  • @bookelf221 have you checked out fabric.com? They tend to have a good selection and decent sales/promo codes-- plus no yard minimums.
  • Loading the player...
  • @TXmamatobe it's basically just queso!

@EErin86 are those happy tears or sad tears?

I thought I was going to be able to go a day without caving to the nacho cheese craving, but I gurss today is not that day. Chips & queso for dinner tonight I've decided. After I buy myself new maternity pants..

One of my friends suggested them! I'm definitely going to use them when I'm ready to order unless I have a 50% off coupon for our local fabric store :-)
  • @LadySamLady not sure if you've considered a part time nanny? For 3 days a week it's considerably more affordable than daycare and they can take baby to music class etc. and you can dictate the schedule as needed in some cases. It might be a good fit, if you're interested we can chat more (I love ours but have learned a lot about the hiring process), but check out Park Slope Parents' nanny survey. They do an excellent job - my neighborhood parents association cites their site as a reminder for hiring practices, compensation trends etc.

  • 11. DH went to the grocery store to get stuff for dinner. He of course got something we didn't need. We made a bet that I got anything he bought besides dinner stuff I got to have. Needless to say I could not stay mad bc he played that card well and bought some chocolate chip cookie dough to make cookies for dessert bc he thought the baby might want some. :)
  • 1. Found out we are having a GIRL!
    2. With two teenage girls in the house already who have been with me and DH NON-STOP for the past two weeks over winter break we were kind of hoping for a boy but we are happy to we saw a healthy very active little lady.
    3. Teenagers are ANNOYING. I am fortunate they are generally great kids, but. . .
    4. Walking the dog with the zero windchill yesterday SUCKED.
    5. Played dungeons and dragons last night with the fam and some friends and had a junk food feast and it was AWESOME.
    6. Had our monthly doc appointment yesterday. Still haven't gained any weight even though I've been eating really well. I'm actually down a couple of pounds. The ultrasound of our little gal looked great and she looked healthy, but now I have to meet with a nutritionist on the regs which sounds like the most BORING THING EVER. I'm not underweight or overweight (actually in great shape) so it seems unnecessary to me but the doc seems to think it will be helpful.
    7. Last day before the teenagers go back to school today so we spent the day roaming around junk stores in the East Village, chatting about life, drinking coffee, and finished the afternoon off with a giant ramen feast at one of my fav spots. Perfect for a cold ass day.
    8. I don't want to go back to work tomorrow!
    9. Didn't hit the gym today. Feel guilty.
    10. Bought a new cello (used but nicer than my old one) and I can't wait to play it with DH when he gets home from band practice tonight. ❤️
  • @Jenly17 How exciting for your SIL! :) It took my DH and I almost two years to get pregnant. I bet they are ecstatic! Have you seen Interstellar? DH and I watched that the other night, it was pretty good. I still want to see the Martian.

@jessiedee13 Is your husband a CPA? That's kinda rude your parents left before the reveal, it's not like they would have had to wait that long!

My IL's are so, so excited!! I haven't seen Interstellar but I'm going to add it to my list :)
  • @JennyS86 that's so exciting that you and your sister are pregnant at the same time!! So much fun!
  • @MrsKubley That actually sounds like a dream right now - although I am pretty sure I will regret it, won't I?

Have you ever been in WI during the winter? We have days where it's -20 before the wind chill and they give warnings about leaving the house at all. The air hurts (but you can blow bubbles and they freeze solid in the air).

On the flip side our summers are gorgeous.

    1.  Day two of making it to the gym in the morning!  Success!  It felt so nice to get home from work last night and not have the looming task of a workout ahead of me.

    2.  @charissadeats I live in North Dakota.  Temps really aren't so bad right now... about 15-30 degrees.  A friend of mine posted a memory on Facebook of the temp on Jan 4, 2014 and it was 52 BELOW.  That's an 80 degree swing, folks.  Welcome to North Dakota.

Ick, my husband dealt with -50's in Montana while snowmobiling once. You know it's bad when it's too cold to start a snowmobile!!
  • @EErin86 your WI cheese indignation is cracking me up. (I'm in Eau Claire)
  • @MrsKubley No I have not - evidently (maybe I'll be more careful what I wish for going forward lol). I know your winters are terrible though. Our summers are scorching (and for about 8 months out of a year) so we do get a bit bummed about it this time of the year - especially with no rain. Our winters are amazing again - doesn't ever snow and it's only about cold enough for one jersey and sometimes a jacket. So perfect!
  • Jenly17  Right!  my sister and her hubs tried for a while and I'm so happy for them!  congrats to your SIL!!

  • 1. I'm on the feeling way more movement these past couple days train. This baby was moving like crazy yesterday and today he or she gave me a nice strong kick to the bladder and then karate chopped me or something up towards the top of my ute today. Love it!
    2. Our Bradley classes start this Sunday evening, so excited.
    3. DH has been talking to my belly and putting his hands all over to feel movement for himself, unfortunately we aren't quite to the point of feeling the movements externally, but it's sweet to see him so excited.
    4. We didn't get to the new house until 3 days before Christmas so we got our tree up way later than usual. I've been struggling with the thought of taking it down.
    5. My mom made us hustle to get this new house together and get everything unpacked and situated while she was here. Since she left on the 1st, DH and I have been in relaxation mode and we are struggling to get back on the "get things done to get settled in" front.
    6. DH had us go to the store to get a waterproof mattress cover. He doesn't want my water breaking on our sleep number bed if that's where it winds up happening. It's far off, but he wants to be sure we don't forget. I felt like I was doing the walk of shame into the store to go get me a pee pad.
    7. Dropped off my medical records at the new OB's office last Monday. They said they'd have to have an NP review my records since I'd had half of my pregnancy overseen by another ob across the country. Never knew it'd take this long to review and get approved as a patient, it's been 4 weeks since I've been seen and I'm getting nervous.
    8. We got a little bit of snow today and I'm so happy. It's been forever since I've lived in a cold enough area for snow!
    9. We went to see Sisters today, it was pretty funny and it was nice to get out of the house with all of the recent ruckus.
    10. DH's birthday and our 1 year anniversary (1 year from when we went down to the courthouse and made it legal, not 1 year from our wedding) are on Thursday. It's gone by super fast and we've had so many exciting things happen in the past year; crazy!
  • 1.  There is some guy named Pete Santilli broadcasting live from that thing in Oregon.  I just think his voice sounds like Tony Stark character in Iron Man.

    2.  I'm ready for this cold to be over (cold as in cold virus, not the weather).  Feeling better but still have symptoms that are driving me crazy.

    3.  My mom is driving me crazy with stuff that doesn't matter.  i.e. The nursery is going to be in our spare bedroom that we had been using as a storage room.  It's never been used for anything but that and she tells me we need to paint it.  It does NOT need painting b/c dust probably got on the walls.  I can dust the stupid walls.

    4.  Found out at a/s that I have anterior placenta.  So with that on top of already  have fat in the midsection it's going to be heard to feel baby girl's kicks.  Although when I lay on my stomach on our memory foam mattress (only works on that b/c that is the only thing i can lay on like that without it being too uncomfortable)  I can feel fluttery like sensations, but I"m not sure if that is her or just gas.

    5.  I still don't have much of a bump.  Will be 20weeks tomorrow (Wednesday).  I can still wear my regular clothes.

    6.  I started off this pregnancy weighing 233 and as of today I am down to 219. Doctor hasn't seem worried at all about it.  I'm NOT trying to lose weight.  It just happening on its own.

    7.  Past couple days I've had a nerve jumping (or muscle spasm?) in my left eyelid that happens periodically.  It is really annoying.  I've had it before but never ever like this.  It's crazy.  It's starting to drive me crazy.  I read online that it can sometimes happen in pregnancy.

    8.  I am mentally ready for baby to get here.  I am tired of worrying and/or waiting each day.  My anxiety is tripping out some days.

    9.  My mom is tripping out about the whole church and Jesus thing.  She keeps telling me that we have to take the baby to church and raise it in a church etc.  Which I agree with.  However, the main reason I don't currently go to church is I have developed over the past few years a major social anxiety.   That an living in a different city than the one I grew up in, I have a fear of meeting new people etc.   It is hard to explain.  On the phone tonight she asked me if I was going to tell our baby about baby Jesus and the meaning of Christmas and I was like yes.  I told her I want to get a Little People nativity scene.   Then my mom went on to tell me how my cousin wasn't going to tell her two year old about baby Jesus just b/c her husband didn't believe in Him.

    10.  I think it is safe to say that my mom is getting on my nerves just a bit.

  • @MrsKubley Pretoria in South Africa :)

Well that explains a ton!! I think a WI winter would knock you on your ass but your summer would probably do the same to me (and I love heat). I'd send you a snowball if I could dear.
  • Good luck to all you ladies fighting off the cold weather :) That sounds awful I will be honest.

So excited for you and slightly jealous! I really wanted to do the Bradley method, but since my doctor is insisting I go at 38 weeks, I will likely have to have medicine to be induced - i.e. monitored in bed. Booo...  maybe next baby!
  • @JennyS86
I'm right there with you on the apple slices with peanut butter! The apples have been so sweet, crisp, and juicy lately. Plus when tempted to eat sweets or candy, I go for fruit first and usually I don't need that snickers after all :)
  • @ LemmyRN honestly I do both.  but I eat less candy that way.  the oranges are great this time of year too!

  • @valerie4786 haha sad tears. When you say nacho cheese I assume the stuff that comes out of the machine at sporting events (maybe I'm wrong) which I don't consider real cheese. DH and I like to make nachos and he gets a bunch of different cheeses and shreds them onto chips with some seasoned meat and then bakes it  so yummy

@MrsKubley yeah I get sad when we leave Wisconsin and don't have a massive cheese selection at the grocery store.
  • @ doozer1345  what's the story of your water breaking?
