@wenikilina so far the meds are going fine. It's been 3 days of pills (letrozole) and I did my fist menopur injection last night. I prefer gonal f injections as they are easier and less painful but it's really not so bad. I go in to the dr tomorrow for my first check.
welcome @CCBrownEyedGirl I am sorry you find yourself here but it's not hopeless. Age is the biggest factor of egg quality. I am 33 and got pregnant naturally with no issues at 29. My FSH is also high. My dr said if i were older he wouldn't even do treatments on me because the chances are so slim but with my age he definitely believes I have good eggs in there and its worth a shot. We are in our first IVF cycle right now and doing a mini stim version to start. Its' really nice having this group to come to for support and advice and to know you aren't alone.
I'm so bummed right now! I've been crying since I got my fertilization report this morning. Why is this so hard and stressful?? I'm doing my best to stay positive and to help everyone keep their spirits up, but it's so hard not to break down sometimes.
I had my ER yesterday and I had 16 eggs, 6 were mature and 5 fertilized with icsi. My numbers are low, but I keep praying all 5 make it to blast.
Hi y'all, I really appreciate hole this thread has taken off.
My AMH is low, DOR, and I've had 7 IUIs that didn't work. I just today had my IVF cycle cancelled for poor response (progesterone increased, estrogen leveled off, only 3-4 good follicles). We're converting to IUI, which happens tomorrow.
I'm disappointed and feeling down, but I'm going to be hopeful about the IUI (3-4 good follicles is better than any other IUI I've had). And we'll make plans for trying IVF again, with a different protocol.
@TWWAB, I'll be thinking of you. I know it's hard to watch the numbers go down, but 5 mature, fertilized eggs is something to be hopeful about.

@TWWAB that stinks that your number of eggs went down but 5 fertilized eggs sounds great. I am doing mini ivf so we don't expect that many eggs at all but even if we did a full IVF the dr would only expect to retrieve 4-6 eggs max and then who knows how many would fertilize and grow.
@KLake42 sorry your IVF was cancelled but at least you still have a shot this month. What protocol did you do this month?
@rachlee2010, I started with BCP for 3 weeks starting with my last cycle, then 300 gonal-f and 150 menopur, adding Cetrotide on day 6. 11 days of stims total, and triggered this evening, IUI in morning tomorrow.
My progesterone was up on day 11 (morning blood work) and estradiol leveled off, and estradiol dropped today. I have 3-4 mature follicles.
We'll probably try a Lupton microflare next time.

I had my first monitoring appointment today.. We saw two small follicles on the right and 4 on the left..two 2 bigger ones and 2 smaller ones. The dr said he expects to get 2 maybe 3 eggs but for me and a m ini stim IVF I am very happy with this..the first appointment makes me the most nervous because I am scared they will say I'm not responding so just seeing growth made me happy. I go back on Thursday
Wow our group is just growing... Which I'm sorry you ladies are here. I'm hoping you all try to stay positive and get there soon. We start meds next week the 20th and first retrieval is planned for Feb 1st. Hoping they put the max doses and I get at least 10 eggs. Sucks when the right barely works and the left only makes 4/5. Hey Ladies, I had my 2nd follicle check this morning. I have 2 really nice looking ones on the left and a bunch of smaller ones and 2 smaller ones on the right. Took my first shot of cetrotide with my menpur tonight and go back again on Sat for the next check. Really hoping some of the small ones catch up but even getting 2 eggs will make me happy. Hoping whatever we get fertilizes and grows
Thanks @TWWAB No major side effects. I have had a few bad headaches this week but not sure if it's the meds or just me (I am prone to headaches and get them fairly frequently. I took cetrotide for the first time last night and again this morning and at the injection site it gets red and raised like a big hive or bug bite. Last night I took the shot at 8 and by 9:30 the redness was subsiding and by the time I woke up you couldn't tell anything was there..Just took my next one and it's starting to get raised and red again.
Hello all, I have DOR at 28 DH no issues, and after a year of TTC we have moved on to our first and Medicated IUI in January. Had my baseline and took 100mg of Clmoid for 5 days. Went in for Follicle scan on CD 11 (1/14) and i had 1 dominant on the left (12mm) and 1 closely behind on right (11.5) and 4 other really small ones(around 8mm). I was asked to come back on CD 13 (1/16) to have another follicle scan to see if the two possible ones are growing as they should then will take the HCG shot if all looks good and IUI Tues (CD16)or Weds (CD17). To me, it seems as though even the dominant follicle is small since they average to grow about 2mm a day...i was assured that with DOR my follicle count looks as expected and I am "on track". Since this is so new to me I guess I just feel that I may not even get to the minimum 18-22mm to trigger and have the IUI...anyone experience no growth after their follow up follicle scan?

Thanks for checking in @wenikilina Ive been at the dr daily since saturday and things are pretty good considering my numbers and a mini stim approach. The dr thinks we will get 3 eggs, a 4th would be a bonus. I will be back in the morning and will be triggering either tomorrow or Wed for a ER on either Thursday or Friday We will be freezing everything we get unless it looks like it won't survive being frozen and thawed and then we would do a fresh so will be starting progesterone after ER just in case
@wenikilina, I'm smack in the middle of the TWW, 6dpo/dpiui, way too soon to test, but right at the point where I'm evaluating every little twinge to decide if it's implantation cramps. Which is crazy, I've done this enough to know that I should avoid those head games.

@wenikilina, @KLake42 hi and thanks for checking in. Update: Went in for follicle scan 1/16 (CD 13) my left dominant became 14mm and the right is now the dominant one at 15.5mm and a third at 12mm and three other smaller that won't mature. I will be doing the HCG trigger shot tomorrow (CD 16) with an IUI on Thrs 1/21 (CD 18). This is my first medicated cycle and very first IUI. I hope IUI is not too late in my cycle I had used LH surge tests in past always thought to O on CD 14 but from follicle scan they were not there yet at CD13.
@wenikilina I'm doing pretty good just waiting for Sunday (beta #1). All 5 of my embryos made it to day 5 which I am so thankful for. @KLake42 it's hard for me not to analyze every little thing going on with my body. I've been chalking it up to the side effects of the crinone gel.

It went great! I graduated today and I'm so happy that both babies were still there after that scare I had last week. We told my husband's parents and my big brother today. Calling my dad in Jamaica tomorrow.

I had my er this morning. We were hoping for 4-6 eggs based on my latest ultrasound but they only got 3. I know it only takes one so hoping it's enough. Kind of bummed though.

When you did your retrieval cycle were you on a regular full dose ivf?? I think you said you got 6 eggs We got 3 today but I'm doing mini ivf so for mini I think 3 is good but still slightly bummed because as of Wednesday I had 5-6 follicles so we were hoping for 4-6

I am anxious to see what happens with our 3 eggs but then if we have nothing to transfer I wonder if we should do another mini or a regular. Even if we have something to transfer I am torn if we should do one more cycle/retrieval to get a few more or transfer what we have and then deal with another cycle if ti fails. I haven't spoken to the dr about that so we will see what he says..first thing first though is to see what happens with the 3 eggs. I did speak to the nurse about 2-3 hours after the retrieval and she said the good news is all 3 they got are mature..with the snow storm tomorrow we won't hear a report until sunday on how they are doing..Did you do ICSI?
I was on 300 IUI Gonal F, 150 IUI Menopur, 20ml of Lupron during the suppression stage. We did do ICSI because that was standard procedure at my clinic. My RE told me upfront I had no other options but a full cycle of IVF because my AMH level was so low.

It's interesting how different dr's think. My AMH was very low 0.1 and I actually brought up the idea of mini ivf to my dr. At first he said, no I don't like mini and started explaining how the full dose cycle would look like. As we talked more and more he started saying I actually think mini might be a good move for you..at least to start and see what we get. (Partly I think he was being mindful that we pay for meds OOP so it would be much cheaper and if we could save a couple thousand dollars and really if the difference between the two would only be anywhere from 2-4 eggs it was worth a shot. We also are doing ICSI..i'm not sure if it's standard procedure as they told us they usually do it for Male infertility which we don't have but that the fertilization rates are higher and he wanted to give us any extra percentage points wherever we could get them..Also why he recommends freezing everything and doing a FET
So heard from the lab and 2 of our 3 eggs fertilized with ICSI...will hear again tomorrow to see if they are growing appropriately. They should be between 2 and 4 cells tomorrow..so hopeful and so scared/nervous all at once. Really hoping at least one is a good egg and our baby..two would be a bonus!!!

@LSatturo126 the RE had DW take a few days off before and after the ER. He had me take 2 days off after transfer. We both have very physical jobs though. He was also worried about Dw since they put her on such high dosages for her low AMH. We should have our retrieval Fri or Sat next week!

My er was on a Friday and then is snowed two feet Saturday so my work was closed Monday and Tuesday so I had a lot of time off but if that hadn't happened I probably would have gone back to work the next day

welcome @CCBrownEyedGirl I am sorry you find yourself here but it's not hopeless. Age is the biggest factor of egg quality. I am 33 and got pregnant naturally with no issues at 29. My FSH is also high. My dr said if i were older he wouldn't even do treatments on me because the chances are so slim but with my age he definitely believes I have good eggs in there and its worth a shot. We are in our first IVF cycle right now and doing a mini stim version to start. Its' really nice having this group to come to for support and advice and to know you aren't alone.
I had my ER yesterday and I had 16 eggs, 6 were mature and 5 fertilized with icsi. My numbers are low, but I keep praying all 5 make it to blast.
My AMH is low, DOR, and I've had 7 IUIs that didn't work. I just today had my IVF cycle cancelled for poor response (progesterone increased, estrogen leveled off, only 3-4 good follicles). We're converting to IUI, which happens tomorrow.
I'm disappointed and feeling down, but I'm going to be hopeful about the IUI (3-4 good follicles is better than any other IUI I've had). And we'll make plans for trying IVF again, with a different protocol.
@TWWAB, I'll be thinking of you. I know it's hard to watch the numbers go down, but 5 mature, fertilized eggs is something to be hopeful about.

My progesterone was up on day 11 (morning blood work) and estradiol leveled off, and estradiol dropped today. I have 3-4 mature follicles.
We'll probably try a Lupton microflare next time.

No major side effects. I have had a few bad headaches this week but not sure if it's the meds or just me (I am prone to headaches and get them fairly frequently. I took cetrotide for the first time last night and again this morning and at the injection site it gets red and raised like a big hive or bug bite. Last night I took the shot at 8 and by 9:30 the redness was subsiding and by the time I woke up you couldn't tell anything was there..Just took my next one and it's starting to get raised and red again.
@rachlee2010 Any new updates? I am happy you have follicles growing! That is so exciting.
@KLake42 How is it going? Your situation sounded very similar to mine. I really hope the IUI is successful for you!

Ive been at the dr daily since saturday and things are pretty good considering my numbers and a mini stim approach. The dr thinks we will get 3 eggs, a 4th would be a bonus. I will be back in the morning and will be triggering either tomorrow or Wed for a ER on either Thursday or Friday
We will be freezing everything we get unless it looks like it won't survive being frozen and thawed and then we would do a fresh so will be starting progesterone after ER just in case

I had my er this morning. We were hoping for 4-6 eggs based on my latest ultrasound but they only got 3. I know it only takes one so hoping it's enough. Kind of bummed though.
When you did your retrieval cycle were you on a regular full dose ivf?? I think you said you got 6 eggs
We got 3 today but I'm doing mini ivf so for mini I think 3 is good but still slightly bummed because as of Wednesday I had 5-6 follicles so we were hoping for 4-6

I did speak to the nurse about 2-3 hours after the retrieval and she said the good news is all 3 they got are mature..with the snow storm tomorrow we won't hear a report until sunday on how they are doing..Did you do ICSI?

We also are doing ICSI..i'm not sure if it's standard procedure as they told us they usually do it for Male infertility which we don't have but that the fertilization rates are higher and he wanted to give us any extra percentage points wherever we could get them..Also why he recommends freezing everything and doing a FET
We heard that both fertilized eggs divided. Ones 2 cells the other is 4. Really hoping they continue to grow.
