Hello, let me introduce myself first..
For the first 30 years of my life, everything was smooth and worry-free. I was my parents’ most beloved child, found my true love in college, and happily married him after graduation.
At work, I was my boss’s most valued employee. Whenever I was in charge of a project, colleagues would inevitably say, “Oh, then I’m totally at ease.” I was constantly named “Employee of the Year,” with generous bonuses every year.
Later, I started my own business. Within just three months, I had broken into the market and started making money. By the fifth month, I was earning twice my previous salary. Growth was steady month after month. Right when the business needed more hands, I serendipitously met an amazing partner, and the company reached a whole new level.
Really, it seemed like at every step, whatever I needed, a pair of hands would always place it right in front of me, just in time.
My Two Girls: Ellie & Mia
Meet Ellie, My Firstborn
In 2020, my husband and I decided to have a child. After trying for over a year, we finally got the news in 2021 that a little one was on the way. In 2022, we welcomed our first child, Ellie. She made me a mother.
She is utterly adorable—big eyes, rosy skin, chubby little hands. Every time I look at her, I can’t help but give her a kiss. She is pure joy, and I love her more each day.
But as a first-time mom, I faced unprecedented difficulties. The postpartum tearing wouldn’t heal, and the pain was excruciating. Clogged milk ducts made my breasts hard as rocks. The severe sleep deprivation… And what was even more crushing was that, with zero parenting experience, I was clueless when faced with her unexplained wailing, night terrors, refusal to nurse, constipation, diarrhea, fevers… I desperately searched online, longing for one accurate, truly useful answer!
It was during this time that I thought, once I make it through this “dark” path, I must leave a light on for other new moms.
And Then Came Mia
Ellie had just turned one when I got pregnant again. In 2024, we welcomed our second daughter, Mia.
Completely different from Ellie, Mia is a great eater and sleeper. Although she had her fussy moments in the first two months, starting almost from month three, she became super easygoing. She feeds on schedule, gradually sleeps through the night, loves her solid foods, and adapted quickly when I had to stop breastfeeding due to mastitis.
This made me realize just how vastly different babies can be! It made me even more determined to write about my experiences.
Why I Had to Start This Blog
The Catalyst: A Life Pivoted
After Mia was born, my business also began to decline sharply. I had no choice but to close it and become a full-time mom. My work no longer involves Excel and Word, but instead revolves around changing diapers, washing bottles, making baby food, and managing household chores…
This has been a monumental challenge for me. All my past achievements seem irrelevant now. Managing two young children has brought me a sense of frustration I’ve never known before.
The Daily Reality
They are always fighting over things. When one is in my arms, the other immediately demands to be held too. When I try to cook, Ellie wants me to read her a book. When I attempt to load the washing machine, Mia has a diaper blowout, and I must drop everything to change her…
By the time I finish all that, I see the cup of hot coffee on the table has gone cold again. And it’s not until evening that I remember, “Oh my goodness, the clothes are still in the hamper, unwashed!”
Of course, being a mom is filled with happiness, but that doesn’t negate how hard it is.
My Promise to You
Because I’ve walked this path myself, I won’t just tell you how joyful motherhood is, like many websites do. I want to share my real, unfiltered experiences so every new mom can find a “companion” here.
I want to tell you: you are not alone. What you’re going through, I’ve been there too. Your breakdowns, your helplessness, your moments of losing control—I’ve had them all. You don’t need to feel guilty. This is just a small, necessary stretch of the journey for every mom.
My Hope for This Space
I really want to share my parenting experiences—not just the warm, glowing moments, but to honestly document the pitfalls I’ve stumbled into, the tears I’ve shed, and the “survival wisdom” I’ve scraped together in utter exhaustion.
The Goal: A Mom’s Toolkit
I hope this blog becomes a “mom’s toolkit,” filled not with vague theories, but with:
- Practical Tips: Like how to quickly figure out why a baby is crying, tried-and-true methods for dealing with clogged ducts, or how to efficiently manage the daily grind with twins (or two under two) solo.
- Pitfall Avoidance Guides: Sharing the baby products I regret buying the most, and those “game-changer” parenting hacks. Letting you know which parenting anxieties you can let go of, and which principles are worth holding onto.
- A Community for Moms: I hope my stories connect me with more moms like you. We can cheer each other on in the comments, share our own tricks, turning the storms we face alone into a journey we walk together.
The Bigger Vision
My previous career taught me to analyze data, solve problems, and optimize processes. Now, I’m applying all those skills to this new “position” of Mom. I want to prove that a mom’s value is absolutely not confined to the home. The mindset, resilience, and creativity we built in our careers can shine just as brightly—perhaps even brighter—in this more complex, long-term “project” of raising humans, and can even be transformed into a force that helps others.
My hope is simple: that every mom who opens this blog can let out a sigh of relief and say, “So it’s not just me.” Then, she can find a bit of practical info, a dose of comforting solidarity, and return to her sweet, chaotic mom-life with a little more confidence and a little less weight on her shoulders.
This road? Let’s walk it together.
Re: TWW Tuesday
CD/DPO: 21/6
Timing: -2, -1, 0
Testing: Saturday
R/R/CS: I'm so thankful I have school today because this TWW has been extra brutal and I need a distraction. Feel like a crazy person.
GTKY: I have nothing! But I really wish I could play an instrument.
CD/DPO: 17/3 (or 4)
Timing: -5, -3, -1, 0 (-4, -2, 0, +1)
Testing: Maybe as early as Friday*
R/R/CS: *We have an upcoming trip to Walt Disney World this week through next Tuesday, so I may be testing obnoxiously early because of the roller coasters. I know I shouldn't act/live like I'm pregnant before a positive test, but I also know it will be in the back of my mind otherwise. I may call my OB instead though and get a recommendation...I really hate seeing BFNs.
GTKY: No special talent per se. I'd like to be a better photographer.
DH: 36⎹ Me: 36
CD/DPO: 21/8
Timing: -3, O
Testing: Saturday
R/R/CS: I'm getting nervous as Saturday approaches. On the one hand, I just want to test and get it over with, but on the other hand I'm scared of seeing a BFN.
GTKY: What are some of your "special talents?" If you don't have one, what do you wish you could do? I wish that I was more crafty. I'm kind of jealous of all the women who make cute things to sell on Etsy.

GTKY: What are some of your "special talents?" If you don't have one, what do you wish you could do?
I am double jointed in my arms and fingers. I like to gross out people on occasion with my talent haha!
Surgery Dec 2016: submucosal fibroid removed
Awaiting RE appointment
CD/DPO: 4 dpo
Timing: perfect
Testing: 10 dpo
R/R/CS: I suck at waiting. The only reason I'm not poas right now is because my husband put the tests in his tool box AND LOCKED it. He told me not to try to smash it open because there's gun powder in it.
GTKY: What are some of your "special talents?" If you don't have one, what do you wish you could do?
I used to ride horses. I started in the second grade.
Right now I currently wish I knew how to sew.
CD/DPO: 23/8
Timing: -3,-2,-1
Testing: Friday for drinking.
R/R/CS: What is it with dpo8??? No matter what my plans are my impatient side kicks into overdrive at 8. Those FRERS and their 6 day early claim are to blame. Well they can do one, I'd never waste my money on them again and no other tests I have claim 6 days before my period is possible thankfully.
GTKY: What are some of your "special talents?" If you don't have one, what do you wish you could do?
I can sing a tune or two....I'd love to be able to play the saxophone.

CD/DPO: 24/7
Timing: -2 (still hoping FF is wrong and we hit -1 instead)
Testing: Maybe Friday but trying to hold out until the weekend.
R/R/CS: Well, after posting yesterday that I feel much more relaxed and less obsessed this cycle, I woke up to a pretty significant temp drop (-0.57) so I was all, omg implantation dip, I've never had this on my charts before! But then I looked back at my charts and remembered that I didn't even really temp beyond 5DPO the past two months, so, yeah... reality check.

GTKY: What are some of your "special talents?" If you don't have one, what do you wish you could do? I have no special talents, this pretty much sums me up. I wish I was handy around the house, or crafty, or a good cook, or all/any combination of those things, haha.
Edit for spelling and to add my chart if anyone cares.

GTKY: What are some of your "special talents?" If you don't have one, what do you wish you could do? I'm good at Calligraphy. I can sing pretty well. I'm pretty crafty, and I can cross one eye and keep the other one straight which is pretty cool.

Timing: ok timing
Testing: Maybe 12dpo but if I can wait then when af is due.
R/R/CS: I had a huge temp spike yesterday then decrease today. This is my first time temping so I'm not sure if this is normal. What do you guys think?
GTKY: What are some of your "special talents?" I wish I could sing!
Month/Cycle: 7/7
CD/DPO: 17/4
Timing: -4. -2, +1 Shit, I know. Thank you very much DH for injuring yourself at the gym causing us to miss -1 and O and pretty much screw up our whole month!
Testing: Due to the crap timing I am pretty much just expecting AF to come, so I don't really have plans to test.
R/R/CS: I had a co-worker who went out on vacation, which we all have and earn and have the right to take. However, we are all expected to work ahead so that no work is late and I am his back up for the one part of his position that has to be done on a daily basis. Well, I came in to a stack of his work that he left for me at my desk with sticky notes telling me to do this that and the other thing that he should have completed before he left. Now I pretty much have my entire job to do plus his, not just the one little function that I was expecting. Thank you king douche bag!
GTKY: What are some of your "special talents?" If you don't have one, what do you wish you could do?
I think my favorite special talent is my "bullshit detector". Not to brag but I'm pretty much a human lie detector haha
Also, when I was younger I was big into performing arts and was classically trained singer. I did operas, plays etc. Then I went to college and haven't done anything with it since. I enjoyed it but just didn't see a future career there.

I'm a pretty much a star athlete in Procrastination. And country line dancing

R/R/CS: RANT!! & Question
I am trying to remain hopeful. I believe God can do the impossible, but I really didn't want TTC to be impossible. I am worried I may have endometriosis. My sister got diagnosed thru laparascopic surgery last year, and two aunts also have it. I have always had painful periods with severe cramping, except when I was on the pill. I saw my doc yesterday and she also suspects endo. The only diagnostic/treatment tool is laparascopy.
I did some googling and found that untreated mild endo gives you a 2% chance of conceiving every month rather than the 20% the avg person has. With severe, it goes down to 1%. With laparascopic surgery, your chances only improve to 4%!!! Barely worth it in my opinion. But they do go up to 11% with clomid and IUI. Great.
Anyway. Not surprised to see some spotting this morning. Hello, AF. Think we will be seeing a lot of each other the next 5 years.
Question: is there anyone on here who has been diagnosed with endo, who can share her story with me?
GTKY: What are some of your "special talents?" If you don't have one, what do you wish you could do?
I can crochet quite well... I really enjoy making things for friends/their babies
CD/DPO:CD22 / 3DPO
Timing: -1, 0
Testing: I plan on testing around 14 dpo.
R/R/CS: Well, I am starting into my 3rd year of TTC. It has had its ups and downs, but I am still hopeful. I vented to one of my gal-pals the other day about how hard it is sometimes getting in the mood... with my hormones all out of wack, its like a job at times... She responded with "you make sex seem like hard work, and you do know you have to have it to get a baby, right?"..... I seriously wanted to slap her... she doesn't get it, and it certainly showed with that remark.
GTKY: What are some of your "special talents?" If you don't have one, what do you wish you could do?
I have a special talent of putting ice cold feet on my hubby late at night when he's all toasty warm.
but seriously.... I bake.... Cakes mainly. But at my workplace, each of my co-workers get a homemade cake for their birthday by me! I love baking.
First BFP on 2/6/2016!
Month/Cycle: 3/3
CD/DPO: 26/8
Timing: -3,-1,O
Testing: 10dpo
R/R/CS: I had a temp dip today. It's the first one in all my charts since July within the 6-9dpo window. So I have a question: does an implantation dip have to go below the cover line?
I am mobile bumping so idk how to add my chart.
GTKY: What are some of your "special talents?" If you don't have one, what do you wish you could do?

Testing: Tomorrow (although now I am skeptical)
R/R/CS: After a super squinter on Sunday I had planned to test again tomorrow. However, AF cramps and a slight temp drop this morning have me thinking I am out. I’ll see what my temp does in the AM.
GTKY: What are some of your "special talents?" If you don't have one, what do you wish you could do? I can bake and cook really well. Also, I have a good eye for interior and graphic design. I really REALLY wish I could sing!
Congrats @DanniG79!
@maeko25I was diagnosed with endo almost 10 years ago and then it was confirmed and cleared out 3 years ago while having a lap for an ovarian cyst. I remained on the pill after the surgery mainly to suppress the symptoms. Unfortunately, I think it is back. I had an ultrasound this past July and my obgyn suspects adhesions around my (remaining) tube. Obviously it can’t be diagnosed through an ultrasound but she said it is something to keep an eye on. If I am not KU within 6 cycles the plan is to do an HSG. I’m so sorry you’ve been diagnosed. I understand that it is frustrating to not officially get the diagnosis unless you do the lap. Honestly, I probably wouldn’t have done the lap if it wasn’t for the cyst and ovary that absolutely had to be removed. Not sure how else to help but let me know if you have any questions!

GTKY: What are some of your "special talents?" If you don't have one, what do you wish you could do?
I have no talents. I am perfectly average in every way. And I like that

Month/Cycle: 5/6
CD/DPO: 22/8
Timing: -4,-2,-1,O,+1
Testing: Only if AF doesn't show
R/R/CS: FF changed my CH today to CD18 instead of 14. I don't buy it for a second, so I took out yesterday's temp as it was pretty high and I was really warm when I took it, so then it pushed it back to CD14. I'm sticking with that and not going to go crazy.
GTKY: What are some of your "special talents?" If you don't have one, what do you wish you could do?
This is random, but I am really good at foosball. I used to play a ton in high school with some guy friends of mine and I've managed to hang on to the skill. Downside is no one wants to play against me and when I play at my parents' house they make my goal half the size by duct taping cardboard around the goal lol.
@lindseyrva - I love the gif in your signature! Obviously, Parks & Rec is my fav.

Testing: I've got a ton of cheap wondfos, so I'm not even going to try to contain the crazy.
R/R/CS: So glad to be here! I know I'm jumping the gun by coming over here before O is officially confirmed, but I had to get out of WTO... I had been there way too long. Also, O pains are really bad this month and on both sides. This is causing crazy thoughts...everything from "OMG! Something is terribly wrong with my ute and I'll never get KU" to "Yay! O pain on both sides? That clearly means I'm already KU with triplets at 2 DPO!"
GTKY: What are some of your "special talents?" If you don't have one, what do you wish you could do?
I'm currently taking an improv class, so I hope to soon be able to make up crazy, hilarious stories on the fly in front of a live audience. Even if it doesn't turn into a special talent, at least it is fun.

GTKY: What are some of your "special talents?" I'm a really good cook/baker. I'm also extremely observant, I think I trained myself to be this way though, I always wanted to be in the CIA and knew that would benefit me greatly. Sadly I'm not in the CIA so I use this weird talent to freak out DH and "predict" things

@DanniG79 congrats!
@styler91 I hope this is your year!
I guess I would amend to say, 3 years ago I would not have chosen to do the lap. I was on BCP which was suppressing the symptoms of the endo and at the time I wasn’t too concerned about how it would affect my fertility. Another reason I say I wouldn’t do it is because the recovery for me was extremely difficult both physically and more significantly emotionally; Physically because abdominal surgery is not easy and I was very sore and bruised. Emotionally because I lost an ovary due to the cyst and I was a newlywed, nowhere near ready for kids, suddenly thrown into a panic about my fertility.
That being said, today I would probably consider doing it since I was unofficially diagnosed 10 years ago and am now actively TTC. Most likely, had I not been through what I went through 3 years ago, I would consider it after about 9 cycles of trying and depending on what my doctor recommended. I would venture to say that my viewpoint on the lap for the endo is tainted by the fact that it wasn’t really a decision I got to make.
CD/DPO: 25/11
Timing: -5, -1, 0
Testing: Tested this morning, BFN.
R/R/CS: My chart has officially been given the label of triphasic by FF. I have never even been close to having a triphasic chart...but still bfn. I'm going into the extra crazy realm of "maybe my wondfos are a bad batch!" So I'm gonna go buy some more expensive tests to get that out of my brain.
Also, my boobs hurt so bad that I couldn't sleep on my stomach last night
GTKY: What are some of your "special talents?"
I have fantastic eyesight.
I wish I could sing really well. Or sew!
Month/Cycle: 3/3
CD/DPO: 27/11
Timing: -4, -2, 0
Testing: BFN, all the days
R/R/CS: Possible TMI?? Been having light spotting since Friday, you know the kind that you only see when you wipe. Except today I had dark brown spotting and not just when I wipe. So my question is, when do you guys count CD1? I thought it was when you start bleeding- like red blood. Is that right? HALP.
GTKY: What are some of your "special talents?" If you don't have one, what do you wish you could do?
I don't think I have special talents unless you count drinking a bottle of wine in one setting and only having a slight headache in the morning.
The talent I wish I had: something artistic. Like I wish I was a great painter, or sketch artist or something like that.
edit to say: Congrats to @DanniG79 !!
