    I miss sushi so much!!!!

Just to add my own, eat the sushi if you want it. Obviously make smart choices and don't buy it at a gas station or something.

On a separate note, I asked our pedi if DD (2 years old) can have sushi and she said absolutely. Just in case anyone is wondering

My kids eat sushi. I can't see why not. But they also get backyard eggs and homebrewed kombucha. Because I'm a rebel and I like to live on the edge.

ETA: QBF because whatever is up with TB lately...
  • One of my student's favorite foods is salmon roe. It's amazing what kids will eat if they're given the opportunity!

  • I have never had Sushi.
  • I lived in South Carolina all my life and waited until I moved to Nebraska to try it. It's delicious! Love Hawaiian rolls and we have sushi called blue balls lol. Delish!
  • I ate sushi and got soooo sick!!! I don't suggest it. I even got vegetable ones thinking I'd be safe and I think I experienced cross contamination or something. My recommendation don't do it!
  • I've eaten sushi a few times since getting pregnant. I mainly avoid raw rolls right now (though I love them, and I'm reading that I can actually have them, I'm just a worry wart) and tuna (though it's my favorite). I get my sushi from nice places that I've always eaten at and never had an issue.

It is probably one of the most satisfying meals I've eaten since my bfp! To each their own I suppose.
  • Mmmm I think I will have sushi sometime this week, and a kani salad and an egg roll :)

That would be like me saying don't eat pizza bc I got sick from eating pizza once. You probably got food poisoning and it most likely was related to the restaurant you went to.

  • I'll be the tenth person to say, it's a personal choice, talk to your doctor, etc ;) but for example I know we're not supposed to eat raw egg yolks, but I'm not giving up my poached or sunny side up eggs at brunch...I've never gotten sick eating eggs so that is my decision, though I know it's certainly possible. On the other hand, I did get sick once eating 3 pieces of a salmon roll (that had grayish salmon, ew) from a nice restaurant we'd eaten at before -- I made my husband try it "just to see if it tasted weird" hahaha. So awful! -- we were sick for days. So even though I love sushi normally (once I got over that experience), it's my decision not to have raw sushi during pregnancy (other kinds...yes). Not perfectly logical, obviously, but my decision and sticking to it! Enjoy all your cooked/raw version of sushi ladies ;)
  • I've had sushi twice this pregnancy. Most likely I will do it again. I asked for the rolls on the menu that are cooked and stayed away from sushimi (sad face :/) and it was awesome. Any restaurant you go to can potentially have an outbreak of a food borne illness. Do what makes you feel comfortable.
  • I tried sushi for the first time from a local grocery store (I've watched them numerous of times prepare it fresh in the store the same day they put the sushi out) and ssurprisingly it was really good! I've been wanting some tempura rolls lately but hubby is so on my back about what I eat. What to do? =/
  • I havnt had many cravings... But sushi Is the one that keeps coming up.. I keep going for the crab ones but it's just not cutting it.. I told my husband all I want for my birthday July 13 (after the baby is born) is sushi and a strongbow cider.. Haha
