On the right is Bailey. She is going to be 6 in August. I've had her since she was 3 months old and she is my first child. She is so smart but so stubborn. She learned how to open the fridge so now we have to have a child lock on it. I think she is going to be jealous of the baby which makes me a little worried.

I've had both of them sine they were 12 weeks. Titan was dumped with a litter in the woods, and when we picked him up, he had over 100 ticks on him - poor baby! We got Smalls from a family who had puppies.
Titan's story - shortly after I got Titan, I was diagnosed with Stage 4 Heart Failure and off work/very weak for several months. Even as a lab puppy, Titan understood and would get his energy out, but be so gentle with me. He is so amazing - we have always been incredibly close because of that. Now that I'm pregnant, he is just as protective of me and always wants to be near me. He is a gentle soul.
Smalls' story - Everyone says Smalls looks mean because he is a boxer, but he is loves to cuddle. He 'growls' to get attention, but that is just how he talks because he can't stop shaking his butt the entire time from excitement. He is definitely a 'pack' animal and howls if he is left alone in a room.
I am SO excited for this baby because I know he will have 2 awesome older brothers. Smalls may be a little jealous, but he wouldn't take it out on the baby. He would just jump in his Dad's arms whenever the baby isn't there.
Titan will be amazing, and I've already told my husband that I know I will become the '2nd favorite' in Titan's eyes, after our son. I know he will protect him, just as he protects me.
Soooo... definitely started crying while writing this. So glad they are a part of our family!

Haha we have the locked trashcan too and she has learned how to unlock it. She is literally the most intelligent dog I know and it gets her in trouble way too often. We have had to start setting heavy things on top of the trash. It is terrible. The fridge was shocking. She ate so many things that she shouldn't. We ended up taking her to the vet because I was so worried and they x-rayed her. The vet was shocked by how much was in her stomach. She was totally fine which was a good thing!
We have taken her to training, but she just picks up on everything the first try and then gets bored. If I didn't love her so much I would kill her (totally kidding). She is lucky she is the best snuggler in the world.
But they are family pets!
Black one is Dragon and the two Bullies is Bullet and Brandy.
He's already amazing with DD! If you ask DD who her best friend is, she says Thor every time. He listens to her so well and they play together all the time. I love that she has a pet she can be so close to! I just hope he takes to the new baby as well as he does with DD.
DH jokes that he's going to forever be the only man in the house because Thor pees like a girl. He always has and we have no idea why he never lifted his leg! So weird!
Molly is our dog, we rescued her in April. She's a lab/schipperke mix. She is a complete, 100% daddy's girl. She's so sweet, gentle, and affectionate! But she gets really jealous and needs lots attention, so I can see her being jealous of baby. But we'll be sure to give her plenty of lovin' too
I also think I may have been a little excited and gone overboard with the pictures on mine - sorry about that!
DS: Born 5-17-16
The day I started using the car childlocks obsessively was the day that Jake managed to open the rear window and jump out of the car in pursuit of a rabbit he saw. Thankfully, we were right by our apartment at the time and it wasn't a busy area. He also darted through electric fence 1.0 at our house to chase a squirrel out of our yard and was hit by a car. Luckily, he survived because DH and I were able to get him to the emergency vet so quickly. I had been nursing DS at the time who was only 3 weeks old, and watching Jake through the window; it was horrifying. He recovered quickly, but has become more reactive since (more barking, more wary of strangers). We aim for peaceful coexistence between Jake and DS for now (it's safer that way IMO) and hope for the same with DS2. Jake is actually very protective of DS and either plays well with him or simply ignores him depending on his mood.
Eta: He's a cuddle bug. He burrows under the covers with DH and me at night and sleeps either behind my knees or up by my stomach. Since having DS, he's needed to adjust that a bit and cuddle with DH since DS and I bedshare sometimes, but he has taken the transition really well.
DS: Born 5-17-16
First up is Hazel. I adopted her on May 1, 2008. She is probably 8 and a half. Only is the past 2 years has she come out of her shell. She is so stinking cute and sweet, and a bit stubborn. She ADORE my husband- will cuddle with him but barely cuddles with me. When she feels like moving, she runs around like a bat out of hell. She follows the sun spots around the house, and is always trying to sneak into our room to snuggle on our bed. It took me a very long time to bond with her, but now I couldn't imagine her not being around.
Two year ago this Saturday my "Bubby" died. Henry was my baby. My shadow. I know it sounds dramatic or crazy, but there was a connection between us. I love this cat more than anything, and not a day goes by that I don't miss him. He gave the BEST headbutts, and kept my lap warm. Where I was, he was. I am glad we have our gender reveal tonight to distract me from the sad memories this weekend. He got sick so so so quickly and I wasn't prepared for him to die. I miss my baby
I think Hazel will be really good with baby. I don't think Henry would have been at all. He got jealous of anyone/thing that I would give attention to. I hate to sound crass but DH and I have said maybe its good how it worked out. I honestly would have never been able to rehome him if he was bad around the baby. Hazel keeps her distance from new people, so I think she will be ok once she has had time to adjust.
Ahh, I love all the pets!! Our first pet together was a kitten, because I was begging for a pet and he was still heartbroken over his last dog and wasn't ready to get a new one. Our cat is named Miss Kitty Lickins and we've had her probably close to five years now. She was so sweet in the beginning, then turned into Satan as an adult and has since been banned from the house by my husband (he did build her a kitty condo though for outside, which she loves). I sneak her in to snuggle with me when he's not home yesterday she had a long cozy nap underneath the Christmas tree. I am the only person in the world she shows affection to and showed my husband how much she hated him by peeing on his clothes.
About two years into our relationship my husband decided he was ready for a dog and we adopted our sweet little mutt! His name is Mr Sly Sniffins and he holds up to his name...he's got quite the sniffin snout! When we got him he was literally skin and bones, which they told us he had put on weight since they brought him into the agency. He had run from his initial abusive family and got picked up by our local et adoption agency, where they adopted him out to an older woman who basically kept him crated all day, abused him, and never fed him. I'm not sure how he managed to run from her, but he did and he got picked up by the same adoption agency. My husband knew at first sight this was our dog, before we had even met him, but when we did get to meet him it was love! He is by far the sweetest puppy I have ever owned. He loves to snuggle and sleeps under the blankets with us at night. He will be the BEST when our baby comes.

Heathcliff is the pup in the second picture (with Carly and their cousins), taken many months ago - now he's almost nine months, and turning into a pretty wonderful dog. We got him in April at seven weeks, to be the successor to our last dog, Pascal (bottom picture). Pascal was almost eight, and according to most people who met him, the sweetest, friendliest dog of all time, the love of my life, and I was so happy to bring a baby into the family with him around. Pretty devastating when we suddenly found out in January that he had cancer running through his nervous system up to his spine, and he died within the month. I wasn't really ready for another dog, but I really wanted my future baby to grow up with a lab, and that I wanted that to happen soon, so I got Heathcliff right away, totally forgetting how difficult puppies make your life. He's calmer now though, so becoming more and more worth it! I think they'll both be fine with the baby, Heathcliff just needs to learn that it's okay not to be the center of attention!
The first is Finn. He's half shi tzu half yorkie but you'd never know he was anything but yorkie. Hes from a litter of my aunts dogs. He's a sweet boy, but is really bad at going to the bathroom in the house, and causes me to threaten to take him to the pound every day lol he's ok with our daughter but is quick to get away from her. He'll be 4 in August.
This is our lovely Fiona. Our first baby and the best dog ever. We got her when she was 7 weeks and has been the sweetest cuddly girl ever since. She tolerates our daughter very well, until DD starts pulling on hair, etc. she's not fast enough so she gets lots of hugs and kisses. Our baby girl will be 6 in September!
Buddy is our rescue that my husband saved in September. He was so skinny, dehydrated, and running towards a freeway. He is so loving it surprised me his owners never search for or claimed him. He's still skinny, but all the food we give him goes to muscle and bone growth. He is also super protective against dogs, even little chihuahuas.
The two were instant BFFs and it helped Riley become more independent and happy; before Buddy she was starting to get separation anxiety.
He doesn't have a lot of experience around kids, but the times he has been around them he's very well behaved. He doesn't mind hair/ear pulling and tends to just walk away if he gets too annoyed. He isn't possessive at all - you could take away his favorite treat or a full bowl of food and he just kinda stares at you like 'Wtf, give it back', but no snapping, growling, biting, etc. He tends to get a little rough when playing if he gets worked up or excited, but as said before he's very smart so we're working on training right now so he behaves a little better around baby. He is very gentle when around the smaller/older dogs in the family like he knows they can't play like he wants, so usually he'll crouch to their level, just smell and lick them, and try to play gently. So I hope some of that will translate over to how he acts with baby.
Here he is the one year we tried to shove him in a Halloween costume. He hated it and kept trying to eat the shirt, but all the little kids loved 'Spiderdog' when we took him for his walk that day.

They are both sweet and loving and goofy. I can't imagine our lives with out them. They are 3 now.
He's a beagle so he's obviously pretty food motivated. He once ate half a package of bacon DH left on the counter for me to use. When I went to the kitchen all that remained was the packaging and a very happy beagle. We learned our lesson and now keep all food very far away from Snoop. He's so naughty but he's ours and we wouldn't change a single thing about him!
@BabyL52716 My friend also has a cute cat named meatloaf! You don't hear that name often for animals. Or I don't anyway. It's cute!

She's also crazy and will randomly run around the house in the middle of the night for no reason, meowing and all.
How will she do with the baby? I think she will probably avoid him. At least I hope, because I don't want her to try to cuddle with him.
Next up is Lily, my black and white cocker spaniel. She is 11 years old now and is such a sweetie. I've had her since she was 8 weeks old and I love her to pieces. She loves kids and is going to do great with the baby!
Zoey is our Black and Tan cocker spaniel. She just turned 7 and went blind back in October. She has lost most Vision but I can tell she still sees a little in bright light. I think she will do okay with the baby and love him lots.

9/15/2015: BFP HCG - 400, 9/17/2015: HCG - 827, 9/21/2015 - HCG 3,327!3 years ago, we went to the shelter to checkout another cat we thought we loved based on the shelters website but connected with our Sach instead. She was free because she's so antisocial. She comes to you. If you're too interested in her she wants nothing to do with you.
I love her and our relationship is good but she LOVES my H. If he and I are sitting next to each other on the couch she'll squeeze herself in between. When LO arrives I think she'll be a little curious but honestly I think she'll be relieved and assume I got my own cat/baby. She'll be fine with me holding and interacting with baby. It's my H who will need to make sure he gives her one on one attention so she doesn't become jealous.

Here's Kingsley, he's 7.5 but we adopted him 3 years ago. He's a retired racing greyhound so he had a lot to learn about being in a family, but he has definitely bonded to us as his people. When it snows he transforms into a seal and slides around. He's a gentle giant with some track related quirks, mainly that he is not small animal safe. King has more of a tolerance approach with DS.
This is Pippa (the Pomeranian) and Alfie (the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel) when they were puppies and now.
Pippa is 2 and Alfie is turning 2. Pippa was our first baby and is a daddy's girl while Alfie loves everybody. Pippa is the spoiled princess of our house while Alfie is the laid back snuggle bug.
I think Alfie is the most gentle and will love LO when he arrives, while Pippa will take some getting used to.
