UO Thursday!!

Re: UO Thursday!!

  • @bankssl1 - I call my mom every day right after work because she lives across the country and we are in different time zones and it's the only time we really get to talk that's convenient for both of us. I have a forty five minute commute and put my headset on so I can talk to her while I'm sitting in traffic. But if I ever thought I wasn't paying attention to the road I would definitely get off my phone.

  • Maybe this isn't so unpopular, but I'm really glad that my bump isn't obvious enough yet that strangers are commenting on it (people who know I'm pregnant can tell, and I bet some strangers have thought it but not said anything). Seems like people have a hard time not saying rude or weird things to pregnant ladies they don't know, so I'm glad it hasn't started yet.
  • @bankssl1 I call my husband or my mom on the phone to chat on the way home. I do pay attention to the road though. I commuted for 4 years and got used to talking to my people because that would be the only time I really had to catch up with people. I call my husband now and download on stress from work so by time I get home I feel less stressed and more loving.
  • @sdLindenberg We will have to make sure to stay in touch bc I may be moving to SD this spring! Hubs is finishing grad school and is applying to jobs- his first interview he's gotten is a job in SD. Others on the list are Seattle, LA, Boston, and DC. We won't have much of a choice I think we'll just end up wherever he gets an offer. He's hoping to graduate in April and have a job lined up so we can move before the baby comes. If we end up there you'll have to tell me about doctors and ice rinks!
Oooh!!!! And Im 99.9999% sure @joose159 is from here too!! What is his line of work, if you don't mind me asking? (I need to figure out this whole private messaging thing on here.... HAHAH!)
I'm in the Bay Area actually.... just love SD too :)
  • My husband and I call each other everyday when we leave work. We talk on the ride home about our work day, or things that shouldn't be discussed in front of the kids like money, sick relatives, whatever is relevant for us at the moment. This gives us time at home to be more focused on each other and our kids. We also both have Bluetooth in our vehicles so everything is hands free.

My UO, I love the occasional laziness I get to experience being pregnant. I work a lot and am constantly on the go for my kids, so I don't feel bad for letting people do for me. However, I don't ask for any favors, I just don't turn any of the offers down.

  • @ashleyrobertson0113 I don't like bacon either, or sausage, or really most pork. I will eat the ocassional hot dog though, but that's about it.

@bankssl1 my husband calls me every day on his way out of the office. He doesn't have a hands free device and it's illegal to talk on the phone while driving without one where we live, so he calls while he's still in the building to tell me he's on his way home.

I really like the Bay Area, but there's nothing for my hubs there at the moment so it's not on the list. I've never been to SD, I'm excited to hopefully see it when his interview gets scheduled. Hopefully it's a time I can go too. @sdLindenberg "DH" is a physicist. I haven't really figured out private messaging either, I mostly log in on the app and everything is harder on here. I don't know where I would see the notification that I had a new message, like if it would pop up or if I'd have to track it down and check somewhere.
  • You ladies are great! I don't have anything more to say that hasn't been said but thank you for the giggles!
  • @laurenm2123 YES! I catch myself writing "hubby" but I don't want to be the only one.

@sdLindenberg ....I did that. I'm still learning the etiquette here.

UO: This is hard because I hate everything right now. I'm gonna go with selfies. I hate them. Unless it's you and your SO in front of something awesome or you're with someone, I don't want to keep seeing pictures of you because you like the way you look. I have friends who are very pretty but it's like 7 pictures a day, too much. Makes me hate social media.

Yes!!! Selfies are a constant annoyance to me! I don't know how many family, friends, and forgotten aquaintances I stopped following or unfriended on Facebook just to avoid one more picture of another angle of their face! Lol
  • Y'all have made me realize its just my co workers I am annoyed with! HAH! All of you had very valid points!
