@jellybiehn The beta draws differ from doctor to doctor and I would assume from patient to patient as well. My doctor won't even let me schedule an appt or US until my HCG is >2000. I became pregnant with no medical interventions and have no history to report, other than a very 'textbook' first pregnancy...so doing bloodwork in my case has nothing to do with either of those factors. When I called after my BFP, I was told to schedule my first beta (drawn 12/28) from which I received results today and then proceeded with a second draw, as requested by my OB.
If you want your doctor to do a beta draw, definitely call them and ask! I should certainly hope they accommodate your wishes - it is your body afterall! Good luck!
I transferred two 5 day blasts on the 18th. First HPT showed positive 5 days later! 10dpt -535 12dpt-1083
I'm going for a third on the 4th because my RE wants one after 14dpt.
I've been blessed that my clinic has their own lab so my results are same day. However my first beta I had to go to Quest because their office was being moved and it took almost 24 hours for the results..at least it was better than the projected 2 days that they said it would take.
I'm anxious for US to find out how many are in there!!
@jellybiehn I'm so glad you asked! I was wondering the same thing. I just called to make my first appointment this morning, and when I mentioned the beta tests, I got a very puzzled response (I actually felt a little stupid for asking). So it seems like it isn't necessarily routine to get them done.
My first beta was 461 (12/28) and my second one was 2130 (12/30). It seems really high...perhaps multiples? I'll know on the 13th when I have my ultrasound. We had two embryos transferred so multiples are definitely a possibility!
Just got the results of my second draw taken at 20 dpo. HCG is 1903 (up from 911 on Mon) but Progesterone was only 11.63 (down from 14.16 on Mon). I'm starting progesterone suppositories tonight and will continue until 10 weeks, assuming baby sticks that long. The only other person I know who has had similar circumstances requiring the suppositories ended up miscarrying. I'm a little disheartened but still hopeful...
Anyone have any stories of low Progesterone and suppository use that resulted in a happy ending they can share?
@JennM205 that's a great rise! I'm sure with supps you will be fine! My last pregnancy my progesterone was 9 around 5 weeks and I started vaginal prometrium and continued taking them until 12 weeks. All was fine!

@JennM205 mine was 11.9 at 4 weeks and I've been on oral progesterone x's 5 days. My doc said he's not going to repeat it as long as my HCG continues to double.
Still waiting for my third beta on Monday morning. But I'm feeling relieved since I took another FRER this morning and a CB digital. My FRER was darker than two days ago and the test line was a little darker than the control. And the digital went from "pregnant 1-2" to 2-3! If my beta doubled (in 48 hours) from Wednesday then it would be at least 160 today. And the digitals don't turn to 2-3 weeks until your HCG is about 200. So I'm feeling like this might actually work out! My best friend who has also been TTC got a positive HPT this morning so it's a great day! I'm so excited to be due within a week of each other!

TTC for Baby #1 for 3 years. After 2 failed IUI's & IVFs, God blessed us with our miracle . FET 12/17/15 (transferred 2 embryos at 5days). First Beta 12/29/15 = 354. Second Beta 12/31/15 = 694. Third Beta 1/7/16 = 6,695. Finally heard his heartbeat (126) on 1/14/16 @ our 1st US. 2nd US on 1/21/16, HR was 159. The most beautiful sound ever

Whoops! Sorry ladies for anyone that was offended! I actually have only heard the phrase from here on the bump when I was pregnant with my first back in 2014 and it was always lighthearted and supportive. And this is the only baby board i've ever been apart of But definitely wouldn't want to upset anyone so will remove that phrase from my vocab! And, @CharmBombExplosion I appreciate your looking out for us mamas and letting me know @sarafuss congrats on the new news with the HPTs looking forward to Monday results for both of us!

I had my levels drawn at 13dpo (last Monday) and HCG was 184 and progesterone 26.4. My dr said they were perfect and that they didn't need repeated. The longer I thought about it, the more uneasy I felt. I wanted to make sure they were doubling. I called today and I go in tomorrow. The nurse said my level should be near 3000 if it's been doubling properly.
Mine was 213 at 9dp5dt. I just had my second one today and will know the results tomorrow. Forgot to ask about my progestorone, but I'm on supplements already.
I had my beta draw today. Waiting for the results. In the meantime I did another FRER and it's noticeably lighter than yesterday. I feel sick and very sad.

Thank you. Me too. Yes I should hear before noon. The only hope I have is that this test was not FMU and I peed right on the test. I also drank a large tea before testing. For all the other ones I dunked them in a cup. Still, it is noticeably lighter.

@laurenlalap With my first my numbers started out very very low and my OB was concerned it was chemical pregnancy. My first number was in the 20s but over time it grew and everything turned out to be ok. Praying you have a similar outcome! Did they run progesterone? Are you on supps?

Here's what she said, verbatim: in as many patients with viable pregnancies I've seen, I've seen just as many different level increases and doubling rates. For many patients they don't start rapidly increasing until they break the 1,000 level."
They're having me go back for another draw tomorrow, and said as long as they increase, we'll hang tight until the ultrasound on the 19th.
I guess the moral of the story is as long as the numbers aren't decreasing, you're still in it!
Re: Beta Results
If you want your doctor to do a beta draw, definitely call them and ask! I should certainly hope they accommodate your wishes - it is your body afterall! Good luck!

I'm going for a third on the 4th because my RE wants one after 14dpt.
I've been blessed that my clinic has their own lab so my results are same day. However my first beta I had to go to Quest because their office was being moved and it took almost 24 hours for the results..at least it was better than the projected 2 days that they said it would take.
I'm anxious for US to find out how many are in there!!
Just got the results of my second draw taken at 20 dpo. HCG is 1903 (up from 911 on Mon) but Progesterone was only 11.63 (down from 14.16 on Mon). I'm starting progesterone suppositories tonight and will continue until 10 weeks, assuming baby sticks that long. The only other person I know who has had similar circumstances requiring the suppositories ended up miscarrying. I'm a little disheartened but still hopeful...
Anyone have any stories of low Progesterone and suppository use that resulted in a happy ending they can share?

It seems low to me and I'm a little worried since my numbers were higher from my first pregnancy but there were two sacs, one was empty. Going back for second beta tomorrow...hopefully get good results.

My dr said they were perfect and that they didn't need repeated. The longer I thought about it, the more uneasy I felt. I wanted to make sure they were doubling. I called today and I go in tomorrow.
The nurse said my level should be near 3000 if it's been doubling properly.
I should know the result on Wednesday morning.

The only hope I have is that this test was not FMU and I peed right on the test. I also drank a large tea before testing.
For all the other ones I dunked them in a cup.
Still, it is noticeably lighter.
