I'm from Queens.. Been living here for about 12 years, but originally from the burbs. Although I love living here with tons of friends, great food, culture and Manhattan a few subway stops away - I don't really consider myself to be a city person and love to be away to upstate by whenever I can! ( or Vermont) I think our little neighborhood will be good for having a first kid because there are many family/ baby oriented places I can walk to and meet other moms.

@KarenBeth714 we might eventually move out towards Sunnyside/Woodsode queens because it's so family orientated. If I can ever get my husband to leave Manhattan. I think our tiny apt will become EVEN smaller once the baby comes...
TTC for Baby #1 for 3 years. After 2 failed IUI's & IVFs, God blessed us with our miracle . FET 12/17/15 (transferred 2 embryos at 5days). First Beta 12/29/15 = 354. Second Beta 12/31/15 = 694. Third Beta 1/7/16 = 6,695. Finally heard his heartbeat (126) on 1/14/16 @ our 1st US. 2nd US on 1/21/16, HR was 159. The most beautiful sound ever
Bronx girl from NY, but moved up to Orange County a few years ago....gotta admit, I don't miss the city much (except I still spend most of my time there because of work).
ME: 28 Wife: 28
Together since June 2005 - Married May 2015 - TTC since July 2015
Currently in Wisconsin, but born and lived most of my life in Seattle. You can take the girl out of the PNW but you can't take the PNW out of the girl!!!
The Woodlands, TX here (Houston). Marine brat growing up been named all over, but born in VA just outside of D.C. Housto. Is where I have been the longest so I call it home.
Texas girl here! Originally from Houston, but I currently live in a town in East Texas called Lufkin. Don't hate it, it is beautiful with the piney woods and lots of wildlife, but we are planning on getting a house in Austin in the next two months, which will become our primary residence! Austin is great- beautiful Hill country with young people and lots of my family and friends nearby! I went to college there, so I will be back in my old stomping grounds!!!
Really?? No other MN moms? I'm in St. Paul. Jealous of all the warmer places right now. We just got our first house this fall and can't wait to raise our kids in it.
Originally from Northern BC, Canada, but now live in southwestern Ontario, Canada.
ETA: Well, being Canadian generally has a ton of perks: maternity leave, health care, etc. I'd say my favourite thing about my current city is the manageable size and affordable cost of living.
Massachusetts here... about half an hour north of Boston, on the NH line! I *love* having all four seasons with such distinct weather (usually... this year is fluke-y) & being close to so many different things... I can get to either the ocean, mountains, or the city in less than an hour!
North Central WI here. My hubby is in the Navy and we were transferred here from near Seattle. @easyBreezie I feel you It's -4 out right now...still trying to figure out what I love about it. Wait, wait...there's never traffic and you can own a cute home for under 100k. Love that
I am from Tuscaloosa Alabama!!! I love that this city is small and close and of course our football team is great and they are in the national championship!!! Roll Tide!!#

I'm former Navy. I didn't even realize there was a base up in WI. That's crazy! Stay warm!
I live in Manitoba Canada on a farm. I love how open and quiet it is. My closest neighbour is a mile away so I have a lot of privacy. I also love everything but winter.
Re: GTKY: Where are you from?
I grew up in the 618. Small world.
