Just put up our Charlie Brown tree. We'll buy a bigger one after Christmas but this was our first ugly apartment tree and we finally got ornaments...I'm hoping the cats leave it alone! Also, the Batman stocking belongs to DH and mine is the penguin. The one that says Baby R is obviously for the baby!
Haven't started doing my tree yet... I want new lights because we have two different types of white lights on it, and it's a pain in the ass to make that look decent... Still upset I can't have any of my ornaments from my childhood, so putting up the tree is usually a little upsetting for me... Also my OCD can't handle real trees because they aren't perfectly symmetrical, and will inevitably leave holes in it. (Omg I'm turning into my mother!)
Side note: We both decided to always buy double of whatever ornament we get our LO so our tree with always be full of those memories, and we'll start a wreath with the same ornaments on it for him to take with him when he grows up.
Got our tree today and it was almost too tall for my ceiling.. sigh - they always look so short on the farm! DS ended up having an impromptu sleepover with my inlaws and I had to promise not to do ANY decorating until he's home tomorrow. Meanwhile, my house smells AWESOME. Pine fresh.
Alright ladies - I grew up a real tree girl but have a fake tree now (darn apartment living forcing us to buy one before having a house!). Do any of you have a magic trick for making my house smell like Christmas? All of the candles/waxes I find are super fake smelling. Help!
If used to be, we had a 10ft tree beautifully decorated with gold, silver, and red in the living room, all our stocking hung on the fireplace, a 6ft tree upstairs in the huge window with all our childhood decorations for the neighbors to see, and a little 3ft tree lightly decorated in the dining room where we held the family and friends huge Christmas dinner in our gorgeous Victorian house.... Life happene. Lost the house, moved out of state into a trailer, and this year all we had room for was at little, pre-lit 32in tree. But, the kids like it, the cat won't get in it, and its crazy busy already, but there's always room for candy canes! We made due.
I finally get to add to this thread! I went to put up my tree on Sunday, found out we left all our ornaments behind when we moved, bought a bunch of new stuff over the past week, went to do it last night, and realized I didn't have any ornament hooks, so tonight EVERYTHING WENT UP! Don't mind the empty frame, one of our maternity pics will go in it after our shoot tomorrow
Re: GTKY: Show me your Christmas tree/Christmas decorations!

Now here's my naked tree.
Yep...we totally forgot that it was 4 feet tall. We looked for "the bottom half" for ten minutes before we realized it, then laughed our asses off.
Merry Christmas! Pregnancy brain strikes again!
