@SarahFoley725 did you know there's a thing called momnesia? You eventually forget about how awful pregnancy was. Until you're pregnant again, then it all comes back.

@SarahFoley725 I'm sure I'd change my tune if I was having a tough pregnancy like you! I've been very lucky. Heartburn is the only bad symptom as well as being uncomfortable in bed. Hang in there, mama!! Also: YES TO BOOZE!

Haha yesssss when I stopped being deathly ill I was like huh that went quickly it wasn't too bad. Then I slapped myself out of it. Besides we all have to plan our next kids to be in the same BMB again. That's how it works right?

@skruhmin target had some great toys on sale, I don't know what she's into but they had a super cute little grocery food set and a shopping cart for like $10 and $15? The little girls I babysat always loved the pretend food.
ETA I scheduled my hospital tour!!!!!! Saturday! Yay! This is getting real!
I need gift ideas for a 2 1/2 year old girl. $25 or less please.
My niece is 2 1/2. She loves stuffed animals, crayons, puzzles, and watching blues clues on her tablet. Most of those things are under $25... And yes, her mom was annoyed with the person who bought her the tablet.
@ecwk i always had the same UO (until now - this is *done* for us)! but i tried (and succeeded for #2 when #1 was 4m old haha. the momnesia is legit!
another UO: i don't dislike drinking the glucola at all, just the awful feeling of the sugar slam after fasting.
can't believe they closed the nice thread!!
and enjoy the prenatal massages ladies! i indulged in them my last pregnancy (and hope to again). had one during my 1hr wait for the glucose test (my doula met me at my OB's office and brought all her stuff) and i really think that could be partly why i actually passed for the first time in 4 babies haha! (she claims it is anyhow LOL)

Tea set for the win. But pretend food, crayons and art supplies, magnetic letters for the fridge, or those spongy letters that stick to the wall in the bath would be good.
@SarahFoley725 I have a friend who came back from a 6 week maternity leave only to have to tell her boss she was pregnant again.
@skruhmin - I always recommend a doll stroller. My girls love theirs so much I bought another one so I didn't have to listen to them fight over it anymore. Also second the grocery cart/play food idea.

@sarahfoley725 we toured ours and it helped me visualize things beforehand and prepare. It also showed us which entrance to use to get to the triage (because most places want to confirm you're actually in labor before they admit you). Plus we took that time to pre-register with the hospital so I wouldn't have to be fighting contractions and trying to sign things. Made me feel more at ease about everything.
FYI, for FTMs, make sure your DH brings quarters or dollars for the machines at hospital for midnight sodas. We had our LO almost straight up at midnight, and DH would have killed for some caffeine around 2am.
Don't get me wrong- I love, Love, LOVE all my babies and being a SAHM but I'm beyond ready for bed. I've washed 6 sheet sets, 5 comforters, put those 6 beds back together, clipped 50 fingernails and 50 toenails, and done the usual laundry, cleaning and feeding on top of that. It's these extra days that exhaust me to the max.

Hoping all sick LOs are better and that all babies stay put for a longer while. Question for you ladies my son gave me his cold, now I have a cough from hell I've been doing saline and vap-o-rub just wondering if any of you have done Delsyum?? It's on my safe list from my doctor but I hate taking any medicine while pregnant but I hardly slept last night and it hurts to cough. Or if you all have any better suggestions I'll take them, I'm calling my doctor in the morning but hoping to get some relief tonight. TIA

i would have never thought about this, but such a good idea!! haha. thank you for mentioning this.
I feel you @kynbar5 I am exhausted today. Trying to contain The Christmas excitement of 18 six year olds is exhausting. It is also a lost cause at this point. Not to mention that I teach special education and the constant schedule disruptions for holiday events is really throwing some of my more rigid asd kids off. Our school vacation doesn't start until Christmas Eve and it just can't get here fast enough. By the time I get home, spend time with Ds and get him to bed I can barely move from the couch. So excited for vacation to start!!
@lightrox I've taken it. I didn't find it nearly as effective as non-pregnancy cough syrup but better than nothing for sure.
I'd agree there. The best thing I have used during pregnancy has been Robitussin with the same antihistamine that is in Unisom. Although after doing some reading and research after my current scare, there has been some research recently showing a correlation between antihistamines and preterm labor, so I won't be recommending it, although my OB had agreed it was safe to use.
@kynbar5 god, i wish i had half the motivation you do!
My motivation often comes in the form of the 1 & 3 year olds nipping at my heels either cheering me on or trying to "help" that will generally make anyone move quickly and effectively but I'd be lying if I said every once in awhile I didn't just stop and let them have their fun and laugh.

@kynbar5 you are one heck of an achiever. I was proud just knowing dishes where done yesterday before bed after making some Christmas treats. I only have 1 munchkin to chase around and yet meals tend to consist of PBJ sandwhichs, toast, or cereal. Maybe your dh can let you go to bed early as a reward?

hahahaha!! yeah, i could see how they would be good little motivators. i couldn't imagine having to look after young children while being pregnant. you (& every other pregnant woman with small children) definitely deserve Superwoman capes.
OB also told me robitussin DM was fine, and I would have taken it if we had had any, but I never ended up making it out for some. Hope you get some relief from the cough @lightrox. I'm still going thru a million undies a day with this lingering cough.

The word lingering made me think of the fact that my friends bridal shower is a lingerie shower. That seems so awkward to me....like her mom and aunts will be there.

@red3ye lol I can't hold my eyes open past 10 on a good night so it would take a lot more than my husband to keep me up past 9 tonight. I'm thinking nothing short of a marching band in my bedroom could do the trick haha

like.. you have to buy lingerie for her? or..
I guess so. It has her sizes on the invitation. I can think of about 10000 things I'd rather due at 32 weeks than watch my friend open a bunch of bras and panties in an awkward setting

that seems lame af. i can think of 10,000 things I'd rather have than a bunch of lingerie. a couple nice sets would be awesome, but my SO doesnt even pay attention to that stuff.. & i certainly wouldn't wanna be receiving a bunch of sexy things with my mom sitting right there.
