TTT

Ten (or three) things happening in your life right now...let's hear 'em!

1. The week between Christmas and New Years was great! H was home with DD and I and we spent lots of quality time together. Very limited bumping but that's ok.
2. NYE was so chill. We putDD down at a normal time and then cooked a fancy dinner; lobster tails and filet. It was so good!
3. After dinner we watched 'Martian' with Matt Damon. I was unsure about it, but it was an awesome movie.
4. Related to number 3, I really enjoy space related movies. When I was young I wanted to be an astronaut. I watched Apollo 13 and though it would be a good occupation. Ha!
5. I started reading the "The life changing art of tidying up" by Marie Kondo. So far so good. I'm interested to see if I can actually purge as much as she's suggesting. Has anyone followed her advice and had success?
6. We have our anatomy scan on Friday and I'm anxious to see if baby is developing properly. It's such an exciting yet anxiety provoking scan!
7. We found out that my SIL (who's been trying for over a year) is 12 weeks pregnant. I'm over the moon for them! I'm also so excited that DD will have a cousin in July!
8. I feel more worn out than usual. DD is going through a tantrum/yelling phase so that's probably why, but its especially trying the last few weeks for me.
9. H is bugging me for more sex than once a week. My drive has yet to return. I don't know what to tell him anymore. It's not my fault. Damn hormones.
10. I just want to lay around and hibernate now that it's actually cold here. I'm so not a cold weather gal!

  • @Jenly17 How exciting for your SIL! :) It took my DH and I almost two years to get pregnant. I bet they are ecstatic! Have you seen Interstellar? DH and I watched that the other night, it was pretty good. I still want to see the Martian.

@jessiedee13 Is your husband a CPA? That's kinda rude your parents left before the reveal, it's not like they would have had to wait that long!

@charissadeats there's plenty of room in northern WI for you, there's a high of 2 degrees on Sunday and a low of -11
  • @MrsKubley That actually sounds like a dream right now - although I am pretty sure I will regret it, won't I?
  • @js8812 Temperatures and weather patterns are weird all round at the moment. This is supposed to be our rain season and it is DRY. The farm animals are starving and dying in heaps because of this. I don't think my body will know what to do with 52 Below though (assuming it's Fahrenheit?).
  • @charissadeats Yep, Fahrenheit.  :P
  • 1. Our crib is supposed to be delivered today. I'm excited because it was originally on back order until at least February.
    2. All I care to eat recently is cheese and crackers and grapes. And the occasional large fry with extra ketchup

Ugh. TB ate my post and I'm not re-writing it. It was awesome.

@TXmamatobe Oh no and here I was looking forward to the rest  (Not joking I really was - I love TTT)
  • @AdorkablePixie he's not a CPA yet, he's still in school, but he works at an accounting place and it's his job to mail out his clients w2 forms this month...yippee for 12 hour weeks days plus saturdays!!! I know right, about my parents. Although I'm not even half surprised. They demand that I speed up the birthday parties because "we have stuff to do today". Sorry your grandchildren inconvenience you that much....just stop coming then. But they don't pass up a free meal...ugh
  • @jessiedee13 I worked at a CPA firm until I got my degree and started working for the government. I HATED the tax season hours, I even had to go in two Sundays at the end of tax season. I was not a happy camper.

That's crazy your parents rush things like that, you'd think they'd enjoy the time with family!!

  • @AdorkablePixie I HATE his hours right now. Love the paychecks though. Thank goodness it's just for January and an occasional February weekend (he actually gets his work done on time...and all of it...so they call him for the extras) but it's so hard on the kids...and their mama!
I wish I could be surprised the way my parents act. They're those if it doesn't benefit me I don't care kind of people. So free food? I'm there. A party? What an inconvenience. Ugh. I'm just used to it.
  • @swflJD HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!! I've forgotten my birthday birthday before...but it seems like a hard thing to forget lol
  • @laurenmdrn16 your silly supper sounds like a craving of mine lol I'll be over for that
  • @EErin86 I was debating whether it would be worse to do the bachelorette party before or after baby was born. I think both options will be pretty miserable, but I'm leaning towards after. I thought about skipping it, too, but I think my sister would be pretty sad.
  • 1. Eating chili right now... yum.
    2. Got the oil changed at lunch - feeling productive.
    3. Told the office today I was pregnant. Glad because now I can start chatting with the woman who just returned from maternity leave with all my questions.
    4. Frustrated because I can't find a daycare that does part time for infant. I really do not want to pay for my child to be there full time if they will not be.
    5. As soon as I announced, was asked by another woman to help throw a male coworker his baby shower. Blah. I don't want to plan anything else. But I will.
    6. I think something is wrong with my phone - died super fast, and now it won't charge/turn on. This came out of the blue - any suggestions? (iphone 6)
    7. My mom decided not to go on a girl's trip to Vegas because her boss was going to make her choose between that or taking time off when I have the baby. I feel awful.
    8. I've had coffee twice this week for the first time in months. Not starting off on a good foot.
    9. I still have holiday cards I haven't sent out. But they say "Happiest Holiday" so I'm just going to tell everyone they are Valentine's Day cards :)
    10. Have already started watching the clock for the end of day... this is not good!

  • 10. I have been craving nacho cheese like crazy...I've had it with meals about 4-5 times over the past week. I need a nacho cheese intervention. Although I am seriously glad the holidays are over so I can get back to normal eating habits without all the extra sweets/junk around.

But what is nacho cheese? Is it...queso? My Texan brain doesn't understand. :p

  • @Bluejay3030 her best friend is an accountant and can't do anything until May. I figured a tiny baby tagging along might be better than wondering if I'm going to go into labor.

I'm usually a huge planner so it's been hard not knowing what to expect with my first baby and having such a big event to work around and attend ask related activities. My plan is to wing it. It's really weirding me out how ok I am with not knowing all the details.

@valerie4786 nacho cheese??? The WI part of me is crying a little bit.
