  • 2. TWW, 5dpo, meeting with my OB today, hopefully to find out next steps. Hoping she'll do bloodwork today at least.

    3. Might be bringing DS to an early kids' New Years celebration, then just hanging at home.

    3. GTKY: What are you New Year's plans?  Some friends are coming over.
  • Just have to add that the OB office just called me to remind me of my appointment tomorrow, which would have been our first ultrasound. Thanks for the reminder, a holes! You would think they would automatically cancel those when someone has a loss (and has been in clear communication with them about the loss)
  • @strickland8052 i have to call and cancel all mine. They don't just do it automatically. After I gave birth to DS, I had an appointment scheduled and I needed to call and cancel it even though my doctor obviously knew I'd given birth. Managing appointments aren't her responsibility, they're the receptionist's and she's not aware of everyone situations.

  • 2. Status (WTO, TWW, Benched, etc.):
BFN today, I'm bummed. I never thought it would be so difficult to get pregnant. I started TTC in 2012 thinking I'd have two kids back to back and be done. I'm so thankful for my son, but I just struggle to control my guilt/regret for not having children earlier in my marriage and during graduate school. Ugh,I guess when you start you just never anticipate things likes infertility, miscarriages etc. Vent over, thanks ladies.
    3. GTKY: What are you New Year's plans? I usually don't do anything for New Years eve. My town does a big ocean swim on New Years Day which is always fun to watch.

    3. I don't have any. Think hubs and I are holidayed out. Well probably make yummy snacks and watch movies at home.

  • 2. Well supposed to be benched after a CP on 12/20, but DH ended up HIO last night after a lot of wine was consumed...
    3. Probably staying home DH works that night

  • 2. TWW. 7 DPO. This is our third cycle after our miscarriage. Trying to be patient and not do any early testing this month.
    3. I really just wanna stay home with DH and watch tv but we might go spend some time with family....we'll see
  • 2. TWW, 10 DPO. Tests so far have been negative. I think we are out this cycle. Our timing was terrible (-4, +1) and with my first pregnancy I turned a test at 9 DPO. We will see. I think I'm going to test NYE. AF is due on Friday.

    3. We don't have any set plans but a friend is having a party at their house so we may go to that.

  • 1. TWW, 14dpo, af due today, BFN so far. Not completely giving up hope this cycle since 2 of my 3 pregnancies I got BFP 15+dpo.

    2. We'll be home watching the bowl games on NYE. Go 'Noles!

@strickland8052 - that really sucks. I had a similar experience after my mmc - I was scheduled for fetal testing the week after my d&c, and it caught me totally off guard when I got a reminder call for the appointment.

  • 2. Benched until next cycle. Patiently awaiting AF so that we can get started already. I've been temping and I either ovulated 12/18 or 12/23. Even though I'm anxious to get started TTC, I'm hoping it was 12/23 so taht I won't need to worry about packing HPTs when we are on vacation at the end of January. I get hormone testing and we both meet with the genetic counselor this week.

    3. When I thought that I would be pregnant on NYE, I was completely fine with staying home on NYE. Now I'd like to go out, but our closest friends (who know about the MC) want us to go to some all you can drink party at a bar for $150. They see it as their last time to party with us before we get KU'd again and went as far to call us boring when we declined. Something about thinking that those days were over and then being out there anyway doing that stuff just seems sadder to me than staying in. I'm stillhoping something more low-key comes up, but DH and I will probably just sit at home with some wine and watch Netflix.
  • . Introduce yourself (if you're new): Not really new just back again. We had to take us some time and regroup and work on us. the past 2 mmc really took a toll on us. I am 25 husband is 24. been married for almost 2 years. we have 3 fur babies 2 dogs 1 cat. we have had 2 documented mmc.

    2. Status (WTO, TWW, Benched, etc.): we are WTO but doing the baby dance every other day. CD8.

    3. GTKY: What are you New Year's plans? I am a nurse so I will be at the hospital bring and early jan 1 so we will baby dance and eat a nice meal together then off to bed we go :)

    1. Hello, I (unfortunately) go here now. I'm currently going through a miscarriage (was 7 weeks exactly). It was my first pregnancy, and we were so shocked and happy when we lucked out our first month TTC. I'm still processing everything, which is tough, but wanted to introduce myself here. I only lurked August '16 because I was worried I would "jinx" the pregnancy by participating... Turns out, all I ended up doing was isolating myself. I'm going to start wading into the boards a bit more, though. A little more about us: I'm 32, H is 33, married 5 years, together almost 14. I have Hashimotos and may have the MTHFR mutation (family history, never tested myself)

    2. I'm not sure why my whole post didn't show up on mobile... Hmm. Long story short: benched for 1 month. Need to regulate my thyroid a bit better with PCP, and follow up with OB in 1 month to make sure miscarriage happened normally, and to discuss MTHFR issues.

    3. We were supposed to go to a friends house, but it will be a game time decision for me. My emotions fluctuate a lot from day to day, and hour by hour.

ETA: oh, and @strickland8052, that really sucks. Did you have any other appointments scheduled? If so, I'd call to cancel them now. I can only imagine how much that reminder must suck.
  • @RiverSong15  I'm sorry for your loss. But welcome, I hope this board will help you as much as it did (and does) for me.

    2. We are still benched, but haven't been as careful as we should be (no real medical reason for it, we are just still monitoring my cycle for my acupuncturist). Unfortunately, with the holidays and our vacation to NOLA this month my temp chart is all over the place so i'm not sure how helpful it is this cycle anyway.

    3. We will be attending a wedding on the 31st that I'm sure will go into the new year. My DH's birthday is the 1st so we will visit is parents that day.

  • 2. Status (WTO, TWW, Benched, etc.): Technically suppose to be benched; we are HIO anyways. I've been really in the mood since my miscarriage on 12/16...is that weird? I thought sex would be the last thing I would want to do.

    3. GTKY: What are you New Year's plans? We are having some friends over.

    3. We are headed to the beach to visit with family for New Years, but we won't be going out and I doubt if I'll make it to midnight!

I don't think it's weird. I can understand wanting the emotional and physical connection with your H.

And thanks @GoldenTMama for the welcome. I'm sorry we all find ourselves here, but I'm hoping that talking to women who "get it" will help. I have no one other than H, and don't want to burden him all the time.
  • I'm so sorry for your loss @RiverSong15, but welcome to the board. I hope you find comfort in the support you receive here.

    2. Status (WTO, TWW, Benched, etc.): WTO. Currently waiting for AF to go away so we can start trying again this month. DH seems much more invested in trying, so FX for the elusive BFP.

    3. GTKY: What are you New Year's plans?

DH has to work on New Years day, so we will probably just chill at home with the dogs. I'm just hoping he doesn't get called in again this week. Between the flooding and now sleet and snow, its been crazy.
  • @dogmomwantinghuman not strange at all. I'm feeling the same way. Supposed to be benched but we just can't help ourselves ;)

  • Hi all, merry Christmas and happy holidays.

    2. Currently in TWW- 8 dpo. Temps seem to confirm ovulation, this is my first real cycle ttcal. We did the BD 4,2 days before O and also the day of O. We shall see, I don't think it will happen this month, I just have a feeling.

    3. My parents flew in to visit for the holidays, so I am looking forward to a low key evening with loved ones and some champagne (will test probably NY eve to check). We have some traditions, one is to eat 12 grapes at midnight and make a wish for each month of the year. DH and I started going out again a little after my second loss, but it just made me realize that I don't enjoy the loud parties with obnoxious drunk people as much as I used too (haha maybe I was the obnoxious one).

Happy new year to all future mommies of the ttcal board, I wish everyone babies for 2016!

  • 1. I'm Jess, 29 and married for two and a half years to DH (also 29). I miscarried my first pregnancy at 7 weeks, after spotting on and off from four and a half weeks and having betas that were not doubling. We did have a heartbeat (and hope) at 6w but unfortunately it was not meant to be. It took us five months of trying to get pregnant so we're hoping it doesn't take quite as long this time!

    2. TWW - I haven't had a period since my MC but my doc was fine with us trying again without waiting so her I am back in limbo. I'm spotting today, which is typical for me at 6DPO and my temps rose so it does seem like I probably ovulated, guess we'll see what happens!

    3. Going to the cottage with DHs family for New Years. Nothing fancy, just some time away to relax.

  • @RiverSong15 so sorry for your loss. Welcome to the board - wishing you a short stay and very much support!

@dogmomwantinghuman I was the same way. It's not weird, like PP said, the physical and emotional connection with your DH can be helpful!

    2. TWW 7dpo here. Symptom spotting like a madlady. Trying not to, but... Boobs are getting sore and I had slight cramping this morning. Hopeful here, testing planned for NYD at the earliest but I'll probably wait until 1/3 which is 12dpo.

    3. All our friends are out of town or spending the holiday with family and our family didn't come in/ we didn't go home. So DH & I might go to a fancy 4 course dinner & celebration.

  • 2. Status (WTO, TWW, Benched, etc.): Still benched, initially for an ectopic, now because my OB is trying to correct my hypothyroidism.  This seriously feels like forever.

    3. GTKY: What are you New Year's plans? Going to a friend's party.
  • 1. Just did an intro post. Still relearning Etiquette as I haven't been on much in rescue years, so help me out! I am 35 TTC #2 w/ PCOS after two recent losses

2.status. Self imposed benched. After last loss in October I told hubby TTC was on hold till 2016. As that is quickly approaching I'm thinking about getting my toes wet but am super nervous to try again.

3.new years plans: crab legs, artichokes, loaf of French bread and wine. Lots of butter too!!! Oh, other than food? Cuddling at home with hubby making fun of the new years coverage.
  • @strickland8052
Just had the same problem last week. I thought I canceled them all but apparently missed my 20 week scan. Thought it was my DD's booster shot appoint and felt like an idiot for going down on the wrong day only to realize it was supposed to be for me.
  • 2. WTO here, if AF doesn't stop when it's supposed to, will be starting progesterone for a week to get my cycle regulated again.
    3. I've never really enjoyed NYE for some reason, haha. DH and I will be going to a super low key hangout with friends. The last holiday party I went to was attended by two pregnant women and 3 infants/toddlers. The hostess didn't know about our situation so obviously no foul, but it was hard to put on a happy face there nonetheless. Luckily, NYE parties tend to be less child-friendly events. Definitely looking forward to a night out to have an adult beverage or two.

    @penelope4612
Good luck getting your thyroid regulated. I saw in your other post that your OB is doing something about it, even though your PCP was just "watching" it. Your OB sounds like he is following current standard of care for women who want to become pregnant, which is good. Have they tested antibodies to know if it's Hashimotos? Some doctors don't because 95% of hypothyroid cases is the US are due to Hashi's, but since it is an autoimmune disease, It may be helpful to confirm.

Let me know if you have any questions about thyroid stuff. I've been dealing with it for almost a year now, so I understand the frustration that goes along with it!
  • Welcome to all the new ladies.

    2. Status (WTO, TWW, Benched, etc.): benched I guess, until the bleeding stops and I talk to the OB Tuesday and find out when we're allowed to start trying. I hope it's soon. I feel like just waiting gives me too much time to be sad and overthink things.

    3. GTKY: What are you New Year's plans?
Nothing at the moment. We've gone cosmic bowling in years past, but I don't know if we'll feel up to it.
Rainbow baby Dean is due 2/17/17!
  • 1. Intro: Hi ladies, I'm truly sorry for all of the losses which have brought us together. DH and I are both 30, married now for 3.5 years, proud dog parents to a 5 year old Boston Terrier Beagle, our best friend and best listener. TTC #1 since July 2014, much complicated by hubby's oil rig work schedule for the first year of TTC (3 weeks away, 3 weeks home). We have suffered two pregnancy losses; 6w6d in April 2015, and 5w4d in November 2015. Between the losses during the summer, DH found a new job and since then has been home on a regular basis, it has been such a positive change for our relationship and grief/TTC anxiety. I think the positive change helped us to get pregnant the second time, even if the little angel couldn't stay. It has been an interesting year for my whole family; my younger brother got married in August 2015 after a whirlwind engagement, and they are now expecting. I actually just came home from their gender reveal party (it's a boy!) and found myself needing to reach out to some people who can relate - and here I am. You may find me on posts about dealing with a sibling's pregnancy while TTCAL.

    2. Status: WTO....well, as it was gender reveal party day, my body also decided it was a good day for AF to show her ugly face. So I'm CD1. It is the first AF since our second loss, but we did give it a good try in the last few weeks, I had very strong ovulation symptoms and doc said no need to wait. I didn't expect much since it usually takes us about 5 good cycles of trying to get pregnant each time, but still- I felt like I was being played by the universe as I ran to the bathroom multiple times at a gender reveal party to change my tampon! Silver lining is that I'm relieved to have a normal AF, exactly two weeks after O. If anything, looks like we are back to normal heading into the new year. Never been more ready to leave a year behind.

    3. GTKY: DH works until 8pm on NYE and then again at 8am the next day. For a while now we've been planning a low key night at home. @chloe97 I completely feel you on your thoughts about being out and partying when you thought you would be in a totally different place this NYE. This has greatly affected our decision to keep to ourselves. We have great friends who are supportive but just can't bring ourselves to do the normal night out this year.

Sorry if that got a little long.
I wish you all a healthy New Year!

  • ******* TW - Possible BFP Mentioned *******

I'm 9dpo today, and I've been having trouble symptom spotting the last few days. Finally yesterday my breasts were so sore and I felt so fatigued (for no real reason) I caved, and this AM I tested my FMU with a CB digital test. It came back with a BFP, and I want to be excited, but I'm afraid it's a chemical because I got a positive so early. I will be lurking here until blood work next week can confirm it's a viable pregnancy.

Congrats @FireInWonderland! For what it's worth, I got my BFP the evening of 9 DPO. Obviously it didn't stick, but I made it to 7 weeks, so at least it wasn't a chemical. I know it's anecdotal, but hopefully it will make you feel better about it not being a CP! I'm thinking nice, sticky baby thoughts for you!
