I haven't seen posts of others with their last names. Didn't mean to single you out, I feel like it applies to everyone!

  • For a boy, DH wants to continue on a family naming tradition (same first name, middle name starts with same letter), so it will be John Alexander if a boy.

For a girl, we haven't really discussed yet, but I want the middle name to be Jean after my mom. Right now I'm liking Ava, Riley, Evie, and Avery...any opinions on what sounds best with Jean (pronounced just like a pair of jeans you wear)??

  • @verdouxkai - My middle name is Jean! So is my mother's and my grandmother's, and I will be continuing the tradition by giving my first daughter (if I end up with one) the awesome middle name Jean. So my daughter will be Evelyn Jean or Ev (like Ed but with a "v" sound instead of the "d") for short. I think all the names you picked out go well with Jean! Both me and my grandma have names that end in the "ey/ie/y" sound, and they both sound lovely with the MN.

If we have a son his name will be Walter (Wally for short) Jo(h)n or Joel. Not sure if the H will be included in John yet. DH's MN is John and my dad's is Jon. I kind of like the idea of giving him a name in common with my dad, but it also makes more sense to keep it in like with DH's family. Joel is DH's dad's name, so that is a possibility, too. And yes, I realize we could be potentially naming our kids Wally and Ev(e) like in the movie Wall-E, but I don't really care they are adorable names and I like what I like!
  • @PoodleDoodleOoo - Thanks for the feedback, I was thinking those would work well with Jean! Your names sound great, I love Walter/Wally, and of course am partial to John ;)

  • DH and I both agree on Wyatt Dean for a boy. I love Cordelia Rose for a girl, but I haven't quite convinced DH yet.

We will not even start talking about names until we find out if baby is a boy or girl.

My brother in law (whom we were both very fond of) passed away in June. I am going to insist we somehow incorporate his name (Nicholas James). DH hates James, so we were thinking maybe Jamie. We'll have to wait for gender either way though :)

My girls both have "T" names, so it would be hard to not go with a "T" name if this baby is a girl. My SS is a "J", so if this baby is a boy, we may have to go with a "J" name. No guarantees though :)

One of my BFF's has a Cordelia Rae! They call her Cordie and I LOVE it!
