  • @egraves4 I feel your pain. I never ate mcds before. And it's my weekly thing now. I think we get a little buffer time... Right?!
  • it's so stupid, but i'm like really mad about the fact that i finally went to the store and got a gallon of strawberry ice cream, which i had been craving, and it's super bland and tastes like vanilla. screw this natural flavors crap. i'm going for the added flavoring next time.

  • Can I call the dean of my school and just scream "f**k you" super loud? Apparently if I go though with taking time off for the baby next course I will dropped from my university. Having a baby isn't adequate enough reason to take time off from classes. Online or not , that's complete BS.
  • @dragonfly321 I would say so lol.  Unfortunately my gym has a daycare option so I can't really use that as an excuse not to go... of course that is after at least a few weeks of recovery and transitioning to being a momma!

  • omg vagina zingers yes
  • I'm sick of waddling. I'm sick of being +45 pounds. I'm sick of being in pain.

Tonight, I went to the mall just for fun to try to spend some Christmas money. I was totally the paranoid, delusional unsub from Criminal Minds who is sure everyone is staring at them, every group of teens laughing is poking fun at my waddle. I am pathetic.

Thank you for the criminal minds comparison. I actually pictured that perfectly and know Exactly what you mean!
Although now I really want to watch tv..
  • I have a bad husband complaint today. He gets home from work so I tell him what the doctor said today and tell him what is going on and he just walks away and goes into the bedroom and begins to take his works clothes off. Call me old fashioned but that is a biiiiiig pet peeve to me - to walk away as someone is talking to you...No, its so rude. He has been good up to these last couple weeks but now he is annoying me.
  • Braxton Hicks all week. Oh... and the best part of today... totally got an f-ing yeast infection. As if being 35w6d wasn't fun enough! So I haul my ass to Walgreens tonight to get some Monistat and now I've got fire crotch from the ovule!! Serenity now!!
  • So I think I did it...I think I actually broke my recliner! Wow I'm so proud. I heard a sort of cracking sound and now it rocks all shifty like. It guess it just couldn't take the weight anymore. If I listened closely, I could probably have heard it scream out in pain. Sadly it's the only comfortable sitting position in my house. Guess I'll just have to stand in the corner for the next few weeks so I don't break anymore furniture...
  • I am so full of rage! My poor husband gets the brunt of it but IMO it's deserved. I'm due soon, have bad SPD yet I take care of our daughter before and after work, he sleeps in and whines if if "wake him" and whines if I ask him to come to bed instead of letting him stay up and play video games. I tell him probably three times a day "you are a parent now. You don't get to do that." And yet he does because I find it's easier to do it myself than deal with his whining. But seriously, when do I get to "sleep in"? I'm just hoping this isn't a precursor to PPD.

Ugh, I'm sorry. My husband recently took 3 weeks vacation so that he wouldn't lose it at the end of the year. He "slept in" every day except 2 or 3. I got up with the kids. He only really got an extra 45 minutes or so most days, but I started to resent him big time. Sleep is serious business when you're this pregnant!

that totally sucks his company wouldn't make an exception to let him roll the three weeks over til after the baby came.

  • Every time I complain to my husband about anything he magically is having the exact same problem! It's become sort of a joke for me... But totally obnoxious. Why can't his reply just be I'm sorry honey just sit down put your feet up let me get you some ice cream??? Evidence: Me: "Ughhh ive had a headache on and off all week." Him: "I have too. Not sure why." (Actual text) Me: "I slept like shit last night. Couldn't get comfortable and had to get up to pee a bunch." Him: "I know right I'm totally exhausted today." (((Oh REALLY))) Me: "it's hard for me to bend down do you mind picking up the trash so I can vacuum?" Him: "my back hurts really bad can you get me some Aleve? Then maybe I can help." (Tonight's gem) It's s good thing he's cute.
This is the worst!  I have a coworker that does this constantly!
  • I've posted about it before, but I have a rare degenerative eye syndrome that requires a transplant be done after the birth of our daughter, and another transplant be done several months after the first.

At a check up today with my opthamoligist, (of course pregnancy has not been kind to my eyes so they are THE WORST they have ever been) and I can't read a single line of the screen that's 6 feet across the room from me. The nurse is insisting I can, and forcing me to "guess". Fine. Whatever. She is trying to do her job. But then....

Half way through my exam while seeing me struggle to make out the letter "F" she checks my chart, because I guess I'm just so blind she was in awe, and goes "wow you're only 21?! That's soooo young to have his syndrome"

Wow. Thanks. I wasn't fucking aware. I'm due any week now with a baby I won't be able to see, while battling a rare syndrome that effects people 60+. Keep your comments to yourself. I know this is rare, my doctor knows this is rare- hell! Any active poster on this board knows it's rare!! It's all I can think about it consumes my life. I don't know how I'm going to see my daughter, or care for her, and how well the surgery will work. But encase I wasn't already stressed out, let's remind me that I'm "too young" to be having these medical issues.

I realize I'm hormonal and she probably wasn't that out of line for commenting, but I've crying since I left. I'm usually emotional after these visits, and even more so the closer we get to her arrival, but the comment just made the appointment so much worse.

Sorry for the language in my GIF, it's just too perfect to not post

  • @summererdvig I was just thinking of you the other day wondering if you'd had your baby yet and how you were recovering. What an awful nurse :(

Yeah mine took off most of December to use up vacation but I still woke up, took our daughter to daycare, etc. Normally he travels M-F so I'm used to the no help, I just get really irritated when he IS home and I get no help. I'm a saint, I swear lol.

@Achae Nope, not yet she is still cookin! Yeah, I'd like to chalk it up to hormones but at the same time, pregnant or not, I feel like it was an unprofessional comment to make. IVE been diagnosed with it, does she really think I haven't researched it and am not aware of how rare it is?? Uncalled for. I will be requesting any nurse but her from now on lol

Thanks for thinking of me an LO!! Hope the end of pregnancy is treating you well. We're almost there!!! :-)
  • I have been having really painful contractions that are 10 mins apart for several hours for two days now. But they never progressed, and just stopped. This made me totally panic about how unprepared I am for the arrival of this baby. I was induced at 41 weeks last time, so I had been naively thinking that this one will go to at least 40 weeks. I don't even have a single newborn size diaper at home and she just has some summer clothes from her brother who was a summer baby, but nothing warm in newborn or 0-3 months size. We haven't even taken the carseat out of the storage. I am panicking big time. I just ordered diapers from amazon and told my husband that he needs to get all the baby stuff out of storage TODAY.
oh, and let me vent here. I knew this was going to happen when I asked my mom to get a flu vaccine. She got it on Tuesday and called me yesterday to tell me that she got the flu from the flu vaccine. The symptom?  sore throat and runny nose. That's it. I tried to explain to her that 1) that's probably just an onset of a cold that we all had recently and 2) you medically cannot get the flu from the flu vaccine. But no. she's convinced that she has the flu. from the vaccine.  It's going to be really hard to deal with her when she gets her Tdap and claims that she has the whooping cough from that vaccine.

It drives me insane when people claim that. Ugh, do some research people and you'll see how that works. DH just got his flu shot a few weeks ago and even the pharmacist said now if you already have the flu this wont protect you from it and it can take up to x days for this to be fully effective. I haven't asked the inlaws to get vaccinated (my parents have already without us asking), BIL and SIL asked them already to get vaccinated since they were going down to visit their newborn daughter in October and it didn't go over very well. It kind of makes me upset since they live out of state (12hr drive) and rarely see them but with our newborn they will likely see several times during flu season (and whooping cough) but I still dont want to ask them to do it :/.
  • TP to this dizziness I've been having, as if I don't feel yucky enough. It just makes it even harder to do much and care for my 2yo DD. Also, TP to MIL who asked if she could be in the delivery room when DS is born and then proceeded to bring up BIL's wife who let her own Mother and sister in for her birth (they live out of state so no way to know if she would have allowed MIL if she was able to be there). Since DH's paternal grandmother was standing right there with us I should have asked if she let her MIL in for the birth (I'm pretty sure she didn't) just to put her on the spot). I told her DH and I did just fine when DD was born and that we liked it just us. DH said she can come in right after he is born (which I planned on waiting at least an hour for skin to skin/BF like last time) and that wasn't good enough. Ugh. MIL also asked DH if I wanted a baby sprinkle 2 weeks ago, um thanks for the offer but I'm due in 2 weeks and certainly have no energy for that right now.
  • @lilqt3929 my baby shower, planned by my MIL will be two weeks before my due date. I wish I could have said no thanks, I definitely don't have the energy!
The damn party is pretty much the bane of my existence at this point. My MIL mentioned my registry (to the guest list I didn't get to help with) but pretty much told her friends to come to her for ideas. I love this lady, but I am not into surprises at this point of my pregnancy . We have a very tiny house, everything is about efficiency and reducing clutter . stresssssss!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • @summererdvig I'm sorry you have to go through what you're going through. I wish you all the best!
  • @TheBeesBonnett although super nice and very generous, I'm so sorry that you have to deal with all that this late in pregnancy! I hope you have some help with all that comes after the shower! Maybe it'll be a good distraction from the aches and pains this late in the game.

hopefully you will get stuff you can return/exchange. Our house is small too so I was worried about people just getting random stuff. My MIL heard me out and I know she encouraged people to use the registry, and some stuff people got us wasn't on there but I was like oh well we could use this, but some stuff was just bulky and unnecessary and all that stuff went back onto gift cards.

I got a bunch of non-registry stuff at my last shower. Some I'm keeping, but others I want to return - but I have no idea where people got it since they didn't include gift receipts. What stores are good about taking stuff back if you don't know where it came from? I'd be thrilled with store credit since I can use it for baby clothes and diapers, but don't want to haul a bunch of stuff from store to store to see who will take what...
  • @mcklough Gift cards! You're right! In my hormonal fog I completely forgot. I thought I was going to be eBays slave if it came to too much kitsch ! Thank you !

I would look on their website to make sure they have it first. I was lucky that I got gift receipts too so I'm not too helpful.

You might be able to spot different store tags/stickers on some items. For example I got a bunch of outfits from Macys that all had their special sticker on it so I knew it came from there

  • @sparksfly if you can't decipher from the tags/barcodes who carries it, Walmart and Kohls have good return policies for that (no receipt, credit for the current or lowest price, have to show an ID though I believe).
  • my DD's brownie troop is pissing me off they are trying to tell me that there is a minimum amount for boxes of cookies she has to sell I'm like WTF hell no I was cookie mom last year and that is BS. I told them she doesn't have to participate if she doesn't want to and if they keep pressuring me I'm reporting them to the council. I swear I have gotten several texts saying we need to pick up our cookies to sell. I told them we didn't order any in fact we can't start selling until Monday! So why do I need them NOW????? Yeah I'm annoyed.

@Karen249 thank you! You're very sweet. All the best to you and your LO as well ❤️

  • @summererdvig I don't think your reaction was anything but appropriate. It doesn't matter what's going on, no one should make a comment about your age for ANY reason. It's not like you went out and hand picked to have this happen to you. I can't even imagine all the nerves toj have coming up about everything. I hope it all goes well, and when your LO grows up and you tell them all about this adventure that you will be a hero in your child's eyes. To take care of a baby and yourself is hard enough. To do this all while recovering and unable to see? That's something only the super strong mommies can do.

As long as they haven't drastically changed policy recently, i can say this is correct for Kohls. That's how we did it when I worked there. People returned baby items without receipts all the time.
  • @Achae right there with you, what is wrong with our husbands lately?!
  • @mamacastro maybe it is their way of anxiousness of pending baby? He did mention before how every text or call I give him sends him into panic mode that I'm in labor. Awwwww.
