Congrats, @tiffanyhr ! We told our parents this week because I would tell them if something went wrong, too, but we waited until the second tri to tell friends. We will probably do the same this time around. Good luck with your decision and I hope you get a happy and healthy 9 mo this time!
Thanks! DH doesn't want to tell ANYONE, but I at least want to tell my mom -not just because she's my mom but also because she's a nurse. Hoping to get him on board w that. Thanks for sharing your experiences!

Hi everyone! I know some of you from the TTC after 35 board and I'm so happy to see you guys here.
10 weeks, 3 days (August 2 due date)
I feel pretty awful, honestly; it comes and goes, but I'm exhausted (like being hit by a Mack truck exhausted) all the time and it's really hard to do normal life stuff when all I want is a nap. I'm vaguely nauseous most of the afternoon and evening, rarely enough to puke, which kind of sucks because strangely I think it might make me feel better. I'm also bloated, gassy, and digestion-troubled. Wow, that's a lot of complaining... I'm thrilled to be pregnant and just praying for a healthy, sticky baby - and maybe a little reprieve from the crappy feeling in the 2nd trimester.
Just got my blood draw today for the Harmony test (similar to MaterniT21 and others) and should have results back within 2 weeks, or sooner. Nerve wracking.
I think I did enough ranting, but one more for the road - my husband is normally great, but he's made dangerous comments over the last 48 hours that make me fear for his safety around his hormonal wife... "Are you going to do anything today?! Shouldn't you get out of your pajamas?!" (On my day off, mind you.) and last night, after a looooong week at work, "Why are you in bed?! It's only 8 p.m."
Let me tell you, the string of profanities that came out of my mouth in both instances had him retreating to the farthest corner of the house. You have no idea, dude... No idea. Grrrr.
@Infantino22 --DH and I just had a "refresher course" on things not to say to a pregnant woman today. Haha. Joking is fine now, but I told him that soon, misplaced words may result in a "misplaced" punch. I was glad we could have a jokey (but serious) chat about it today because I really won't handle it well soon. And I think many DHs just can't comprehend how tired, crappy, and anxious pregnancy can make a person feel. Hope you and your DH can have a chat and that he can lay off a bit.
@tiffanyhr, I'm in the same boat w/ you.... m/c in Aug, freshly pregnant again in Jan. We didn't tell anyone (with our one pregnancy that made it past the first trimester), until about weeks 14-16. Even then, I wanted to wait until I was showing. Just do what feels right to you. I think with this one, we will wait about the same unless I have crazy pregnancy hormones/morning sickness that give me away earlier.

Yeah with my DS we told our parents separately a week before we told friends at around 14 wks. It was sort of fun to "fake drink" and come up with ways to hide it. I got way too good at that though I'm so nervous this time...got my hopes up so quickly last July only to have them crushed soon thereafter. Anyone have strategies on staying positive? Besides being part of this board of course

@Infantino22 oh I understand where you are with your DH... The thing that I told mine that I think made him finally get it was "imagine being hungover, ALL the time, without having had the benefit of a fun night of drinking the day before. That's what 1st trimester is like." He shut up after that.
I know everyone is different in terms of when/how they share the news. We've been on the conservative end. We didn't tell anyone until MaterniT21 results were back at about 11 weeks, and then it was only immediate family. I'm 18 weeks and have told my closest friends in the past few weeks. I was waiting until after the anatomy scan to tell my boss and coworkers, so that will probably happen next week. I don't think we'll do a social media announcement. I'm lucky in that I'm only just now starting to show a bit, but I'm sure people will begin noticing sooner or later.

@tiffanyhr I told my parents and my sister's family right away with my first two pregnancies, but I lost them both. With the third pregnancy, I waited a week to tell DH and I waited until after an u/s at 8.5 weeks to tell my family. I'm 11 weeks now and waiting for MaterniT21 results and u/s at 12w3d before announcing publicly. @Infantino22 I think we're married to the same guy.
