@mamacastro maybe it is their way of anxiousness of pending baby? He did mention before how every text or call I give him sends him into panic mode that I'm in labor. Awwwww.
When we played the redskins I yelled "go baby go!" Or something like that and my husband came flying into the room freaking out. I'm restricted from word usage now. I totally get their anxiety though. They don't know what our bodies are feeling, and to be honest I don't think a lot of us do either.
I had constant nausea throughout the first trimester but only threw up like 4 times. Well I threw up again today and I just feel like my body has turned against me with all the misery of these last weeks. This sucks.
@summererdvig I don't think your reaction was anything but appropriate. It doesn't matter what's going on, no one should make a comment about your age for ANY reason. It's not like you went out and hand picked to have this happen to you. I can't even imagine all the nerves toj have coming up about everything. I hope it all goes well, and when your LO grows up and you tell them all about this adventure that you will be a hero in your child's eyes. To take care of a baby and yourself is hard enough. To do this all while recovering and unable to see? That's something only the super strong mommies can do.
@thisusername thank you for your kind words!!! I'm hoping she never ever has to experience what I am going through, and that all of the pictures my family will take can fill in the blanks for me when this is all over. Her first year will be "a fog" for me, but I'm hoping it will make me a stronger person/mother. If I can learn to do it without my vision, it should be a piece of cake when I can finally see
I'm so happy to know it wasn't just my hormones and that the nurse was out of line!
DH and I went to pick up DD from my moms today. She offered to watch Her for a few days since I was sick(super helpful) and we could finish the nursery. Anyways while we were there MIL calls and insists were at the hospital in labor. We literally saw her yesterday and told her our plan for today and it's like she didn't believe us. I hope I don't have 3 more weeks of these phone calls....And DH wonders why I don't want to call his mother when we're in labor

Does she think you're incapable of knowing when you're in labor..? That's kind of weird..

Sounds like she thinks they are intentionally hiding the labor from her. Which, from the sounds of it, might be necessary anyways. Ugh. Why can't MIL's respect boundaries?!

I don't get it! I am SO lucky with my MIL that she isn't crazy and she does whatever I want her to do. I guess that's a perk of her having 6 kids.. She knows it's annoying? I wish everyone had someone like her! Sorry you ladies have to deal with this BS. MY mother is the crazy one!!! Lol .
How about how rude and nasty some of the other moms can be on here?!?! I come to this board looking for advice, and all I ever see is people being nasty to those of us who have never done this before.
Mine too!!!!! I think the baby is going to come before the shower, and she keeps telling me that she has to wait to come until after. Seriously? It's not my fault you procrastinated and chose to set a baby shower the week before my due date!

@pbtoast by the way, love your profile photo. I'm slightly worried my baby will come out of the womb saying lines from CYE because partner and I are such big Larry David fans.

Hahah yes! I love Larry David. There are definitely worse things than a baby that comes out familiar with CYE if you ask me:)

I don't think anyone was mean and nasty towards your post. They responded truthfully. No one is able to tell when you will go into labour, and your symptoms you described weren't abnormal or telling of anything at all.
Btw, I'm so thankful for this board. I've been wasting time reading the February forum at babycenter and it's like a train wreck. Seriously. I don't even know why I've been reading the posts. If one more person writes "I'm 2cm dilated.. this baby will be coming early!!" I might poke my eyes out. And the other questions that get posted in there are insane. And everyone is so nice in their responses, while I'm rolling my eyes. Thank you all for being normal and realistic.
Baby #3 due February. Dx with Spina Bifida Myelo "good things are coming down the road, just don't stop walking"
Is it bad that I'm actually rage crying at the way this game ended!? Jeeze hormones! But man WHAT A GAME!! Anyone have some good sore throat remedies? I have yelled WAY too much!

It's an Internet forum of pregnant women. If you want rainbows, butterflies and 100% agreement post on your Facebook to family and friends. I love the honesty and knowledge I've gained from being here.

That game was such a cluster! Like oh wow Fitzgerald is open again? Shocker! Packers played so awfully they didn't deserve another Hail Mary oh my goodness.

Our defense completely gave up it seemed. You don't just "accidentally" leave one of their best players open. We left him wide open on the goal line too! He pretty much just walked across! I mean what?! It was an intense watch. I was just getting ready to tell my husband the final score and that we lost and then BAM touchdown! Only to have my dreams crushed by a lack of defense!! I was hoping to make it farther, I wanted my baby to see them play, but dang. What a way to go out. And the coin not flipping? That was something else.
my DD's brownie troop is pissing me off they are trying to tell me that there is a minimum amount for boxes of cookies she has to sell I'm like WTF hell no I was cookie mom last year and that is BS. I told them she doesn't have to participate if she doesn't want to and if they keep pressuring me I'm reporting them to the council. I swear I have gotten several texts saying we need to pick up our cookies to sell. I told them we didn't order any in fact we can't start selling until Monday! So why do I need them NOW????? Yeah I'm annoyed.
My troop leaders did stuff like this to my mom and I until I wound up hating it and quit. It's really terrible what some people do, but I'm glad you know the rules and know how to handle it! I don't get why they feel the need to pressure little girls who just want to have fun and go through the experiences that brownies/Girl Scouts has to offer
And on a side note.. If/when you do sell cookies.... I like cookies... (Couldn't resist!)

H and I really believe baby will come out recognizing and responding to Larry David's voice. We rewatched all the Curb episodes over the pregnancy. Likely her first words will be, "Pretty, pretty, pretty good."

Hopefully she didn't pick up too much from the episode with the grand opening of the restaurant Larry invested in. With the chef who had Tourette's. Although those would also be great first words. "French kissing!!"

I want my SIL to go jump off a bridge. My baby shower was not the time to make snide remarks about what it takes to be a good mother. One, my SIL can shove it. Two, it doesn't make it any better that she was talking sh*t to make her own mom feel bad. You're 25 - it's time to get over the fact that she didn't make all your soccer games as a kid. I have to deal with her negative nancy oh-poor-me dramas every other time I see her - couldn't she have at least pretended to be a moderately mannered human being for 3 HOURS?!
The only positive is that my girlfriends finally got to see a glimpse of how immature and wacko she is. Because for a while my in laws felt like a sitcom not real life.
@lilqt3929 my baby shower, planned by my MIL will be two weeks before my due date. I wish I could have said no thanks, I definitely don't have the energy!
Due to many scheduling conflicts, mine is one week before my due date. I'm terrified! Here's hoping we make it
So I officially started my leave of absence of work on Saturday. Its not technically maternity leave since its part time. All they're doing is just taking me off the schedule till ready to come back. Apparently because of this my co-worker thought it would be appropriate to text me at 1030 last night asking if I would want to take her shift for today. Umm wow, I couldn't believe I couldn't even make it two days without her trying to get out of a shift. Of course I told her no I'm busy and very much done working till after baby.. But yeah, it definitely irked me.

Wow thats awful! I'm so sorry she's bugging you when you're done working til after baby. Some people just don't have any common sense.

Thanks. She did apologize but i just don't think she gets how when you're 8 and half months pregnant and you tell yourself you're done with work for now, you mean it!
Ugh...I'm 37 weeks and decided since I've been working out for most of my pregnancy I would go to my usual yoga class. Today was the day I pulled an ab muscle! I didn't feel it until a couple of hours later, but I had to have done it at class. The pain is ridiculous, so please be careful as you all reach the end! I think I scared my husband because I started sobbing because I couldn't get comfortable. I hope I can work tomorrow, but teaching middle school kids with this pain doesn't sound appealing at all.

My maternity replacement decided today that she was going to change her availability (and be a total botch about it) so she got fired (for many other reasons too.. Disaster..) and now I'm training someone tomorrow yet again, thanks boss.. Mine wasn't asked though, I was told. My training time is unpaid and I have been struggling to walk. TOTALLY feel the irk in this situation! What a turd monkey. Don't you kind of wish that maternity leave puts a huge wall of safety around you and that no one can bug you?!
Got in a HUGE argument with H tonight. So tonight he called to say good night to our girls and he told me he has been given 10 days paternity leave and he doesn't want to take it. He said he might be home for "The Surgery" that's what he is calling it. Yes Im having a csection but seriously I am giving birth to our kid it's not just a frickin SURGERY!!!! I decided to not to argue anymore and I hung up. So now I'm not sure when he will call again or even answer if I call. Also don't know if he will be home for the birth, oh my bad, "the surgery". How depressed can one person make another especially when when one of them is 9 months freakin pregnant.
@thisusername we started selling cookies today. If you would like I can send you my kids link because now they are doing online sales. Let me know. Lol. Thank you for understanding the craziness of girl scouts.

Whaaaat?? Why wouldn't he want to be there AND take the time off?!
Super irritated and tired. I started having regular, painful contractions at about 2:30 this morning. I was resting but not able to sleep. The contractions seem to have slowed down (but are still just as painful) so I'm going to work.
Here's to hoping my water doesn't break on the shuttle.
@Achae yes he is a state away. @AdventureMama we have been having issues with his feelings towards the pregancy from the start and it escalated last night. Of course I'm livid and hormonal and tired because I can't sleep it just made things worse. I really am beside myself on what to do.
