• @fitlady21 I use wondfos with fmu or smu because I drink so much water throughout the day. The first few months I did them at lunch and I never got a positive I had to go by when it was the darkest and it was a pain.

GTKY: What was your most embarrassing hairstyle?
The worst was when I was having some problems pulling out too much hair in middle school (it was a nervous habit), so my mom took me to some chain to "fix it". The first try was a very s***ty very of The Rachel, the second try looked like this, but shorter.

So it was all chopped off Bieber short, with the top part of the crown really short so you can put a ton of hairspray on it and curl it and have it stick up like a comb. Just awful.
I have Glamour Shots with this haircut :flushed: What's weird is I noticed a LOT of salon workers were still wearing this style well into the new millennium.

@PeggyOlsonFTW - Cracking up at your perm comment! We have a family photo from 1987ish - my mom, her sisters, me and my sister, all of our female cousins have that tight poodle perm. There are no words.

@Kirby1220 - Right after this monstrosity I let my hair grow out and got bangs, and went through a whole Sun-In phase for a couple years. Looking at the pictures now it was so uneven and brassy, but the boys finally started to notice me so I consider it a win! :joy:

  • @MRSCORKER My cycle twin!!! I'm so bummed you have to TTA this cycle tho!

@furbabymom2007 Thanks! Ya, I will try not to worry too much about "perfection" cos my charts are definitely clear and easy enough to read that I'm not so worried. I actually did use a tampon yesterday, so I'm sure whatever I'm doing can't be so far off. ;)

@kbear117 I guess it's actually spelled Creichton https://www.creightonmodel.com/ or https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Creighton_Model_FertilityCare_System When they were teaching it to us, it was really just and intro and then they offered for couples to sign up for the one-on-one training and all the tracking materials, but we didn't do that. So long story short, you use stickers, white, green or red to very simply chart CM. I think some of the stickers then also have babies on them (or maybe numbers or something) to indicate FW!? I thought it was cute but had already figured I would start BBT charting, which wasn't costing me anything but a $6 thermometer, soo... I think point being though that even just spotting would get a red sticker.

@PrettyPalomino I hope your eye is okay. I agree with PP that it's probably still a little early and you could very welly just be experiencing some residual swelling as part of the healing process. Did the doctor tell you already they might need to redo it??

@PrimRoseMama Thank you! I am basically dying over here bleeding my guts out at my desk while DH runs out to pick up pizza. There's a guy installing our new garage door and our helper doing something or other so I cannot abandon my station! Arggghhhh!

WAYDTGKU: AF is gone so EOD starts today...hopefully (read below)

R/R/CS: DH has been out of town for 8 days. The first 5 were for work, then he came home for a couple of hours and drove straight to our cabin in Maine for a guy's weekend. I've been super depressed all week about AF and not having him here wasn't helping. He started out the weekend super sweet and it was going great until he flipped a switch yesterday and made me feel like crap all day. Its a long story but basically he said he was coming home early (his idea, not mine at all), making me feel all special and loved just to turn around and say he would rather stay, making me feel unimportant and tossed aside. I wish he would have just told me he missed me was looking forward to seeing me tonight instead. Then he proceeded to ignore me the entire remainder of the day/night by leaving his phone in his truck the entire time. Anyways, needless to say I feel pretty crummy and am not looking forward to him coming home. Phew! Sorry for the book, had to get it off my chest though. Am I over-reacting?? Maybe I am, it wouldn't be the first time!!

GTKY: What was your most embarrassing hairstyle? After DS was born I got an awful pixie cut. The pictures make me shudder!

After the first week and a half he said he doesn't think it would even possible for them to get any better but they just continue to get better and better and better. Give it time, he says it's the best thing he's ever done! Good Luck!

Okay good to know! Going to try to have some patience here. The only scary thing is that I look at $$$'s all day on spreadsheets so hopefully I don't mess anything up due to poor vision hah. My week follow up is Thursday. So glad he can see better than he'd imagined!

I've got a question... So this is my first month using OPKs. My obgyn wants me to start using them on cd:14 even though the earliest I've ever ovulated was on day 24. Do I test twice a day or just once a day? In the morning or evening?
@fitlady21 : I started mine on CD14 because that's what my CNM recommended. I don't think I've ever ovulated before CD20. I've started testing 3 times a day, but I have yet to see even close to +OPK. When it doubt keep peeing on the sticks.

My uterus is being a total dick this cycle and I'm ready to move onto the next one. GET IT TOGETHER, UTE. On the bright side, H pointed out recently that he actually likes this whole "making a baby sex" thing because it's a fun challenge. So that was unexpected and adorable.

GTKY: A horrible reminder showed up on my TimeHop recently. I dyed my hair (at home, natch) this dark auburn color. I thought I looked SO good but it totally fried my hair. And I have fair skin with olive skin tones so I had no business in that red anyway. It was NOT cute.

And they all let out blood curdling screams! Anybody? Man, I loved that movie! Anywho, I've done a bit of hair modeling and so I've naturally had some very questionable styles/coloring from electric orange to those horrible low-lights from 2005. But my worst was from Vidal Sassoon in London. They gave me an asymmetrical bob: one-side was buzz-cut short, the other - chin-length. It was cute and edgy in London, but when I returned home (to my very red state), all my friends giggled. Somehow, I still managed to to land a boyfriend with that haircut, but even he referred to it as my "special mullet tail." Before returning to school, I chopped off my "tail", though that wasn't a huge improvement. I still see women from time to time with that style and shudder/cringe. I'm pretty sure the only people that can pull that off are punk rockers and motorcycle chicks. (Confession: I still use Sun-In!)

  • *****TRIGGER WARNING: Infant troubleshooting and breast feeding mentioned below****

@PrimRoseMama Everytime I see your siggy, I get irrationally jealous that you're still breastfeeding! DS self-weaned at 17 months and I almost cried. I miss that connection with him. And thanks for the condolences. He's cutting two of his two year molars and I think he's coming down with a cold, so I'm expecting tonight to be rough too!
@PeggyOlsonFTW : SUPER HUGE HUGS! Breast feeding was a heart breaking experience for me with DD the first time around. Like, I struggled and slaved. At 4 months I said "fuck it" for my mental health and really hers too. We just struggled and cried and had so much anxiety surrounding feedings that it was miserable. So going to formula was amazing for us.

DS has nursed like a champ from the moment he popped out and it has been such an amazing relationship. DD and I have our own amazing relationship too, but BF for DS has been so much easier and rewarding. That's part of the reason I'm in no hurry to wean. Even if it means that it takes a long time to get pregnant with my third. I consider it worth it to go until he's ready to wean. I'll be honest and say I'm not ready to stop either, but if DS self-weaned tomorrow I would have my Weaning Depression and do my best to get on with life. I feel for you though because I think if he stopped before I was ready for him to that I would feel the same.

Does my signature bother you? Real talk: I don't want to hurt people with it. I'm proud of my BF journey but I think (just like my TTC and pregnancy history) that sometimes you just get hit with dumb luck and things work. So I'm proud in that I enjoy it and its a special thing for me-- but not proud in that I think I'm better than FF moms or moms that choose to wean earlier. I hope that makes sense?

Anywho, thank you for the response here. I know what its like to have the infant/toddler who is sicker than a dog and you KNOW that the night is going to just suck so much ass. Molars are the god damned devil and a cold on top of it is not cool. Here's to hoping you don't catch the cold and that whatever sleep you get is restful.

WAYDTGKU: Right now, just temping. Will start OPKs probably at CD 10 even though I have never O'ed earlier than CD 18. I don't know what my body will do this cycle.

R/R/CS: OMG non-TTC related rant: my dog is having her AF. It is a gross state of affairs because she has digestive issues when AFing. I woke up this morning to dog barf city and then worse. I had to shampoo the carpets and wash her crate in the back yard. And it's cold. I am super annoyed with DH because he insisted that we wait until the dog is 18 months to spay her. He has done the research and determined that waiting will lower her risk of hip dysplasia (it's common in her breed). Considering he made this decision I feel that he should be the one shampooing dog diarrhea thankyouverymuch. He is making up for it by very sweetly making DS watch the MLK I Have a Dream speech with him (and getting all teary about it).

GTKY: Um, my mom forced me to have short bowl haircuts throughout childhood. It was really quite unfortunate. I also had a perm in fifth grade. Then in college I had a very short hair phase, which was a terrible look for me. A TERRIBLE look.

@LittleMissTimeLordI'm sorry your ute is being a dick. Kind of an interesting visual. ::D

@MRSCORKER I'm sorry you have to TTA this cycle! I bet the trip will be so much fun though.

@Marley629I feel you on the kid in the bed thing. My DS is almost 7 and he still sometimes crawls into bed with us. I can get him back into his own bed easily, but it still interrupts things.

@tamalahoopsI'm with you on the app hate. I am almost always on the app, and I've had to learn to copy every post before trying to post it, because 9/10 times it says, "you don't have permission to do that" and I have to refresh the page five times before it works.

@teamginger13I hope you get some answers soon and that you don't have to wait too long. I know how frustrating waiting can be.

@strickland8052I think the line has to be as dark or darker to be positive. That being said, you could totally ovulate without having a positive OPK.

  • Month/Cycle: 5/2

    CD: 46

WAYDTGKU: temping, PNV, sex, OPKs, calling my doctor soon

R/R/CS: just annoyed that my body isn't doing anything... I stopped my birth control in September to give myself 3 months before TTC and now I'm in the fifth month off birth control and I haven't ovulated or gotten a period without Provera. Ugh!

GTKY: I've had several... My mom cutting my bangs when I was young was bad but I think my bob in grade school was the worst. I have super thick hair so I call it my "yield sign" haircut since it would be a big triangle. And to top it off, I had to wear prescription goggles to play sports so it was icing on the cake!

R/R/CS: Just waiting on one more high temp to confirm O...

GTKY: What was your most embarrassing hairstyle? Ohh man... any time I had blunt bangs, and also when I was like 13 my mom took me to this awful hairstylist. Naturally, my hair is an ash blond, and she took me to get it highlighted. The dude bleached all of my hair without toning it, and then gave me the most choppy, awfully-layered cut ever. It was awful.

  • Pitching in here, because APPARENTLY I'm not officially in the TWW until I've had three high temperatures. (Sorry. N00b move. But I really do think I O'd yesterday.)

    Month/Cycle: 1/1

    CD: 16

WAYDTGKU: PNV's and letting DH take it easy after last week's flurry of BD'ing.

R/R/CS: Happy to see that temp spike this morning. Also, I've been taking rx-strength ibuprofen for tooth pain following a root canal retreatment. I really didn't want to be on it, because (and I think I said this yesterday, so sorry for repeating myself) I read it can mess with implantation. But! Today I haven't taken any. Hooray!

GTKY: What was your most embarrassing hairstyle? Ugh. My years-long bowl cut I got because I wanted to be JUST LIKE my big sister.

  • @PeggyOlsonFTW @PrimRoseMama @atcwag I am planning to exclusively breastfeed at least the 6 months if possible, and see how we do, hoping not to need formula, but I understand everyone's journey is different. I also hope to find a great LC to help through those difficult times, too, because I think it really is that important.

I never knew about extended-rear-facing. Are there any that work with the whole stroller/travel combo? I really wanted the KeyFit30, which claims to fit a child only up to 30 lbs, the stroller claims to go up to 50 lbs, as does the jogger, from 6 mos-50lbs. Does that sound okay, and then from 30+ I'd just have to have a different car seat and swap the child into the stroller. I've never had a kid before, so I'm still trying to figure out some of these logistic things. Maybe even PM me if this seems like not a super WTO-friendly topic? I dunno. Or like with sleep-training, which seems crazy to me, apparently various levels of co-sleeping are even considered controversial, but I also heard that it's safe, (as long as the adult bedding is appropriate), and really that's the point if you are BF that the child can reach a nipple any time without disturbing everyone's night too much. Ammiright? we have a mini-crib in mind that we would start out possibly strapping to the side of the bed like a co-sleeper and then eventually putting up the 4th wall and pushing it against the very nearby wall maybe, (like arms length away), and/or switching to the toddler bed. idk

  • @BusinessWife I bought Moontime Tea Feetility blend? Lol I'm just gonna give it a go and see. What kind do you use? I also have been drinking green tea but I'll stop that after a positive opk based on the convos yesterday. Ps I am a huge proponent of extended rear facing. DS is almost 2.5 and still rear facing. My goal is a minimum of age 3 but will keep it going until he hits the limits.

  • @teamginger13 I am so sorry about this fiasco you are going through. Hopefully the RE will be able to help you figure out what's going on. Until then, as hard as it is, try to relax and take extra care of yourself. <<hugs>>

@Marley629 What tea did you get?

@tamalahoops I hate it too! I have resigned myself to just looking at it if I want to read up but I don't even bother trying to respond. If it let's me LOVE anything, then I feel like I'm winning.

@DCHokiemom Yay! 5 lbs is a great start! 6 lbs in 3 weeks is averaging 2 lbs/week which it totally awesome and healthy, too! Can you do another 21 day fix back to back if you are enjoying it?
Yes, I am going to keep at it until I lose all the weight I want, then switch to maintenance mode. For my next fix I am going to focus more on the workouts. I have worked out this time around, but not like the program calls for.

  • @Marley629 @BusinessWife I'm thinking of trying a tea but it scares me that I'll mess something up instead of help it! Have you read into it?

@MissAmeliaPond I feel ya. I shave or wax mine. I'm Italian decent and look it if you catch my drift. Awesome thick wavy hair on my head, super thick dark eyelashes...... And I need to get my eyebrows and upper lip taken care of on a regular basis.
