Feeling: Pretty tired, heavy chest, nauseated only when I don't eat
Nothing baby related - still a week until my first appointment and it's just the consult, no scan
Rants / Raves: I felt like supermom yesterday - got tons done on my day off with my son, got the dog groomed, etc. Even worked out after little one went to bed! Booyea!
No questions.
GTKY: I wouldn't change careers. I am a Pharmacist and enjoy having my doctorate in something so important (and that pays extremely well). I used to work retail, but switched to an office job (for state medicaids approving medications) when trying to conceive baby #1. Since having my son I work 4 basically stress-free days a week, and am home with my son Wednesdays and weekends - it's the best of both worlds for me.
How are you feeling? Exhausted. I don't have energy for anything. Also extremely short of breath. I can't have a conversation without losing my breath.
Doing anything baby related today? Went to a pregnancy center today to get some prenatal and some info for healthcare.
Raves/Rants/Randoms: I'm having the weirdest dreams ever, when I can sleep that is.
Questions? Has anyone else experienced shortness of breath so early?
GTKY: If you could change careers easily and without any problems, what would you change it to, or would you not change it at all? I'm a photographer and I love my job, but I'm struggling to keep up today.
@VickieHTX I have inappropriate sinus tachycardia (diagnosed years ago, not anything dangerous) so my heart rate is always really high. Pregnancy has already made it worse so I get short of breath every once in a while.
Have you been to the doctor about it? It would be a good idea to get a work-up to see if they can find out why. It's too early for it to be regular pregnancy shortness of breath where the baby squishes your diaphragm and makes it harder to breathe, and increased blood volume doesn't come til later either. There are lots of things that can cause shortness of breath, some scary and some not scary, and if you say it's extreme and all the time it would be a good idea to get checked out. Good luck, I hope you feel better soon!
