    Doing anything baby related today?
    -nope.

    Raves/Rants/Randoms:
-ultrasound is Friday! If all goes well, we will be telling our 4yr old. After a previous MMC, I'm a nervous wreck but also excited.

    Questions?

GTKY: If you could change careers easily and without any problems, what would you change it to, or would you not change it at all?
-I'm a SAHM, when all of my kids are in full day school I would love to be a lactation consultant.

How far along are you? EDD? 6w2d 9/12/16!

    How are you feeling? Good!

Doing anything baby related today? Went in for my intake appointment at my local clinic/hospital. It took forever, but I learned a lot from the nurse I spoke to. I was a bit bummed my husband wasn't with me, but I suppose his presence wasn't really necessary. We scheduled our first ultrasound for Wednesday of next week. FX there's a heartbeat!

    Raves/Rants/Randoms:

    Questions?

GTKY: I would like to be a marine biologist and study either whales (orca's most likely) or manatees. I currently work in marketing, so very very different! I also don't live anywhere near the ocean, so there's that.

@reesaXden FX for you and that your ultrasound goes well! And I also hope you start feeling better soon.

How are you feeling? On and off nausea already, sore boobs, and my cramps are now very mild.

Doing anything baby related today? Told a close friend.  Also took another cheapie test, the line is much darker than the squinter four days ago but is still only half as dark as the test line.  Trying to not read into it.

Raves/Rants/Randoms: So yesterday I was super happy and positive and today I'm feeling scared that this will end soon.  The worry that at our 8w u/s there will be no heartbeat is becoming all consuming.  My appt is on 2/18 so four more long weeks and one day, this wait is wrecking me.  I swear I was also finally ok with the extra amounts of CM and not thinking it is bad news and now I'm back to running to the bathroom every sensation, which is like every 15m.

    Questions? Nope

GTKY: If you could change careers easily and without any problems, what would you change it to, or would you not change it at all?
Yes, I would change carries, but unsure to what.  I wanted to be a biomedical engineer and make new organs and such, but engineering school didn't quite work out.  In non practical careers I would love to have a travel show, I loved Samantha Brown.
  • How far along are you? EDD? 6w5d 9/9

How are you feeling? Nauseous. After I eat something it should be a little better.

Doing anything baby related today? No

Raves/Rants/Randoms: I'm counting down the days until my first appt on Monday. I'm so anxious to get my ultrasound scheduled. PGAL brain has me on pins and needles lately.

    Questions?

GTKY: If you could change careers easily and without any problems, what would you change it to, or would you not change it at all? I'm currently a SAHM, and no I wouldn't change it. Despite the days where I feel I might lose my sanity, I feel very fortunate that I'm able to be the main caregiver for my babies before they go off to school. Once they're all in school full time, I'd like to become a doula or an elementary school teacher.
  • How far along are you? 7w6d EDD? 9/1

How are you feeling? Nausea was finally subsiding with the help of SeaBands but then I caught a nasty cold so I'm back on my a** because of that, haha. ::This too shall pass.::

Doing anything baby related today? First scan this afternoon!!!! I'm both insanely excited and extremely anxious. 3pm can't come soon enough! FX everything looks great.

Raves/Rants/Randoms: Reading through the information I got from my OB at my nurse's appt last week. I had forgotten how much information gets thrown at you! And even though I've BTDT, the ensuing decisions (genetic testing, cord blood banking/donation, etc) are stressful!

Questions? Anyone had genetic testing via Progenity before (screenings are called 'preparent' and 'verifi')? If so, how did your insurance handle coverage? Were there any OOP costs?

GTKY: I dream of being a nurse one day...which is quite different from my current role as data analyst! I've looked into nursing schools in my area, networked with nurses to really make sure it's for me, everything. The only catch is that nursing school can't be completed on nights and weekends, meaning I'd have to quit my FT job. I can't afford to do that, so...here I am. Analyzing data. Maybe someday...

  • How far along are you? EDD? A little over 5 weeks. I am guestimating right now that I'm due around 9/17!

How are you feeling? Excited still - I just found out on Monday! Low energy though, and boobs are killing me!

Doing anything baby related today? Does avoiding work and looking a baby forums count?

Raves/Rants/Randoms: Wondering how I'm going to handle the work situation once baby is here. Need to research what my options are and right now my brain is just like - "no."

Questions? Anyone heard of this twin effect thing?? Apparently getting pregnant right after stopping birth control ups your chances... and being 35... O.o

GTKY: If I could, I keep wondering how it would have been to have a more active career. Something like a personal trainer, or an exercise scientist, or even someone who gives tours outdoors. Maybe even a flight attendant or pilot, something that would let me see more of the world. I could never afford the change, and I like what I do, but sometimes I hate that I'm stuck on a computer all day.

How are you feeling? Good.  mild nausea feeling every once and a while but otherwise good.

Doing anything baby related today?  Nope.

Raves/Rants/Randoms: Tonight we're having mac and cheese with dinner.   Kraft mac and cheese...of the spongebob shape.    I am waaay too excited about this.    But can't stop dreaming about it.   It is just so good!

    Questions?  I'm good today.

GTKY: If you could change careers easily and without any problems, what would you change it to, or would you not change it at all?  I would love to be a SAHM.  Unfortunately, right now it's not on the plate for us.  Hopefully by the time baby #2 comes along we'll be in a better place financially where we can make that happen.
  • How far along are you? EDD? 6w4d 9/10

How are you feeling?  Meh. Semi-nauseous. A bit tired. A bit light headed when I look up.

Doing anything baby related today? Just Bumpin'.

Raves/Rants/Randoms: My interview went awesome yesterday! I actually got a call back from the HR rep today. I missed his call (phone was in the other room) but he wants me to call back and discuss details. They legally have to keep the job posted for 2 weeks and interview anyone who meets the criteria. But both the people I interviewed with liked me and are willing to move forward! So I could be back to work in 3 weeks! Yay!

    Questions? Nope.

GTKY: If you could change careers easily and without any problems, what would you change it to, or would you not change it at all?  I would probably change to a medical career. While engineering is fun, I love to help people. I would go back to medical school or nursing school. I think either one of those. And yes, I know being a doctor is way different from a nurse. It's just a random, or semi-random, thought.

How far along are you? EDD? 7 weeks today! 9/7/16

How are you feeling? Nauseous. Especially when I have to get up early for my 7 am shift. I spent yesterday morning before work dry heaving into the sink after I attempted to take my synthroid. Yuck. Diclegis is sort of taking the edge off...I'm only taking 1 pill before bed right now bc when I took the 2 pills I felt snowed the whole next day. It was awful. Considering trying the 2 pills again but I'm scared of having that awful drugged feeling the next day...

Doing anything baby related today? Just getting excited and super nervous for my first ultrasound tomorrow morning! I had an ectopic pregnancy in Sept that resulted in my right tube being removed. So those last ultrasounds I had were very scary and feel very fresh in my mind. I just really hope everything is ok in there.

    Raves/Rants/Randoms: none

    Questions? Not today

GTKY: If you could change careers easily and without any problems, what would you change it to, or would you not change it at all?
I currently work 2 12 hour days as an RN on a mother-baby floor. I actually really love what I do. I enjoy being part time and I am close with my co-workers. I can't really think of anything else I would rather do!

How are you feeling?    I woke up feeling awesome today.  No nausea, and way more energy.   I'm hoping it stays this way for a while.

Doing anything baby related today?  We had some ice and snow yesterday and this am so my office closed.   We were scheduled for our follow up ultrasound tomorrow but they had cancellations and were able those us today.     The second sac didn't develop any further than the first ultrasound, but we have one healthy baby with a hb of 159!   It was amazing to see how much it has grow. And changed in just a couple weeks.     It makes all the discomfort so worth it.

Raves/Rants/Randoms:    Our us tech was so great explaining everything and just genuinely excited about his job.  It was so nice to see.

    Questions?  Can't think of anything

GTKY: If you could change careers easily and without any problems, what would you change it to, or would you not change it at all?    I actually changed careers about a year ago.   I have been in the medical field since high school but after working for a really horrible surgeon it just was having a really negative impact on my wellbeing.   He was so brilliant but lacked any compassion for his employees or patients.  I left there and worked with DH from home for a while until I was offered my current position as an office manager for a boutique real estate office.    I love it.  I handle marketing and billing for the most part, but they make everyone feel so appreciated.  It's been such a nice change.  At first I felt like because I had spent so much time and money on school I had to use it, but I just look at it that it was just what I needed for that time in my life, not a forever thing.

How are you feeling? Pretty great today! Nauseous when hungry, but thats about all I'm noticing

Doing anything baby related today? Just bumping as I fake work.. Today is my admin day at work and I dont have a whole lot to do

Raves/Rants/Randoms: The wait for my first u/s is KILLING me. Also... Cant someone please do ALL of my errands and clean my house? PLEASE? OOOH! I have a massage today. Cannot wait

    Questions? Negative for today!

GTKY: If you could change careers easily and without any problems, what would you change it to, or would you not change it at all?  Maybe something in forensics.  I love dentistry though, so I dont know that I would change.. Maybe if I could be a dentist without the stress or having to go back to school....
  • How Far Along: I'm 7w1d EDD early Sept

    Feeling: TIRED! So very tired

No baby related activities. Tax prep :(

Rants / Raves: just wish I wasn't so fatigued. It's hard work growing a little one.

    No questions.

GTKY: I am a military nurse. I work 4X12h shifts per week. Night shift / Day shift switch every 8 weeks. It's killing me. I'm taking a biochemistry course in which many of the other students are winemakers. I think I'd really rather have that job!
  • @jhems776 - Hugs. Hang in there. This is a really tough time to deal with and the fears of loss are very, very real.

@verdouxkai - I have heard that older women are more likely to have multiples because they tend to release more than one egg at a time, but I've never heard the BC thing. And I know what you mean about being at the computer all day. I like my job overall, but sometimes I miss my old job (a dog groomer!) simply because I was on my feet and moving all day. Granted, I don't miss the crappy hours (or getting crapped on!)

@LakeR2014 - We're having mac and cheese, too! Except I'm attempting a homemade version, something I've never done before, so we'll see how it goes! I have a box of regular ol' Kraft as a backup if I need it :)

How far along: Guessing around 4w4d--really won't know until ultrasound in a few weeks

Feeling: sooooooo tired and sooooooo hungry--taking vaginal suppositories of progesterone and this is why. It's crazy! Also my boobs are killing me.

Doing anything baby related today?: Got some things for an announcement that we're doing at my son's birthday party this weekend!

Rants/raves: I just want these symptoms to start hitting me HARD. Had a miscarriage last year and am so terrified of another one. so the crappier I feel the better!

    No questions!

GTKY: I'm a SAHM and birth doula right now. Also do some wedding coordinating on the side. Dream job will be to eventually teach. I got my teaching degree a year ago but haven't pursued it because I've wanted to stay home with my son.
  • @zrain Yes, everyone says how rewarding nursing is and that's one of the things I think I would love most about it! I really love helping people and as I've gotten older I've realized I need to in order to truly feel fulfilled.

How are you feeling? Doing ok. This morning I got hit with nausea after my shower. While nausea is no fun, I was happy because in my successful pregnancies I had a lot of issues with nausea and with my miscarriages, very few symptoms. I know, I know, every pregnancy is different and nausea doesn't guarantee anything, but in my mind it provides a bit of calm. Besides that just tired.

Doing anything baby related today? Thinking about my first ultrasound and appt. tomorrow. I'm a ball of nerves right now.

Raves/Rants/Randoms: Did I mention I can't wait for tomorrow at 9:30 am to get here? Seriously, the ultrasound is weighing heavy on my brain.

    Questions? No

GTKY: If you could change careers easily and without any problems, what would you change it to, or would you not change it at all? I am currently a SAHM. Ideally, I would love to do something in the medical field (I have a degree in Biomedical Sciences), but anything I'd like to do would require more schooling. Fun jobs...I would like to turn my photography hobby into a career. I just need to keep shooting. I would also love to be a registry consultant...does that even exist? I'm obsessed with baby products and I love helping people pick out things for their registries.

How are you feeling? Pretty terrible today. My grandpa passed away this morning -- I was raised by my grandparents so I'm feeling pretty shocked and devastated. I'm too far away to be very helpful to the family right now in a practical way (I'm doing my best at distant emotional support), so I'm trying to stay quiet but busy with work.

Doing anything baby related today? Had my 1st appointment today and my uterus is measuring 2-3 weeks ahead, so I have an ultrasound tomorrow to see what's up. Twins? Conceived earlier than I thought? No idea what to think right now since I'm pretty confident about my dates.

Raves/Rants/Randoms: I'm so grateful that I was able to get a quick ultrasound appointment, but I'm so antsy from everything I wrote about above that it feels like an eternity away. I need a distraction!

    Questions? N/A

GTKY: I'm a Technical Writer right now, and if I could do whatever I wanted I'd love to be an academic Linguist. Not all that practical but I could happily spend the rest of my life digging into old documents and translations.

    How are you feeling?
-Still feel blah. Food doesn't sound good at all. And this bloat is making me look like I'm 5 months already! I have zero energy, my house is a disaster and I have nothing planned for dinner tonight. DF is out of town and coming home Friday.

    Doing anything baby related today?
-thinking about what maternity clothes I have left from 5 years ago. I may need them sooner than later.

    Raves/Rants/Randoms:
-I want to exercise so bad, hoping this bloating will go down. But I have zero energy! I need a gym buddy since it's too cold to go for walks.

    Questions? None.

My own math put me at 7w3d but won't know anything for sure until I get my first dating scan on the 1st

    How are you feeling?
Other than the mild breast soreness and random bouts of queasiness I feel absolutely fine.

    Doing anything baby related today?
I got gift certificates in my welcome bag that I received at my first appointment with my midwife so I'll be checking out some of the sites they're for tonight with DH.

    Rants/Raves/Randoms:
I know I should be thankful that I haven't been hit with the symptom wrecking ball but it's starting to freak me out how little I'm feeling any symptoms at all.

    Questions?
I got a pamphlet for a first trimester screening. I'm in an in between place of feeling like its the smart thing to do but also feeling like it will cause me so much anxiety being in the process of trying to find answers to an unknown. Being 21 I know statistically my chances of anything being majorly wrong is pretty low but it still makes me fee uneasy. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

GTKY: if you could change careers easily and without any problems, what would you change it to? Or would you not change it at all?

Honestly my dream job has been to be a SAHM since I can remember. I plan on working from home once the baby comes so I can't wait for that but once they're in grade school I will probably go back to working in the school system like I do now although I would like to go back as an OT with a specialty in sensory therapy.
  • @JennM205 congrats on your U/S!

How are you feeling? Good. Food does not sound good so I am just making myself eat whatever. Boobs still hurt but otherwise good.

Doing anything baby related today? First U/S was today. Baby measured right on track with HB 161. I do have a "perigestational hematoma" that is likely causing my brown spotting. MD did not seem overly concerned but did say it will need to be followed.

Raves/Rants/Randoms: I was so anxious the bast few days that I have not slept. Feel so much better now!

Questions? Anyone else with similar hematoma on U/S?

How are you feeling? Crummy, nauseous all day.

Doing anything baby related today? Maybe writing on my pregnancy journal :)

Raves/Rants/Randoms: Feeling nauseous and tired but trying not to nap this afternoon. I let myself sleep all morning but I've been having insomnia at night so I'm hoping it'll get better if I avoid afternoon naps. I hate waking up nauseous at night too, so I'm now keeping crackers on my nightstand and will eat a couple whenever I wake up to pee, which is weird. I'm craving salty foods but I've been loving fresh fruit and had some yummy pineapple with lunch, I decided to eat some more but I remembered that thing that too much pineapple can induce labor and cause miscarriage. I don't know that I 100% believe that but my PGAL brain is now over thinking all the pineapple I already had.

    Questions?

GTKY: I stay home and do some photography on the side. If I could, I'd love to do photography full time and eventually open a bakery once the kids go to school full time. I'l lbe a SAHM when this and other babies are born.

  • How far along are you? EDD? 7 weeks, 1 day. EDD September 6th.

How are you feeling? Not as nauseous today and I am attributing it to not taking my prenatal early in the morning. Think I'm on to something here!

Doing anything baby related today? I went to a local birthing center to see what classes they offered. They recommend taking most of the prenatal classes in your third trimester so that was disappointing lol.

Raves/Rants/Randoms: A woman on my husband's team is pregnant so that might affect how much time he is allowed to take off for paternity leave. Yes, he is lucky. We are lucky. Champagne problems but still, problems.

Questions? Anyone else hot and cold when it comes to nausea?

GTKY: If you could change careers easily and without any problems, what would you change it to, or would you not change it at all? This is a good question, thanks @PoodleDoodleOoo. If I had the brains and the stamina I would have loved to be a doctor of some sort. Instead I just became a therapist. Which is cool, but I still think doctors are awesome.
  • Mine is on the 28th @JennM205
  • How far along are you? I'm 6 weeks 5 days EDD? I'm thinking 9/10

How are you feeling? Pretty good. Lots is all day nausea on some days and hardly any on other days. I have a new set of boobs which isn't bad they are pretty sore.

Doing anything baby related today? I printed off the forms for my first appointment next week. (So far away)

Raves/Rants/Randoms: food does not sound good at all. Nothing.

    Questions? Not today

GTKY: If you could change careers easily and without any problems, what would you change it to, or would you not change it at all? I would love to be a sahm till the baby goes to school. Then some type of work at home. I'd really love to live in the mountains and own a cute restaurant or boutique.
  • Thanks a bunch for all the well-wishes, ladies. I appreciate it <3

The whole house has strep throat. On top of that the nausea is kicking in at an all time high. I took the whole week off from work but I am dreading the hustle and bustle of work next week. My job is so demanding!

Nothing baby related besides dr appointment on Friday.

Rant/raves - sick sick sick and more sick! Eugh

    I'm 6+ weeks.
Starting to feel nauseous. Waaah! I haven't puked yet though so maybe there is hope for me this time. (Yeah right...)
    No R/R/R or questions.
If I could change careers, I'd like to be a pediatrician now instead of a pediatric resident for another 2.5 years, ha! Does that count? I love what I do but I cannot wait until I have more balance in my life. Last night though I did the best spinal tap of my life on a sick baby, which was really cool. I know my end goal is worth another few years of hard work and my future patients will appreciate it!

  • Oh but if the world was really my oyster, I'd like to be a Broadway star. That can't happen in this life though for many many reasons including my terrible singing voice!

How are you feeling? Nauseous! All day nausea. Heartburn up the wazoo, and exhausted! Also extremely anxious and worried but trying to be very positive.

Doing anything baby related today? Everything was baby related today! XD Mostly because I just found out this morning. I was seriously not expecting this at all. I wasn't even watching my period tracker, but decided on a whim to test at 6:50am when I got up. I was so surprised that the positive line turned pink right away! AF was 3 days late, but I've been irregular lately, so I totally ignored it this time around, months before I've obsessed over every twitch and pain, this time I just thought AF was late. Anyway, first Doc's appointment on Friday.

Raves/Rants/Randoms: I'm trying to stay positive, but I'm anxious. Had an ectopic almost three years ago, and I'm just hoping for a healthy pregnancy.

Questions? Is anyone exercising? For the last two months I've been trying to lose weight and have been walking 2-4miles a day. I don't wanna stop... But I don't wanna harm the pregnancy. You guys think it's ok to keep doing it?

GTKY: I'm a SAHM and a freelance artist, before that I was a teacher assistant, and I have to admit I miss it so much. If I could I'd go back to school and become a Kindergarten teacher I'd totally do it!
  • @beaziebearome I think walking is fine as long as you aren't overdoing it and getting dizzy or lightheaded or anything. I'm doing 3.5 hour workouts every day (for physical therapy, not by choice!) and lifting weights and stuff. My therapists say it's fine and so does my midwife SIL and everything I've read. Just make sure you're listening to your body and not exerting yourself to the point of exhaustion or injury
