What's next: Appointsments/milestones/etc. my NT Test is scheduled for Friday 1/15
Rants/Raves/Symptoms: Nausea is still prominent and exhaustion. I am also short tempered and cranky. The only food that seems even the slightest bit appetizing is peanut butter!!
Optional GTKY: Where do you live? from NYC now live in NJ
What's next: Appointments/milestones/etc. Next doctor appointment is not this Friday, but next. I'll practically be running into that office, and begging her to use that doppler, as we told moms, siblings and lots of close friends over the weekend!!!
Rants/Raves/Symptoms: I am seriously overwhelmed by how much I feel like I have to do and learn!! I know there's no book on parenting, but I think I need to find something that gets us ready for the basics!!
Optional GTKY: Where do you live? Northern California!
What's next: Appointment and scan today. I'm super, super nervous. The last few scans have been great but after what I hope and believe was hemorrhoid bleeding a week ago, I can't shake that fear I felt for those few minutes.
Rants/Raves/Symptoms: Killer headaches that have made me throw up a couple of times. I was told those could start at 12 weeks and they definitely did. I try to take Tylenol very occasionally so I have only taken it twice.
Optional GTKY: The beautiful state of Utah! Cold right now but I love living next to the mountains.
What's next: Patiently waiting for my 16w scan on 1/27
Rants/Raves/Symptoms: My MIL has just been driving me insane with her suggestions, she means well but is starting to get overbearing. I'm finally starting to feel some of that mysterious second trimester relief, my MS has died down a lot - I still have to throw up first thing in the morning but it's not lingering all day like it was before.
Optional GTKY: Where do you live? Key West, FL! I'm gonna have a hot, humid pregnancy!
What's next: Appointsments/milestones/etc. Next appt on 01/27. Two milestones: (1) I can't fit into my clothes and need to wear maternity pants. No bump yet, just thickening quickly! (2) I just told my boss, and he was supportive!
Rants/Raves/Symptoms: As I mentioned yesterday coming off diclegis is going to be tough because of migraines, will call my OB and maybe neurologist to see if they have ideas. Also I got a pretty bad nosebleed last week at work, which could be pregnancy related. Got a humidifier for home, it might help...
Optional GTKY: Where do you live? Boston area, not looking forward to the impending winter!!
What's next: Appointsments/milestones/etc. we just had an appointment on Friday and he was able to find the heartbeat super fast and the baby kept trying to move away from it. It made me happy that it's still there! We also got to set up the a/s for the beginning of February and I can't wait to see the baby again and to make sure everything is functioning!
Rants/Raves/Symptoms: this constipation is killin me. Last night I felt like my butt went through the equivalent of birth. It was awful and the hemorrhoids are there today so I am dreading pooping at all.
Optional GTKY: Where do you live? Utah!! I love the mountains here and hate the cold!
@msuzannah Hey! I'm in Utah too!! What part are you in?! And I agree, mountains are amazing but I'm SO tired of the cold!! And congrats on a great appointment! I'm heading in today.
@tennisbabymama we are up in the salt lake area! I'm so happy there's someone else in the same state as me!! The local board for slc babies is dead so I felt alone! Good luck on your appointment today! Let me know how it goes! I'll be sending positive thoughts your way
What's next: Had an appointment today which went great. I really love my doctor! I freaked out before hand but as soon as I was in her office she is so good at reading me and what I need. She quickly reviewed the test results (all normal!) and suggested we do the Doppler for the heartbeat before talking about anything else. She found it right away and I was actually able to hear it (every other time the baby heartbeat was super imposed on mine so I couldn't tell the difference). Next u/s is the anatomy scan in 3-5 weeks!
Rants/Raves/Symptoms: Headaches are pretty much a daily reality but I have a migraine disorder along with the epilepsy so it's really not anything new. Celebrated the good doctor's appointment with some comfy maternity clothes, I haven't put on much weight and don't have a bump really but nothing fits and my waist has kind of disappeared. I'm know home and gloriously comfortable!
GTKY: Toronto. Super glad I invested in non slip winter boots last year- so much less stress not worrying about slipping on the ice
@tennisbabymama we are up in the salt lake area! I'm so happy there's someone else in the same state as me!! The local board for slc babies is dead so I felt alone! Good luck on your appointment today! Let me know how it goes! I'll be sending positive thoughts your way
Way cool! We live in the SLC area too! Cottonwood heights. Super fun to have someone here. I had someone in my last BMB who was from around here and it was so helpful. And thank you!!!
What's next: Appointsments/milestones/etc.my next appointment was supposed to be Wednesday but it was moved to Friday. This means my hubby can't go, but I'm still a little excited. It's ultrasound day!
Rants/Raves/Symptoms: I'm sick almost every day, which is new to me. I'm not digging it so much, so this will be discussed with my doctor Friday.
Optional GTKY: Where do you live? Columbia SC. I see everyone complaining about cold and snow.... I would kill for snow. We never get any!
What's next: Appointsments/milestones/etc: Regular appointment in 2 weeks. so far away...
Rants/Raves/Symptoms: Things are pretty mild around here. I'm staying up until 9:30ish which was my previous bed time so the exhaustion seems to be less. Still a little nauseous/gaggy in the morning, but that's controlled by the diclegis. I feel really bloated, but since I'm overweight it's not a bump. I'm annoyed because I looked pregnant before and now I look worse with the bloating. Will be excited for the day that I'm just pregnant, not big!
Like so many of you I have issues with migraines. they've actually gone away since the BFP (hey thanks crazy hormones), but I'm really dreading the decrease in diclegis. I think I may stay on it until my 14 week appointment and discuss how to taper with my OB.
Optional GTKY: Where do you live? Vermont. I'm originally from NH, but moved to VT on a whim with some friends a few years ago. They've all moved away, but I met my DH and stayed.
What's next: patiently sitting on modified bedrest. 16wk appointment next week to discuss progesterone shots and possible cerclage.
Rants/raves: my heartburn and constipation suck. Always had issues, but it's waaay worse this go round. MS has decreased. I only take one zofran in the morning and sometimes a phenergan in the evening.
GTKY: live north of Houston. Already dreading being a whale during summer. I love walking outside and having all my clothes stick to me.
Weeks+Days: 12 weeks today! What's next: Appointsments/milestones/etc. NT scan on Wednesday! Super excited to see the baby! Last US was at 6 weeks so it was a nice tadpole
Rants/Raves/Symptoms: RLP is kicking my butt!!! I know uterus needs to grow but I feel I'm being ripped in 2! Still dry heaving frequently, but feeling better overall
Optional GTKY: Where do you live? Canadian expat living in upstate NY. Traded the frigid cold, for more cold!
What's next: Appointsments/milestones/etc. My next appt is in 2 weeks, and it can't get here soon enough.
Rants/Raves/Symptoms: I know many of you won't appreciate this, and it's not that I wish for debilitating nausea (obviously) but... My rant is that my symptoms have disappeared and I'm constantly scared of a mmc. I was also putting on weight steadily (I know, not necessary in 1st tri, but it helped me feel better about things), but since starting to eat healthier after the holidays I've lost 1-2 lbs which is freaking me out! I know that none of this is abnormal at this stage, but...pgal brain strikes again. (Also never did I think losing a few pounds would make me sad, hahaha) It just sucks because we've been telling family/close friends, and I feel like I can't be 100% excited because I'm worried I'll have to take it back. Sorry to be such a downer!!!
Optional GTKY: Where do you live? Chicago - brrrrrrr
What's Next: OB appt 1/21 and have an early scan for the sex on 2/6...so excited to find out because that is when we will tell our 3 year old!! We may also tell work or Facebook...really have not planned all that.
R/R/S: I feel more sleepy during the day, but am a teacher so it can be a lot of standing. I listened to the heartbeat with the doppler last night and can find it super quick!
GTKY: Southeast Missouri the land where it floods, snows, and people where flip flops all in the same week!
Just went to the bathroom and had light pink spotting. To say I'm panicked is an understatement even though I know it's not unusual. I hate myself because I kept thinking today that reaching the 12 weeks Mark makes it easier to breathe and now I'm just sure I jinxed myself
What's next: Appointsments/milestones/etc. Just had an appointment today and she found the HB on the Doppler, which was great. I don't really get too nervous now until right before an appointment, then I start freaking out. But I felt much better to hear a HB and really be in the 2nd tri. OB said my uterus felt big, so I guess that's good? Lol, I had no idea how to take that. Anatomy scan scheduled for 2/8.
Rants/Raves/Symptoms: Still struggling with MS and poor appetite. This kid is going to be born with cavities because all I can eat is fruit and cereal. I had a smoothie for dinner and I want another one. I haven't been able to eat meat in weeks. But hey, I'm pregnant and fruit is delicious.
Optional GTKY: Where do you live? Indiana! For some reason everyone I know hates living in Indiana, but I love it.
Married 6/1/13
BFP #1 7/2013 MMC 9/17/13
BFP #2 5/2014 MC 6/15/14
BFP #3 11/13/14 (Found in ER with ruptured cyst) Diagnosed MC 11/15/14
BFP #4 4/2015 MC 7/1/15
BFP #5 10/21/15 EDD 7/3/16 Praying for our rainbow!
@nugget71116 my symptoms are so much less and I had the same thoughts as you today. No advice, but I get it!
@jolydan any of the normal causes for spotting? Sex, BM, etc?
@winnie1122 the only things that sound appealing to me is bagels with PB, McDonald's and white rice. I'm going to be the size of a house if I don't pull it together. At least fruit is healthy!
@jolydan try not to work yourself up too much, though easier said than done. Put your feet up, rest, and hopefully it was only the one time and it's done.
@samantha1206 I'm in SC, too, but in the north, close to Charlotte. We've been here almost 6 years, originally from Michigan. I do not miss the cold and snow at all!
Weeks+days - 14+6
What's next - 1/21 routine check up 2/1 big anatomy scan!
RRS - I have energy again, but now can't sleep through the night. I've been waking up around midnight and it takes over an hour to get back to sleep and then I'm up by 4. I miss sleep!!
What's next: Appointsments/milestones/etc. Just had my 12 week appt today, heard a great heartbeat! Kinda bummed for no US but I have my NT coming up next week.
Rants/Raves/Symptoms: Rave - Told the family today! Everyone freaked out. Exciting but makes me nervous that it's now out there. Rant - I have been SO hungry. I put on 6 pounds in the last two weeks! I'm not sure how I'm gonna keep it to 1/wk now.
Optional GTKY: Where do you live? SoCal, but moving to CO about 3 weeks before I'm due :-/
What's next/appointments: Anatomy scan and midwife appointment the first week of Feb. nothing until then.
R/R/S: Sooooooo tired all the time. Last week and the week before I had wicked insomnia and now all I can do is sleep. On the positive side I had my first prenatal yoga class on Saturday and it was amazing. I felt so good afterwards, I wish I could go everyday.
GTKY: I live in Calgary. Canada, eh?
@jolydan Try to get some rest! FX it's a one time thing and passes quickly. Keep us posted. @BostonBaby1 Looking forward to your update!
What's next: Appointsments/milestones/etc. Midwife check in on Wednesday. I thought I'd be less nervous leading up to this one since I've had four ultrasounds but I'm still stressing a bit.
Rants/Raves/Symptoms: Maternity pants are my new best friend. RLP, headches, backaches, sciatic pain, and insomnia are the recent struggles. I've been trying to focus on positive things lately to try and stop myself from getting too down and some of the threads here have been affecting me so I've been limiting my browsing when I'm in a negative or stressed out space. Yoga and mediation help a lot though so I'm trying to make those habitual.
What's next: Next appointment is February 8th for our anatomy scan!
Rants/Raves/Symptoms: My first pregnancy ended at 16 weeks and I'm a bit freaked out to face that milestone next week. Told my boss yesterday and he immediately started talking about how I could cut my hours for safety (I'm a security officer.) umm, how about no. If I could afford to work part time, I already would be. RLP and sciatica are making my life hell, but I shouldn't complain because I have not vomited once this pregnancy.
GTKY- Where do you live: Nebraska! I'm southern but just moved here six-ish months ago
So the spotting was a one deal episode. I did call the on-call line because it became this weird yellow CM. Doctor didn't seem concern at all, which made me feel a little better. He told me I can come in today or just come Wednesday for my NT scan app. My anxiety is really bad, went to the bathroom at least 4 times during the night to check. But im also talking to Myself and I know I can't run to the OB office everytime I have a tiny worry. I see how the morning goes and I'll go in the afternoon if anything worrisome happens. Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers.
What's next: I don't have another appointment until 1/29. It seems so far away! I didn't schedule an NT scan but I think I want to do that now. I know you have to wait until 12 weeks. I think I'm going to call my doctor's office today about that. I thought I would be okay only going in every 3 weeks but my nerves are just all over the place!
I'm really nervous about telling my sister. We are going to a conference the first week of February together so I need to tell her. She will obviously notice I'm not drinking (and didn't drink at Thanksgiving or Christmas or New Years). She is getting married out of town in the middle of June. I don't want to take away from her big happy day. But, also I'm (hopefully) going to be
Rants/Raves/Symptoms: My morning sickness has been horrible lately! I was either throwing up or nauseous from the time I woke up until lunch time at 1 p.m. Not very conducive to working full time. I finally figured out the reason! I wasn't getting enough food! So I still eat dinner at 6 pm but I've added a snack (2nd dinner if you will) at 8:30 pm just before bed. Since I started doing that I haven't felt as sick. And, I've only thrown up once today!
Optional GTKY: Where do you live? St. Louis! I love it here but would also love to live somewhere else. My boyfriend is so in love with this city though. We will be St. Louis City residents forever! (Private schools here we come!)
Additional Comments:
@nugget71116 I know how you feel! PGAL brain is the worst! I'm finally feeling a little better and while I hated the nausea and vomiting, I'm not liking it being gone either!
@aimz2377 me too! I'm back to being energetic but I'm CONSTANTLY waking up at night for long periods of time! I woke up last night at 12:30, 2:30, and 3:40. Each time I was up for almost an hour! Let's consider it training for those late night feedings!
@stellaluna I've been staying away too. Some of the posts have been stressing me out. Plus, I don't like when people are mean or rude to other posters (which I've seen a lot lately). I don't get those same feelings on the PGAL board though. It's nice knowing everyone on that board is going through the same things that I have and am currently going through!
Mommy to an angel baby and a sweet little girl Earth side.
Got the results from the NT scan today and I am low risk. Very happy with the results! Next up is an appointment on the 22nd when I will also do a glucose test. My sister had gestational diabetes so they will keep a close eye on me.
What's up next: Had a scan today. Lost a few days but we are still measuring a week ahead at 15 weeks. Regular OB appointment on Friday. I'm in the 2nd trimester! Anatomy scan scheduled for February 8.
R/R/S: Stopping progesterone tonight so I'm very excited for no more pads/liners. RLP which the doctor says is good.
GTKY: Boston (obviously.) I've also lived in Miami, NYC and a couple of countries in Europe.
I hope it's ok if I join this thread. I'm expecting after 4 losses in a row. This has been overwhelming and exciting in one.
12w2d
What's next: I don't have my next appointment until Feb 5 which feels like forever away. But we will hopefully be meeting with the midwife we would like to switch to next week.
Rants/Raves/Symptoms: nausea is lightening up. But I still feel like I'm holding my breath. I pray the scared/anxious feeling or constantly praying this little one keeps thriving will ease up and that I'll just trust this.
I had my NT Scan this morning and everything looked perfect. To say I felt 50 pounds of pressure off my shoulders is an understatement! it was pretty magical to see the little baby sucking on his thumb! Thanks all for the support the past 2 days
So kind of random but is it crazy of me to want to buy more maternity clothes so I can throw out some of the ones from last time that bring back bad memories? Or is that just silly?
@MamaBish I would do whatever necessary for you to feel good and enjoy this pregnancy. If that's starting fresh I say go for it!
I just finished crocheting a baby blanket I started with my first pregnancy, cried a bunch and now feel really good, dare I say even relaxed and excited. I think having something physical to hold and remember and be excited for what's coming the future is good for me.
Had my appt this morning, my midwife found the heartbeat right away and she wasn't worried about the spotting I had last week. Whew! I always feel great after every appt and then the week or so before the next one I start getting nervous again. Anatomy scan on Feb 17th! Just have to keep busy until then...
Glad to see lots of good appts this week!
@MamaBish I say get new ones if the old ones still bring up negative or stressful emotions. Start fresh!

Rants/Raves/Symptoms: so many appts and no time to take off from work. Have to make up an entire 8 hours
Optional GTKY: Where do you live?

I've been trying to focus on positive things lately to try and stop myself from getting too down and some of the threads here have been affecting me so I've been limiting my browsing when I'm in a negative or stressed out space. Yoga and mediation help a lot though so I'm trying to make those habitual.
Optional GTKY: Where do you live?
Oregon!
15+1
What's next:
Next appointment is February 8th for our anatomy scan!
Rants/Raves/Symptoms:
My first pregnancy ended at 16 weeks and I'm a bit freaked out to face that milestone next week.
GTKY- Where do you live:
Nebraska! I'm southern but just moved here six-ish months ago
Myself and I know I can't run to the OB office everytime I have a tiny worry. I see how the morning goes and I'll go in the afternoon if anything worrisome happens. Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers.
Weeks+Days: 11 weeks + 4 days
Got the results from the NT scan today and I am low risk. Very happy with the results! Next up is an appointment on the 22nd when I will also do a glucose test. My sister had gestational diabetes so they will keep a close eye on me.
I live in Montana, the best place in the world!
*typo
@BostonBaby1 I've been waiting all day to see your update! Sounds like everything is going well which is such great news!
What's next: appointment on Friday. Hoping to relax a little more after this one
Rants/Raves/Symptoms: feeling better overall, but super strong gag reflex
Optional GTKY: Colorado
GTKY: California but grew up in Utah
I just finished crocheting a baby blanket I started with my first pregnancy, cried a bunch and now feel really good, dare I say even relaxed and excited. I think having something physical to hold and remember and be excited for what's coming the future is good for me.
Glad to see lots of good appts this week!
@MamaBish I say get new ones if the old ones still bring up negative or stressful emotions. Start fresh!
