanks for the explanation @MsBeachNJ and @HBamama2B It was nice to see the 2 of them side by side too since ya'll have the 2 preferences I was trying to mush together into one. DH and I have another week till our A/S (scheduled at 20w4d) and haven't quite made up our minds. I think we're similar to @HBamama2B in that we want to do a lot of gender neutral, but might be curious to know before birth.
And now off to the 2nd Tri boards to catch up on the drama...
OP came back. Apparently it's a walk-in closet and the step kids don't sleep in there all the time so all is well. Me reading that thread:
I don't know what I was expecting from a 16 year old after all but I'm still disappointed. I just feel really sorry for all of those kids (including the mom-to-be).
I want to be all "yeah reform" when I first saw this...but then I remembered it would mean maternity cuts for the Navy and Marines who had 18 weeks (and the Army and Air Force were likely going to follow suit with the Navy) So sad that these mostly old, white men decided to do something only when it seemed like progress was on its way.
I had a meeting with the equivalent to our company president today. And my bump was pushing all my existing fat to my love handles, so, Spanx. I never got maternity ones...

I have some from Motherhood. I love them so much I used them between pregnancies as well because they smooth out the legs/hips without pushing on the belly!
Is it possible to die of being tired? I feel like my days are numbered. Does anyone want to borrow my kid for a few days while I sleep for 48 hours solid?

ha! you make me laugh out loud.
and I will totally borrow your kid, because I think she will occupy MY kid so I don't have to continue to dance the hokey pokey repeatedly for hours on end.
@Emztron500 and @CourtJack I read something somewhere recently about putting your kids in a walk in closet... pretty sure they'd have enough room to hokey pokey in there!

If it is MUD it is really good MUD since she isn't a post and run kind of person. That makes me think it is real unfortunately...which also makes me very very sad.

Could be an AE just having fun? In any case, not sure how I feel about a poster recommending she get familiar with her BMB.....seeing as how that'd be us.

You sure it would be us? She could be due in July too, or did I miss her saying when she was due?
Well ladies I passed my NCLEX so I am officially an RN! I'm so happy and excited. I have a meeting with a nurse manager today about a job offer. The schedule would be Sunday-Thursday day shift which I think is great. Hubs on the other hand is throwing a massive fit because he works Mon-Fri and wants me to have the same exact schedule. He has no idea how hard it is to nail down a Mon-Fri 8-5 as a new grad with no experience. And here is the real kicker this position offered me 12 weeks maternity leave and I'm guaranteed to get my job back. I will be working for this company for only four months before I'm due so they are not obligated to be so gracious. I just wish hubs could be happy and realize how amazing this job offer really is.
@wsu2015 congrats! That sounds like an awesome freaking offer - both shift wise and the fact that they're offering you Maternity leave as a newbie. It sounds like you'll still have Saturdays off together and Sunday nights. Hopefully he'll come around.
@WSU2015 don't a lot of nurses get on call and night shifts and on the weekends when they start? I think your schedule sounds awesome. As does the 12 weeks!! Congrats!!

ETA: I went back to confirm that's what I read....she said it in a different post. I stalked her past replies. No shame.
