OMG Hahaha! I was looking up ideas for baby shower fails/bad cakes and came across this! Don't ask me why but it struck me as hilarious! Apparently its just a prank gift box you can buy to put your baby shower present in to fool people. But I still find it funny!
You guys were so quiet over the holiday when I was bored, now I can hardly catch up!
@charley15 I assure you you are not the only one who is feeling behind on prep. I just moved across the country and into a new apartment last week. I only finally set up my registry yesterday, so I have approximately zero things ready for baby. I think I've already been through as much crappy things as possible since the beginning of November so I'm just past the point of caring that I'm not ready. As far as being ready for the energy it's going to take to keep up with him, I'm just telling myself we are going to grow and learn how to deal together.
@flowerpower5838 I think we had like the same glucose test results for the same reason. I go in for my 3-hour tomorrow, thinking good thoughts for everyone else that has to suffer through it too.
@ecwk Nope, no Braxton-hicks here either, though I'm not sure I'd know what they'd feel like if I did have them tbh.
@jstanton0822 it's one of our favorite things! We got some not too long ago and it was wayyyyy too spicy for me. That's the only weird food thing I have, things are way too spicy for me now!

Woah! I'm the complete opposite. Suddenly, I NEED more flavor. More spice. More salt. More vinegar. It's so strange. I've never salted things at the dinner table before. But now I salt nearly everything.
@red3ye hope you start feeling better soon. This GI crap sucks. It's DH's and I second wedding anniversary today and we're going to have to postpone our date because I'm still sick.
March 2016 Moms: January Siggy Challenge "Pregnancy Problems"
So my last draw is in 5 minutes, thank goodness. Except I called my doctor to double check my appointment time. And I was like "I have an appointment at 2, and I just wanted to confirm the time" and no. No it was at 9:20 apparently. So now they can't see me until the 15th. Except that if I fail my 3 hour I'm pretty sure they'll make some room.
Curse you, baby brain. Its seriously driving me nuts. Gonna go eat my feelings at panda express.
@jessko08 That stinks. Hope you're feeling better soon.
@bntfroggie Glad it was just a pulled muscle but yikes that must have been some intense cramping going on. Can you up your potassium with a banana or 8 million?
@bntfroggie relieved it was just a spasm. I had a sore calf for over a week from a bad cramp.
@skruhmin sorry about your grandpa. ((Hugs)) it's never easy and it's only worse when it happens around the holidays. You and your family will be in my prayers.
@oceanchild holy crap on a stick! How does this stuff keep happening to you? So glad you and LO are ok. Seriously, what are the odds?
@flowerpower5838 Sorry you guys are feelin so lonely. I'm sending you a pm.
If I missed anyone, I'm so sorry. Had a pretty great Christmas! Spent it with dh at my parents house with my sis and brother. I feel like a total ass. I decided to go with the funny gift for dh and put cash in a shoe box a la Jerry Seinfeld. He thought it was hilarious and got my joke. However, he was awesome and got me tickets to Blackhawks games (they're practically impossible to get a hold of unless you sell a kidney) and the new iPhone 6s. Sooooo I feel like an ass. he was even funny about the wrapping paper. He knows I have a crush on Michael B. Jordan and he cut up his gq magazine that has his picture in the cover and used that to wrap my gift. He was so thoughtful and I went and waited until the last minute to give him a gag gift.
In the waiting room for my 1 hour glucose. 25 more minutes until they can draw my blood. I don't know if I'm going crazy or not but I swear I can smell McDonald's and hear the rustling of a fast food paper bag coming from one of the small offices next to the waiting room. All I can think about is what I'm going to eat as soon as I bust out of here.
Bahaha the only other person in the waiting room has the same name as me so the nurse came out and said "Jamie" and we both stood up. Good thing they check birthdays becuase I was not the Jamie she needed.

Wow! That exact thing happened to me this last visit!!
Ugh had a poor pitiful me melt down earlier. We were getting ready to leave for dinner and I decided to see if any of my non pregnant cold weather clothes fit. That was mistake number one because they did not fit and I got frustrated about not having anything cute. So I put on a maternity shirt with a little belt. My stomach is making that fabric between my belly and boobs stretch awkwardly so I thought the belt helped make my tummy look cuter. DH came in to check on me because he knew I was getting flustered and immediately said "why are you wearing that belt like that it looks silly" okay thanks babe. So naturally I cried because that's apparently a reasonable response. Not digging how I look and I have 11 weeks to get bigger. Of course he doesn't understand that because he thinks I'm the cutest thing ever. I wish I could make my eyes see what his do.
@SarahFoley725 I did that with my favorite long sleeve shirt the other day, belt and all. I haven't tried it on in hopes it would look cute once I got bigger, and I put it on thinking it looked cute, put the belt on cause it made it match my boots, and DH walked in and was like "uh that shirt makes you look REALLY wide" right after I had been crying about feeling like a whale. Cue tears, Which made him look at me like I was insane which made me cry even more. Hang in there though! I feel you!
@SarahFoley725go buy yourself a few pretty maternity tops... You'll be surprised at how much better you feel.
Or better yet, get some Old Navy Tank Tops (they are long torso'd so they fit perfectly over pregnant belly) and splurge on some really nice open faced sweaters.
Sorry your DH said exactly the wrong thing. It's rough for sure but people only see precious and pregnant where we can't even see our feet...

My friend gave me some clothes in this box it was so funny my parents and in laws thought it was real. They were trying to be polite but you could see the WTF on their faces.

My SIL gave DH & me gifts in that box last year at Xmas! (Mailed, bc she is in DC). We usually don't do gifts for each other so we just LOL'd and didn't open it, bc I didn't really need to get the "crib dribbler" out. It was three days later when I thought to open it and realized it was just a box with real stuff inside lmao. And the entire box is hysterical. Apparently there is a whole line of funny boxes and they used different ones for everyone in the family. She thought that one was especially apropos for me bc of all the BFing support volunteer stuff I do (and she was a LLL leader).

Do you guys ever creep on Baby Center? I like to go look there because that's where all of the crazies go when we tear them apart for asking stupid questions. I found this gem earlier.
Grab a box of tissues and read this. I read it twice and cried both times. Ladies, don't forget that all the streachmarks, vericose veins, weight gain and wardrobe malfunctions are proof of how beautiful your bodies really are. Love to you all.
Perhaps she's looking for a 'real answer'. Where's a barfing emoticon when you need it?
@oceanchild I think my parents wrote the book on re-using boxes for gifts. I remember getting a tiny present in a huge tv box. My mom gave a shower gift in an ice cream maker box. It wasn't an ice cream maker.
In other news, how do you gif anymore? I put the link in the little box, but there's no way to get it to show up in the text box...
@smushi my parents too!!! One year they wrapped my "big Santa gift" in an old extension cord box and I was so confused when I opened it. And my mom has hoards of old gift bags and always gives Xmas ones at b'days and baby shower ones at Xmas and it is so funny. She even saves old cards if she can reuse them somehow (which actually saved my ass when I forgot to get a card for my friend's baby shower last month – she had an old invite from *get this* HER OWN BABY SHOWER WITH ME (!) and she just cut off the back and I used it like a postcard. My friend thought it was great, bc vintage. Haha!

@oceanchild our mothers must be kindred spirits. When my parents moved out of their house of almost 30 years, she literally had to throw away 30 years worth of Dillards bows she had saved thinking she might reuse them later. She saves bags, boxes, tissue paper (if it's too crinkled, she'll iron it - it can be done). She also does like your mom and saves Christmas cards. She cuts the cute front off and uses them as gift name tags on presents. I can't say I don't do the same because of her. I haven't bought anything but wrapping paper in years. After my baby shower, I won't ever need another baby gift bag ever.
So I went over to sneak a peek at babycenter... Some of those confessions on there are pretty awful. "Garlic girl" works with special Ed and wishes they could be sterilized!?!
Hello ladies, I have been absent over the holidays and again am very busy this week. I am sorry so many of you have had scares that brought you to the hospital but am glad you are all ok. I failed my 1 hour glucose also by 20 points and I decided not to do the 3 hour. The 1 hour makes me so nauseous and dizzy I don't feel like it was ok to do a 3 hour. They said my other option was check my sugars for 1 week and get a hemoglobin A1C and if those are ok I can stop. I chose that option. With the holidays and taking my test right after eating Christmas cookies for a week straight I feel like it's no big deal I am feeling large and in charge and will be 29 weeks tomorrow. Only having 10 weeks until my c section and absolutely nothing done for this babe is making me a bit nervous but right now with limited space and time there is nothing I can do. I will clean out my room starting next week to get the bassinet up and make room for his clothes and things in his brothers room.

Ew ew ewwww! The white crap is finally here! 1 am and I looked out the window to find the street covered and no hubby or plows yet. Thank god for 4 wheel drive! I'm really hoping it pounds through the morning and they delay/close work for the day lol. I would just mean 1 less day of sitting at work with nothing to do...
