I worked retail for many years and met some people. I worked in a college town of a Big 10 school and rang out many of the members of the university basketball team. I never knew who they were until my coworkers would come up to them with receipt tape asking for their autograph. Ugh it was so awkward when people did that. Also the rapper Twista lived near one of the stores I worked at so he would come in. I've seen many local new anchors in my store as well. I also went to a papal audience back when John Paul II was pope and he was literally 5 feet away in the pope-mobile.

So I was up making rotel dip (something easy!) early this morning. I swear that man would forget his head if it wasn't attached to his body! Lol.
GTKY: I have met John and Hank Green. In college my roommate and I went to a reading of one of John's books and I got my copy autographed (and hanklerfished...In parentheses because I'm not sure if the crowd here will know about this or not). Hank said he liked my t-shirt. I may or may not have fangirled a bit.

No one yet. I would love to meet a great doctor or writer like Atul Gawande, Nicholas Kristof, Zeke Emanuel - just talk about life and issues in the world. I feel like celebrities would have a bunch of walls up and I am not a chit-chat kind of girl.

I used to work at a very popular resteraunt in jacksonville and I waited on all sorts of local celebs. Most 90s Jaguars like Tom Caughlin, Tony Bisselli, mark Brunell. Back when Limp Biskit was cool Fred Durst.
I also went to the premier of the movie Battleship (my dad worked on it) and met the whole cast. Alexander Skarsgard, Peter berg, Taylor Kitsch, Brooklyn Decker. Not Rihanna though, she was too cool. Peter berg bought me a beer at the after party and Alexander Skarsgards hands are the softest things ever. Oh and Liam Neeson grabbed my butt!

R/R/CS: So I bought a pack of FR OPKs that came with one straight handle FRER. I used it this morning and I have a very, super faint squinter that showed up within 3 minutes. I don't really trust it after what so many ladies have gone through with them and now I'm mad that I dumped my cup of pee. Also, my temp dipped again today.

This is the perfect question for today... about 4 years ago, I met Alan Rickman when he was in a play on Broadway. I waited after the show a the stage door and got his autograph and told him I had a crush on him. He gave me a sympathetic smile and moved on. RIP Snape

R/R/CS: Today is a really rough day. I have a really bad cold, so I started this morning feeling awful. Temp spiked way up this morning and even though I shouldn't pay any attention to it because of the aforementioned illness and waking up around 5am to pee (thus causing me not to want to POAS at 6:30, so at least that's something), but I couldn't help but think OMG TRIPHASIC CHART????? So then I got mad at myself for being a lunatic.
Burying the lede a bit here, but the really bad part of the day is that I found out first thing this morning that one of my students was hit by a car when he got off the bus yesterday. He's in critical condition and I'm so heartbroken and helpless. In some ways, it's really hard to be here at school today. In other ways, I just want to hold all my sweet children close to my heart and never let them go. Even the ones I hate.
GTKY: Have you ever met anyone famous? If you haven't, who would you love to meet? I used to work in the music industry, so I met a lot of famous people. I'd be delighted to talk about it at some point, but today is not that day.

R/R/CS: Nothing. I'm just in a bad spot right now. I'm still dealing with my health issues as well as being uncertain about when AF is going to show. I think @PocketFullofShells was right. She told me that I Od on CD30. I think I was super stressed with the ILs here over Christmas. It's so weird how something like that can affect your cycle so much. Anyway, huge temp drop this morning. I think I might get to move on to WTO tomorrow.
GTKY: Have you ever met anyone famous? If you haven't, who would you love to meet? I live in the middle of the country. I don't usually get to meet famous people. We do host some pretty awesome national sporting events. I did get to go to the US Swim Trials for the Beijing Olympics in 2008. It was so cool to see Michael Phelps swim. Omaha also hosts the College World Series of Baseball and I used to sell t-shirts on site, so I got to meet quite a few of the players as they came in to buy merchandise. I also got to meet Coach Tom Osbourne (From Nebraska) when I was younger, and while he's not a national celebrity, it was a pretty cool opportunity.
@LINDSEYRVA - I am so sorry to hear about your student. I don't think people realize how invested we get with our students. A former student from my school was shot just before winter break. He was standing outside his house when there was a drive-by a few doors down. A stray bullet hit him. The entire school was devastated. It just doesn't feel right to have to worry about someone so young getting hurt or dying. Thinking of you today.

@jhms776 FX for you! I don't like to test on weekdays, either. There are so many things I need DH to do around here, and then he tells me I'm not "reminding him" enough! Gahh! At least he cleaned the shower drain for me this morning so I could clean the tub and have a nice, fresh shower to step into, ;) But I know it was really only bc he was finally grossed out enough by standing in water last night himself. He may try to ride that one for a couple weeks though!!
