  • I think signature GIFs are annoying. Sorry, y'all.
Sometimes the big ones can be annoying, but I can't stop watching @mandyjulie 's right now.  It makes me laugh every single time and really makes me want to play that game.

It bothers me when there are a bunch of them, but I like the siggy challenge ones. @PinkLady2015 's makes me laugh every time.

Haha, yes!  That one is amazing, too.

ETA: I don't know how to collapse the quote boxes?

As someone who would have to agree, you can actually block signatures. I had to in my first trimester because the food themed challenge was making me sick. lol.

  • My Not-so-unpopular opinion for today:

People who eat smelly ass food at their desk area should be publicly shamed. Yes, new girl, I'm looking at you and whatever bowl of yuck you heated up in the break room and are now eating at your desk. My pregnant nose wants to loudly call out 'What is that disgusting SMELL?!' just to embarrass you, because I can smell it all the way over here and it's ruining my salad.

And let's not pretend you didn't know. I overheard your trainer tell you this morning very specifically that we are not allowed to have food that smells in the cubicle area. Keep it in the break room.

It's not fish, is it? That's a fucking sin.

Ok, here's a real UO: I think the joke posts mocking noobs who don't search or ask stupid questions just add to the problem. We all know they don't lurk, so they see these posts (which are funny if you get the joke, to be fair) but they don't read them; which in turn, makes them think it's ok to ask dumb questions. This is not only something that happens here, I remember in ttgp people intro-ing with "could I be pg??" And when you open it, it's a joke, but a lot of noobs don't go that far and think since everyone else is doing it...
I so agree. Every time I happen across one--the first reply is someone crawling out of the woodwork to post snarky shit paired with a gif which seems to just take way more work than its worth. What is wrong with ignoring it or just being polite?
Seriously, not trying to flame anyone, I just don't get it.
  • @ButterMyBiscuit no, it was some sort of bean/rice type dish. Not fishy but still plenty smelly. Every day this week she has heated up some sort of leftovers that smell and then taken it to her desk to eat and I am DONE.

She also streams pandora (against policy) and surfs the Internet on her work computer (also against policy).

The convo I overheard with her trainer was after she asked if she could bring in her keurig and plug it in at her desk, along with a mini fridge. In a sea of cubicles. NO BITCH. Not everybody wants to smell your coffee and leftovers (and I love coffee).

Maybe I just don't like her. Meh.
  • @theshannondee Eh, I think everyone's tired of the repetitive posts about the same things that have been answered/discussed over and over and over again, especially when they're posted by someone new to the board. I'll admit that I was terrified to post my first thread on this board, but once you get to know the group dynamic it's a supportive and helpful group of people who are tired as shit of the same dumb questions/comments/posts.
And thats fine, I just personally don't get it. Trust me, I am aware I am in the minority when it comes to what is deemed funny or acceptable within the group dynamics on this board. It doesn't bother me enough to not pop in though!

I am irrationally pissed that this blizzard isn't supposed to hit Philly until Saturday. I could use a couple snow days!

My co-workers and I were just whining about that. We usually get "optional" snow days, though.  Like "You can leave early if the snow will affect your commute." But everyone knows I take SEPTA, who for some reason usually seems to have their ish together, so I never get to leave early. :(

@marowan the regional rails are not usually so lucky. The R5 is a hot mess when it rains hard sometimes...lol!

  • @Y0urm0m what didn't take long? You didn't get reported, did you?

Hey the title is UO Thursday...Isn't that the point? Or am I out of the loop on something?

@ButterMyBiscuit My ETA was in reference to how long it took me to post that gif. She won't report me if she knows what's good for her
  • @BioTeach84 Ah, yeah, I take bus and MFL. I used to take the 104 from West Chester to Philly. LONG ride, but ridiculously reliable. :-/ Luckily I'm much closer to the city now, so it's a short commute and my route is always running. I almost feel bad for complaining that my transportation is reliable lol.
  • @marowan I went to WCU and would take the 104 to visit my friends at Drexel....definitely longest bus ride ever. There was also always a homeless person that would sit down next to me and be doing something super weird.
  • @Y0urm0m @thebigoaktree I use that gesture ALL THE TIME. It's top five favorites.

@BioTeach84 Oh man, always homeless people. Luckily during rush hour commute time, it was mostly business-y type people. But yeah, any other time can be iffy!

ETA: Some West Chester homeless are super nice people that I knew from working in the borough in high school. But damn, some of them are scary!
  • @marowan the weirdos usually got on around Newtown Square. Did you go to HS in The borough too? My MIL works at East and DH went to Henderson
