I compiled my to-do list and emailed a photographer today. That's about it so far. DD is at the ILs next weekend, so hopefully we can be super productive then in the nursery. It's hard to get that stuff done since DD's either awake and not capable of being around wet paint, or sleeping in said nursery
I did not even think about setting this up in advance....When are nb pics general taken?
I bit DH's head off last night because I said the nesting bug was making me go insane (we are moving at the start of March) and he said "yeah, me too. That's been really hard lately." I asked if he even knew what nesting was and he said "It's wanting to hold him, right?" No!!!!!! I want to hold him too, but here I was thinking that hubby was excited to get to WORK and then have my hopes dashed...

@yodiggity not sure if she was talking about maternity photos or newborn photos - but a lot of the newborn photographers I've researched say within the first two weeks is best for newborn pics, and tentatively scheduled about a month out with the understanding that schedules need to be flexible.
Aaaaand....after my rant yesterday, I came home from work to find DH had cleared a great deal of junk out of the future nursery, organized the clothes, and was organizing which pictures we want on LO's walls. I really won the jackpot with this guy.

allaire314 gotcha. We did a mini maternity session at 23 weeks and I plan to do an actual maternity session once I get big big. The mini was kind of a trial run since it was so cheap (we paid $20 total) and I'm glad we did it because although we got some pictures to put on fb, the photographer is a flake and I'm still waiting on the files so that I can get a few prints. She offered to do the newborn pics and I told her I'd let her know (hell no).
@yodiggity we are doing something similar - got a Groupon on the cheap for maternity pics... I mainly want them so we can make Thank You cards for our shower - not sure what else to do with preggo pics... but also as a trial run for a newborn photographer because that's the one that's going to matter!
I played hooky from work yesterday and painted the inside of baby's closet purple...i don't know why but whatever, it's cute with the grey walls. I also got a huge part of the massive laundry pile rewashed and folded but not yet put away. SO can handle that part. I also cleaned the kitchen and living room. I felt very accomplished yesterday. I've not had that much energy in weeks.
We plan to have the house deep cleaned by week 35 and then will get a maid to come in probably a week before delivery to do a once over and get everything dusted one more time before baby comes home.

I'd like to have one printed to put in the nursery. I think though mostly they're for the baby to see what we were "like" while we were waiting on her. It's kind of funny to see pictures of my mom pregnant, I'm not really sure why. Maybe the clothes or how her hair was....I dunno. Maybe because they're so rare (i'm the third child so not many pictures by the time I came around). My 9 year old niece got a kick out of seeing pregnancy pictures of my sister a few weeks ago when we were comparing sonograms.

NB pictures (where they're all curled up and sleeping) are typically between 5-14 days old, preferably about a week. But you can do "lifestyle" (where they may be awake but getting snuggled etc) longer. I was emailing extra early because we're hoping to set up a custom package to replicate what we did with DD (NB, 4 mo, 8mo and 1 year) so I wanted extra time to chat about it. Most NB photographers put your due date on their calendar when they get the retainer/deposit and then you contact them when you actually have the baby to schedule for sometime soon. If/when you ask around, be sure to read their policy for preemies etc.

If you are looking for the sleepy, bendy pictures ... NO MORE than 10 days after delivery. (Some babies start "waking up" as early as 8 days.)
When scheduling NB picture sessions, keep in mind that they can take 3-4 hours for the session as getting baby into position can take 10-15 minutes per pose and that you will likely take breaks for feeding and soothing. The room should be hot (helps baby stay sleepy) so have water for you! Also, have an idea for special blankets, hats, etc. that you might want to use.
Lastly, please PLEASE do your research on the photographer and check into references / prior clients. There are some baby poses that should only be done by an experienced photographer who can safely set up the pose. The poses where baby is "supporting their head in/ on their hands" and where baby is "wrapped in muslin hanging from a branch" are COMPOSITE shots where baby is really being supported by a parents' hand and edited out after. There are very few photographers who can safely shoot these poses in one shot. So if you find a photographer who wants to do these in one shot, I would really question if they know what they are doing.
I am waiting to hear back from one more photography but I think we've found who we are going to hire and I'm sooo excited!!
Also, I randomly started finger knitting last night. I've got a collection of strands that I just need to piece together. I'll probably finish that this weekend.
SO stained the floors but then I painted the closet and dribbled paint on the unsealed floor. The clean up left a haze so he ended up having to sand down the entire floor again and will restain it this weekend. Whoops. Though the floor is going to look better I think because the stain held on to the wood grain so the grain is going to look awesome.
My nesting is in full force almost by accident. We are getting hardwood floors installed on our whole upstairs level. We had to special order parts that I thought would take a while to get here. I figured we would have plenty of time to paint. Turns out it only took 5 days and they want to come Monday to install!!! My husband has to rip up carpet in 2 bedrooms and move all furniture downstairs into our spare bedroom which already is a tight fit with all of the nursery furniture. It will be nice to have it all done and set up next week though.
Three day weekend is here and I'm itching to do some decorating!!!! Finally painting my daughters room. She will be one mext week. Clearly it's past due time. And I'm going to raid ikea and Ross to do some fun things to her wall I found on Pinterest!! I'm so excited I can hardly stand it! Cleared out more crap from my house last night this time from my kitchen. (Happy dance) Also investing in bins to organize all the baby clothes my friend passed on to me for the baby into sizes so it's easy to pull out and use.
Per doctors orders I'm not allowed to bend, squat, lift, or really do anything and will likely be on bed rest soon. It's torture not being able to clean my house like I used to. I see 500 things I'd like to accomplish and I'm forced to just sit on my ass. I fought the urge to rearrange my glasses in the cabinets to make room for bottles today. The struggle is real
I totally suck at this. I'm sitting on the couch eating lava pockets (pizza rolls) from a paper plate, staring at a chewed up dog toy that has been there for hours waiting to be cleaned up. I'm too tired to do nursery anything. Hopefully I catch the bug soon!!

I caught it for about two weeks, then I hit 3rd tri and I don't have the energy to do anything. Leaving the house for anything other than work has become an accomplishment. It'll come back!
We moved to a bigger place the 1st week of 2016, and the nursing bug bit me so I ordered a year's worth of onsies, footed PJs, hats, socks and mittens - a selection of new, used, handmedowns. Now that the shower gifts have started to come in I'm ordering more stuff to get the baby room ready. I almost toppled over forward while picking up a pen that fell so I'm trying to get a lot of this done before I get any bigger. I'm hoping all gifts come in before the shower on Feb 20th so everything will be set up a month ahead of baby's arrival!
I'm chomping at the bit to get the nursery set up but we have to paint first and that is happening next weekend. I can't wait! Aside from that I'm waiting until my shower where I hope we'll get most of our stuff then the organizing will commence!! I'm worried about washing clothes too early bc what if my baby is huge and none of the newborn stuff fits but I already took the tags off and washed it?? I'm afraid of being stuck with a bunch of stuff baby will never wear.
Does anyone use a cleaning service? I feel like it would be so nice to have someone come do a deep clean of the house before the baby comes, but is it worth it? Groupon and living social have deals for cleaning services all the time so I'm intrigued...
@AmadorRose I know!!! I just always wonder if it's worth it I feel like there's always a weird catch with those things in the fine print but maybe not!!
@spatter1 I was laughing at a coed baby shower I went to yesterday because the dad ripped open and had to get up close and personal with almost every gift they received. No way you can possibly return some of that stuff with him around haha
Nesting goes hand in hand with my personality, but I am just not there yet. I taped off the room but haven't bought the paint yet. Maybe the nesting bug will hit soon? For now I'd rather just prop my feet up while I can!
I'm just excited because we're finally almost done with the nursery. And by that, I mean we've only got about 1 more weekend of work to do, and wait then wait for the furniture to get here. I'm trying so hard not to buy things like clothes and all the adorable extras that I want but put on my registry, since my showers aren't until late February...I just hope that I'm still motivated to get things done at that point.
@spatter1 I had cleaning services come twice after my miscarriage and it was amazing. BUT, they did use some cleaning products that disturbed me with the smell and made me itch afterwards (I have sensitive skin). So my advice would be, go for it, but be clear that they bring baby-friendly cleaning products. Or you could say they will need to clean with the products you have at home and provide them with the baby-friendly products.

I'm 29 weeks and started packing the baby's bag for the hospital with items I wanted to make sure we wouldn't forget - baby book for footprints, matching bows for her outfits, etc. Other than that, I've been dying to start going through my other two daughters' bins of baby clothing, but I just can't seem to muster up the energy. Between working two jobs and caring for my three other children, I'm just too tired!
We finally have the stuff moved out of the storage room and so we have space for a nursery. I am looking into painting now. Finally feel like we are making some headway!

I've reached that point in nesting where I've decided that every inch my house is digesting and needs to be meticulously scrubbed. However, my energy level lets me start a "project" and abandon it thus creating more mess. Why do we have so much stuff in our houuuuussse!!
I have had the nesting bug wicked bad for the last week, but I can't do anything else until DH moves a bunch of furniture and boxes to the basement. I'm hoping once our baby furniture arrives he'll be as motivated as I am to get things done.
I've washed all of the blankets and sheet we've gotten so far. I'm kind of leering to wash any clothes as I am afraid to 'waste' too many newborn sized items in case homegirl is a porker.
