We've had 2 people ask us if this is LOs first Christmas this week. What other Christmas would he have been to? He's 5 months old. Lol. It cracks DH and I up. The next person that asks us we're going to say no, it's not.
^^ my dad on the phone today commented on how LO's bday is 'awful close to yours' (mine). And how it was kinda a bummer that we had birthdays so close. To which I replied 'yeah, but after this year Dec 24th is going to be completely irrelevant for him. Nobody is going to celebrate his one and half, two and half birthdays. Who cares?' And he kept going on about it... Somehow he has now gotten it into his head that LO's birthday is December 24th. Which means he hasn't even been born yet
I'm considering rogaine. I looked twice at it at target today.
I'm not getting lo anything for Christmas but I kinda love the "munch mitt" idea for a gift if your looking for a teether. @mvargas12 They were on zulily a few days ago. 14.99
This relationships leap is a beast. This kid is exhausting. She won't sleep anywhere but on me during the day. She screams, cries, and whines for most of the day. Happy one minute, crying like the world is ending the next. Only 16 more days. Awesome.

I've had this happen to me several times last week! I'm sure I looked at them like they were crazy.

@mellymar I was just reading your LO's contribution to the baby stole the phone thread. My LO was also the king of cat naps. At 6 months something happened. I've been letting him cry it out for naps. He cries anywhere from 5-15 minutes but then sleeps for at least an hour, usually 2. Now that I've actually typed this, it will all go to shit tomorrow, no doubt!

Thanks for sharing... I guess I never knew the whole story! The spy thing is creepy, but I agree that it seems like it would be pretty easy for a parent to downplay that aspect and just focus on what crazy things the elf is doing. Any chance it's a trend that will fade into obscurity by time our LO's are old enough for it?? Probably not, eh? Given it's already been around 10 years - which I didn't know either... seems more recent.

tomorrow (the 20th) is my birthday and ive realized im going to be alone (with LO but it still feels lonely) my parents arent here till late tomorrow night, my sisters family is down in langley till january, i dont have any friends and im still not sure about the marriage thing so no H. im used to being alone, but alone on your birthday is just sad.
@JessHeppell happy birthday! Mine is in a few days, I know how crappy it is to have a birthday this close to Xmas (mine is actually between Xmas and nye). I've spent it alone many times actually, with my DH in the military he is usually on duty half the time. Look at it this way - since you're alone (with our LO's this year) you can do whatever you want, and there ain't a soul there to even suggest otherwise. Try not to let the fact you are alone make you lonely. Make it something that makes it great
i wanted to go to the store to buy chicken wings cause ive been wanting some lately, and maybe a birthday cake as well. im just worrried about the stroller in snow. does anyone have any experience with a not too great (bought it as a travel system) stroller in about an inch of snow?
Happy birthday @JessHeppell! Can you take LO in a carrier instead? I bundle mine in a winter suit (kinda like a snowsuit, just not meant for the snow) and a hat and put her in the Baby Bijorn. Strollers in the snow suck! She's happier and warmer if I wear her. Hope you get/got your wings and cake!
