I said I wasn't going to even look or think of names till we found out what we are having. But I was talking to my SIL the other day and we came up with Finley for a girl. I LOVE that name. Other than that all I have is a middle name for a girl which will be Ruth Ann. Ruth is after my grandma who passed away. And Ann is my BFFs middle name who also passed away. So if it is a girl it will be Finley Ruth Ann as long as DH is on board that is.
Ok so even thought I said I didn't want to think about it until at least 12 weeks... I feel this is a "safe space" where I won't fear people stealing my names- cause it's happened to me before
We started talking about it a bit. It's a big deal in our families to name after someone in the family For boys I like : Shane, Levi, Seth ( After my grandfather Sam (i love sam but we have Sam's on both sides of the fam now) and DH's grandfather Lou) For girls: I love Emmy or Shira (after grandma's Ethel and Shirley)

So since my last post, dh and I have talked more about boy names, and I need your honest thoughts! So we both have always loved the name Jackson (along with the rest of the US I guess seeing as its the top boy name) but dh's cousin named one of her son's Jackson, so we always just assumed it was out; not an option. 5+ years have past, she has moved to North Carolina and we haven't talked to or seen her since. So that's not my concern. My concern is we decided to name our dog Jax, but have started entertaining the idea of naming our (possible) boy Jackson again. Is that too close to the dog's name? Is it weird? Haha Probably, huh? Well the other thought is that we already call Jax "J" for short (and he responds to it), so maybe we just transition to that? I don't know! Part of me is thinking its a little strange, the other part of me says I can do whatever tf I want!
We have agreed to put my grandmothers mn, Grey, in somewhere if its a girl. My DD we could not agree so we went with my mother and his mother's mn. Which is perfect. A boy he will be the third. William joesph. We will call him Liam for a nn since my dh us Will/Billy and his dad Bill.
@mali0902I used some names up as pet names that I would have considered kids names.. now I name pets things that I would NEVER name a kid for that exact reason! haha. I don't think it's a huge deal, but if it's going to bother you if people poke fun of that, then reconsider.
@sams1girlI don't think that's too bad...plus a lot of kids won't even know his middle name, so they won't tease him...I was worried about kids teasing my girl if her initials were BO....
It's twins for us, so it's either going to be Logan William and Riley Aidan (two boys) or Logan William/Alexandra and Harper Elizabeth (boy/girl or two girls)!
I love Finley, too. It was on my "maybe" list (for a boy or a girl) for a long while and it's still on the back burner in case we ever find ourselves with a third.
We have had our names picked out from go! For a girl we love Billie Kathryn Baldwin, after my great grandmother and his grandmother. For a boy we love Beau Perry Baldwin, Beau because I just love it and B alliteration, and Perry is a family name on my husband's side.
For a boy, it was super easy for us...we decided on Tristan. For a girl, I'm between a couple. I like Willow and Stella right now, but that could change. Girl names are always harder for me. Also...what do you think of the new Saylor/Sailor name trend for girls?
When I was pregnant with our first our girl name was Lillian Elaine and will probably stay the same if we happen to be team pink this time! We also like the name Astoria after a neighborhood we lived in in NYC when we first met. But it cant really be shortened to anything, maybe Astor, and we both don't like Tori. . This would have been our first boy name but my DH is a Jr so our first is Robert Michael III, but we call him Bobby

I don't care for occupation names much to begin with, and find them particularly ugly on girls.
Also, I think of Bristol Palin whole mess of complaining that her "unique " name for her daughter isn’t as unique because some other celebrity named their daughter the same thing. I wouldn't want people to think of that hot mess when they heard my daughters name.
I have a list of names I like before we met (sad I know, but wasn't for naming a child per se), just names I liked. Then we reviewed them after we got married and we agree on quite a good number of them so we will be choosing from the agreed list! Top names: Idris for a boy and Atiqa for a girl
We've had names picked out for about 3 years. Shortly after we started dating we knew it was meant to be and started talking about all sorts of crazy things. Now we've dated for 3 years, been married for one and are finally expecting.
We have 4 names picked out. Two boys and two girls (incase of twins that run in both families)
We are hoping for a boy first and if it is his name will be Rodrigus Jayden and we will call him RJ. If it's a girl her name Lauren Cameron and we will call her LC
@Shiva14 This is OT, but I love your profile pic (and screen name). When DD was first born and I was doing nothing but nursing and watching TV, DH and I binge watched The League. Hilarious show.
Super late response but thanks! I love the league and each season is better than the last
We are nowhere near deciding on a name. We're going to remain team green, but will probably start more serious discussions about it around the time we would be able to find out.
Last time the boy name that we picked and went unused was Nico, so we'll start there and see if anything we like better comes along. We'll be starting from scratch with girl's names.
We decided early on that our girl name is Catalina Bea. We are not sure about our boy name. Our last name is Smith so we want something that is a little more exciting but the name has to be the same in English and Spanish since I am Mexican and the baby will know my side of the family. For a boy we like Finnegan (will call him Finn) but we can't agree on a middle name. We are looking for something that is one or maybe two syllables that goes well with Finnegan and doesn't end in S. Any suggestions would be welcome! I told DH that we should wait a little bit longer and we don't actually have to have names picked out as I am only 5 weeks along but he says that once we have a name picked out he will feel like he can actually get to know the baby.
If we have a boy, DH has already decided on Benjamin Jakob. If we have another girl, I'm liking Malory Jade but DH isn't that big of a fan. FX for a boy lol!
We both like Claire for a girl, but haven't found one yet for a boy that we both like. Last time, we had the opposite problem - found a boy name ASAP that we both loved, but could never figure out a name for a girl.
@Noelani42 I like it! I tend to like similar names - Haley, Hattie, etc. But our last name starts with an H and ends with the 'ee' sound so first names ending with the 'ee' sound (especially those starting with H!) just don't work for us.
We all happen to have double letter names in my family... Anna (me) Matt (hubby), Emmett (1 year old) so we might aim for another double letter name although we hadn't done this on purpose with our son. At least it would narrow down the millions of names to a few hundred to pick from... or we might just go with something that calls out to us like last time.
