Rants/Raves/Symptoms: Super excited to be at the halfway point today! Lots of people touching the bump lately...luckily it's people I love so it's not pissing me off or creeping me out. Super congested all the time, but not due to sickness. Just congested. And my nasal passages are super dry, sometimes to the point where I'll get a bloody nose after I blow it. Heartburn is constant. Energy is very up and down, one week I'm cleaning/organizing like crazy and the next all I want to do is sleep. Feeling good overall and starting to feel Lil Sprout's kicks a little bit stronger now.
Upcoming appointments: Monday for our anatomy scan! So excited!
Questions for the Group: Anyone else having a lot of congestion & dry nasal passages? Anything you're doing to help it out?
GTKY: Has nesting kicked in yet? What have you done to prepare for baby? Yes, it kicked in about two weeks ago and I've been a nesting fool. We just moved the crib and dresser/changing table into the house today from storage at my dad's house. We finally found a good layout for the nursery that uses the small space the best. It's kind of exciting! Husband was super into it, so I can tell he is really excited about baby (but totally trying to play it cool).
Week/Fruit: 20 weeks! banana @ valerie4786
Hi due date buddy!! We've been fighting colds in our home all fall/winter, so I'm not sure what is cold-related or pregnancy-related. Bloody noses can be from the dryness or the extra blood circulation/increased estrogen I believe. I haven't found anything helpful either - though hot tea helps me a decongest a bit.
Rants/Raves/Symptoms: One week ago, I started having mild contractions, but frequent enough to get my attention. Since then, I've been increasing my fluids and "resting" as much as I can as a SAHM to 21month old twins. Overall, feeling much better, pregnancy-symptom wise.
Upcoming appointments: Monday I have our fetal echo (for family history) and Anatomy Scan!! They will also check my cervical length as they are doing every two weeks. I will then have my MFM appt, where I will be sure to bring up the Braxton Hicks/uterine irritability that I had last week. Fingers crossed that my cervix didn't shorten either!!
Questions for the Group:
GTKY: Has nesting kicked in yet? What have you done to prepare for baby? Yes, I want to tidy things up around the house and de-clutter, but I'm really trying to rest at least until the contractions completely go away and/or another 4-6weeks. I did put Christmas decorations away today - can I get a ribbon for that? Currently, my game plan is to nest for 15min after the twins go down for nap every afternoon, and then I make myself a snack and park it for 90min. DH has been in major nesting mode since Christmas. He wanted to get rid of as much stuff as we brought into our home (Toddler Christmas present take-over!). We got a vacuum for Christmas, and he's been going to town with it lately! No complaints from me - except for when it wakes up the twins!
Mama to Three Girls: Twins born March 2014 at 26 weeks due to preterm labor and our 37weeker born May 9th, 2016!
Rants/Raves/Symptoms: Congestion all the time. Other than that though nothing else really. Everyone at work pretty much knows about the pregnancy now which makes my days at work so much easier. Also found out from work on Friday that they will not count DH's leave towards my 12 weeks of FMLA. We work at the same place so technically that's what they're supposed to do, but they're being nice I guess.
Upcoming appointments: 1/26. Not really looking forward to it. I'm going to get more info regarding my rhogam shot which I have to get at 28 weeks and I'm also going to get info on my glucose screening soon.
GTKY: Has nesting kicked in yet? What have you done to prepare for baby? We've pretty much finished our registry minus a few things and DH is moving the stuff out of my office/what will be nursery tomorrow. I've started going through paint samples and think I have the color for the room picked. Next weekend DH is fixing some stuff on the walls to get ready to paint and ordering new blinds for the room. As soon as taxes are done we're ordering the flooring and then that will be done too. In terms of cleaning/readying the rest of the house? I've been pretty lazy. Lol.
Rants/Raves/Symptoms: I've made it to viability. I thought I'd feel better about this pregnancy when I reached this point, but I still feel anxious.
Upcoming appointments: The 21st.
GTKY: Has nesting kicked in yet? What have you done to prepare for baby. All I've done is some online shopping ending with everything being put on a wish list/registry. I've done nothing beyond that.
Rants/Raves/Symptoms: really haven't been feeling little girl since Thursday. Of course I spent some time on dr Google checking it out. Apparently this is a growth spurt time, so baby sleeps a lot, and movement can decrease around this time. Glad to know its normal!
And a rant- my bp is still high so dr wants me to check it at home. Bp monitors are more than I want to spend, so I'll be making daily trips to the pharmacy to us their machine.
Upcoming appointments: not until 2/8 for glucose test. I need to detox before then as I love sugar!
Questions for the Group:
GTKY: Has nesting kicked in yet? What have you done to prepare for baby? Not sure I would call it nesting per say, but yes, I've been getting things ready for her. Our crib and changing table have been delivered. Going to clean the spare room top and bottom tomorrow so next weekend we can get started in there. I have a lot to do around here in terms of cleaning and organizing. Tbh our house is a disaster right now (hoping I win 900m tonight to hire a cleaner!)
Rants: Peeing. All the time. Raves: Over the halfway mark - happiness. Symptoms: Pain in my legs at night which paired with the constant peeing makes for a very grumpy sleeper.
Upcoming appointments: A/S on the 21st. Can't wait!
Questions for the Group: None.
GTKY: I wish nesting will kick in. It has yet to make an appearance. We have bought a crib, mattress and compactum. And I've made a list which we will continue ticking off as we buy more stuff. And the nursery is now a nursery, no longer our room where our clothes go to die.

What happened to your SN? Why are you a "knottie" all the sudden?
Upcoming appts: February 1 - 25 weeks bc my anatomy scan was so late.
Rants/raves/symptoms: popping the tums, gaining the lbs, and peeing all night long. Keeping it real pregnant around here. But can't complain, and love feeling the kicks - even though I agree @yogahh they have slowed down in the last few days. I also can tell there's a major growth spurt just by how I feel, a little more tired and hungry than I have been.
Gtky: nothing. Ugh. The positive: I don't have to buy one item of clothing or etc, thank god for summer baby girls. However, the negative is I need to move my daughter out of the nursery and I have no idea on how to do her big girl room. I also want to paint the nursery and get new bedding for a new vibe but I just have no plans. Pinterest isn't helping. I know the baby will be in our room for a few months but I need to get the ball rolling. IKEA is in my future.
Week/Fruit: 23 fruit?? No idea but I've been loving raspberries lately! I think I'm a cantaloupe or pretty close.
Rants/Raves/Symptoms: I feel fantastic. Which is weird.
Upcoming appointments: they suspect I have GD so I basically have been weekly. This week I have nothing down so far. Thank goodness!
Questions for the Group:
GTKY: Has nesting kicked in yet? What have you done to prepare for baby? We've bought the crib/dresser and stroller/car seat. And clothes. Not nesting yet. Between my job and traveling it's been slow to get anything done.
Upcoming appointments: I have one on the 22nd with the MFM Doctor to make sure things are ok with baby's kidneys.
Questions for the Group:
@valerie4786 if my congestion is bad enough to cause headaches, I take sudafed. It was on the OK lost my doctor gave me. Mucinex has also helped.
GTKY: Has nesting kicked in yet? What have you done to prepare for baby?
I don't feel like it has. I wish it would. We have started on the nursery, it's mostly cleared out of non-baby things and DH put together the dresser/changing table. The sciatica is really limiting what I can accomplish. I need to get to a chiropractor!
Rants/Raves/Symptoms: He's sitting low which is making me pretty uncomfortable. Insomnia is starting to set in too but other than that I'm doing good.
Upcoming appointments: Next one is the 26th
Questions for the Group:
GTKY: Has nesting kicked in yet? What have you done to prepare for baby? I am nesting! I didn't with my first so I'm kind of excited about it this time around. We just bought a house and are hopefully going to be moved by the first week in March so I'm only planning, cleaning, and just starting to pack right now.
@valerie4786 - I've had a ton of congestion throughout my pregnancy. If it gets really bad I've turned to the breathe right strips and making a cup of (caffeine free) tea. That seems to help more than anything so far. I also turned to sleeping somewhat propped up.
Rants/Raves/Symptoms: rant: clothes in general, trying not to spend too much on maternity stuff but it just fits and feels better.. Rave: pretty dull but just super happy with work we have done in house this weekend. Symptoms: usual, lack of sleeping through main moan at mo!!!
Questions for the Group: none, you guys pretty much answer stuff as we go along!
GTKY: Has nesting kicked in yet? What have you done to prepare for baby? Yup, just getting nursery ready crossing stuff off lists! Need projects to keep moving forward cos it seems so long to wait to meet my boy!
@That1didntcount I'm glad I'm not the only one noticing kicks have slowed down. Yesterday and today I've been really busy and on my feet a lot. Spending the rest of the day on the couch resting, in hopes that I feel her today! It's making me nervous, and I am trying not to be...
Rants/Raves/Symptoms: My biggest symptoms is pubic bone pain. It's constant and is very limiting, as things like standing up and walking are very painful. I've brought it up to my doctor before, but am going to ask him about it again at my next appointment. Besides that, just the general swelling, heartburn, congestion and dry nose.
Upcoming appointments: Next Monday for my glucose test. Kinda nervous!

I have been sleeping with a humidifier, drinking lots of water, and putting a little vaseline in my nose when it's particularly bad.

This happened to me around the exact same time. Sometimes to get them to move I would drink some orange juice or eat something with some sugar. By about a week or so later they were back to going nuts!
Rants/Raves/Symptoms: Has our A/S on Thursday and it was awesome to see her. @valerie4786 I feel like I am always congested. I had a lot if nose bleeds as a child so I am always worried when I blow there will be blood.
Upcoming appointments: Jan. 21 for OB check up
Questions for the Group: Anybody else feel like they live in sweatpants? I hate putting on real pants these days
GTKY: Has nesting kicked in yet? What have you done to prepare for baby? A little. We completely cleared out the nursery except for the day bed which we will be getting rid of this week. I went through my kitchen and rearranged everything.

I can't wear sweatpants to work- damn it! So leggings to work and sweatpants at home!
Rants/Raves/Symptoms: feeling good overall besides the congestion and random insomnia where I wake up at 2am and just lay there for hours until it's a decent hour to get up.
Upcoming appointments: February 1 for 24 week checkup and glucose test.
Questions for the Group: I've seen a few comments about daycare, but have you all decided your plans or timing for staying home/returning to work? We toured three daycare options in our area on Friday and I feel a little less anxiety now. Though I know I will want more time with baby!
Also - I am trying to narrow down some nursery ideas so I'll be posting pics on that thread and seeking opinions!
GTKY: Has nesting kicked in yet? What have you done to prepare for baby? Yes! Nursery is cleaned out and most big purchases have been made; just trying to decide on some decor details. This is the toughest part of being team green so far. I keep thinking things are neutral, but since my style is pretty feminine I want to make sure I don't make things too girly on accident. I also organized the guest room and closet and have big plans to attack the kitchen and my craft room this week.

Every day if I could! I'm lucky that I can dress up leggings at work, but sweatpants are frowned upon. If I'm wearing jeans at home its either because I'm not staying home long or people are coming over. Sweatpants FTW!

I haven't finalized my plans for after baby comes, but these are my plans so far...I'm thinking what I'll do is take the first 8 weeks off - depending on when baby comes, but definitely no less than 8 weeks. After the 8 weeks, my MIL will still be off work until school starts back up in September so I will arrange my hours at work so I'm getting them all in 2-3 days and she will babysit those days. Then come September I'll arrange my hours so I'm home on Mondays, the baby will be in daycare Tuesday-Thursday, then on Friday when I have Court half the day I'll drop the baby off at my dad & stepmom's since she is retired and I'll just pick up whenever I'm done for the day. That way we don't have to bump daycare up to four days a week. The daycare we're looking into will cost us around $133ish a week for 3 days, but we haven't toured yet or finalized. It's the best daycare in our area though and has great reviews from other parents.
@valerie4786 That sounds like a good plan! So far I am tentatively planning to take 12 weeks, then we will try and spread out vacation days and use my mom (who will have to come from out of state and stay with us) for awhile before going to 4-5 days/week daycare.
Rants/raves/symptoms: heartburn...ugh! This baby is so active! Not that I'm complaining, but she is breech and kicks so low then punches high and moves nonstop.
Upcoming appt: not until the 28th for a regular check up then have to do my glucose test a week or two after that
GTKY: nesting? Not yet. We've been purchasing furniture and things but have yet to start on a room.
@yogahh@valerie4786 I should clarify. I can't wear sweatpants at work either but when Im at home its always sweatpants. I didn't want to leave the house today because I had to put on jeans.

That way we don't have to bump daycare up to four days a week. The daycare we're looking into will cost us around $133ish a week for 3 days, but we haven't toured yet or finalized. It's the best daycare in our area though and has great reviews from other parents.
