Monday bitchfest

How has this not been posted yet?!

Bitch it out ladies!

I'm basically just pissed at my heartburn. The super potatoe oles from taco johns were worth it though

  • @NLewis1 OMG! You have a Taco John's?!?!?! We used to have one here, but it closed down a few years ago and now the closest one is around 500 miles away! I'm incredibly jealous right now.

  • Yes. Yes I do :) I live in Wyoming, the "home spot" for taco johns. They are everywhere here!

  • I took my mom to my last appointment where surprisingly the tech took a guess at the sex but I told her to write it down since DH couldn't be there so we could find out her guess together.

Apparently while she was typing on the screen, my mom looked. So she knew before we did and to top it off, my sister said she's telling everyone how sweet it was that we wanted her to know before we did. WHAT?

I'm still pretty livid but I've been sucking it up to avoid a fight. I mentioned to her the other day I didn't know how we were gonna tell my MIL since she lives in another state and we're gonna tell everyone here on Christmas (after its confirmed). So I said maybe I'd send her flowers or something in pink or blue. Then my mom had the gall to say, "Oh, and what? I just get nothing?" I'm so frustrated and tired of biting my tongue, but when we fight, it's ugly and I don't want to put that kind of stress on my body, so I'm just trying to keep my distance. I almost hope the tech was wrong just so she really didn't get to know first. Mature, I know.

  • @ahernandez16 I'm sorry!!  That really sucks!  You are right you definitely don't need the added stress.  I hope the situation will settle down soon.

  • I'm super pissed about our new neighbors OBSESSION with his motorcycles. I was trying to lay my DS down yesterday for nap and for over an hr all I could hear was him revving that damn thing up!!! My DS was BEGGING to go ride the motorcycle the entire time that I FINALLY went and had a word with them. Completely bitchiness on my behalf, but I honestly could care less. I swear it sounded like the tail pipes where backed up to his window!

When our new neighbors first moved in next door the guy had a freaking sweet mustang with a Rouch package on it. And it never failed he would start it up and rev the engine every time I would lay my son down for a nap. Thankfully he sold it!

  • Crazy thing is, they have a 5 month old son. I told the mom... Just wait until he turns two and is BEGGINA for excuses to get out of nap time. As a baby, my son always slept through those sorts of things. Now, no way!

  • @ahernandez16 that is so not cool! Kudos to you for holding your tongue, if my mom pulled something like that she would get an earful from me. She got to go to the u/s and see everything herself, that is her present, flowers to tell her the sex mean nothing since she already knows.....hope this isn't the start of a trend...
  • Bare with me for my novel of a rant, lol.
I'm so sick of my craptastic phone, IDK if I have it in me to actually wait until xmas before I get my new one. It has no memory now (too many pictures), but DH's laptop I'm using (bc My laptop crapped out on me a week ago with all my pics since DD was born 5yrs ago on it :(  ) doesn't recognize that my phones plugged in so I can't get them off my phone. DH's computer also doesn't have bluetooth (what computer doesn't have bluetooth??!?!?!?) So, the only way I will be able to deal with this is to email a few at a time (there's about 500) OR fire up DH's ancient laptop (which takes forever to turn on) and try to upload them onto that one.

On top of all of this, i'm trying to work (I work from home) and the two oldest are complaining that Mickey mouse clubhouse is just a regular one and not a Christmas one and they can only watch Christmas shows in December I guess (which is totally understandable, just not when I am dealing with all this b.s. )
Oh and of course they're hungry because the sandwiches, toast (because I was having toast and who doesn't need toast when they smell it?) and apple they had a mere 10mins ago was not enough for these raging beasts who will eat me out of house and home!

Whew that felt good to get out :) Carry on!

Something to try, are you using the cable that the phone came with to plug the phone into the computer. I know DH had a bit of a temper tantrum (for lack of a better word) when his phone wouldn't connect to the computer, turns out you had to connect it with the manufacturer cable the first time for some reason. After that it worked with any cable but the initial driver install required they specific cable.

Best of luck with that and the crazy ravenous children!

I wish :( Unfortunately this phone is too old for my memory to remember where the original cable is.... It's just  a back up phone really as I left my new lovely phone on a shelf in a store a few mths ago( for less than 5 mins , didn't even leave the store yet, just went down another aisle) and someone inside the store stole it and didn't return it. (Oh and I had one of those lovely, yet stupid phone cases that you can keep your drivers license and bank/credit cards in so I lost everything all at once :( )
I gave them a string cheese and some pretzels, lets see how long it lasts, lol.

  • Waited an hour in my Dr waiting room for my less than 5 minutes appointment this morning, was stuck in traffic in the rain, whiny kids at daycare drop off and nausea has reared it's ugly head again this afternoon. I'd like to start over and take Monday off!!!
  • @Sgoldberg247 that's exactly what I told her. She would've found out on Christmas in some way fun like everyone else, but she ruined that for herself.

It's more of a continuation of a trend, unfortunately, ha. When I bitched to some family yesterday about it they said they would've been surprised if she WOULDN'T have done that. She also refers to the baby as "our baby" on social media... so ya know. There was even a time when I thought of donating my eggs and she freaked out because she said they were a part of her, to give you some perspective. She's something else. There's going to have to be some boundaries put down, I just don't have the energy right now.
  • @bio-oesch any chance you could buy an SD card for the phone to transfer your photos onto? Or transfer them directly to like an external hard drive? My MacBook crashed a few months back and luckily I was able to get all of my photos onto the external before it did, I'm not sure if that's possible for a phone, but maybe. I'm not too tech savvy. Best of luck!
  • In my office I can get maybe one radio station (we are in a metal building and have no reception at all) - If I hear Hello by Adele one more time today I think Im going to just scream. I like Adele but the same song over and over.

I'm just waiting for my MIL to do the "our baby" thing. She has been pretty good so far, she hasn't told anyone our news although she has made a few comments about how hard it is that she hasn't even been able to tell her best friend because we haven't told my family yet (we're waiting to tell them in person when we see them next week). Hopefully she keeps it under control but I can see her being just like your mom...best of luck with the boundaries, we're figuring out how to set them ourselves and it isn't easy, especially when DH doesn't want to say anything to upset his family.
  • So, I told my OB to stick it where the sun don't shine today after she cleared me as low risk at my consult but then told me I couldn't have a homebirth because, "It might snow." REALLY!? IN JUNE!? I had to simmer down a bit before discontinuing services...I'm not into scare tactics.
  • The amount of overly-offended, butthurt people in this world is freaking ridiculous. I just saw this article posted by Buzzfeed and I am eye-rolling so hard. People seriously have nothing better to do with their time than to find something to be offended about.

Cliff notes: Starbucks had some polar bear themed cookies that they were selling - they were discontinued back in 2010. People thought the red scarf on the polar bear resembled "throat slashing". It's a freaking polar bear cookie. For fuck's sake people. Get a life.
I saw that yesterday. It looked like a scarf until someone pointed it out. Seriously people, getting upset about a cookie that wasn't iced perfectly is a bit much....there are plenty of real world things to actually be upset about but instead people choose to be upset at Starbucks cookies.....this is why the rest of the world laughs at us.
  • My own complaint today, DH has to work late all week. He's working late today because of a project proposal. Tomorrow he's staying late to make up the time from our NT scan in the morning, Wednesday he's staying late for a networking event, Thursday to prep for some presentation and Friday for a meeting because he offered to revamp a training course that he took a few months ago. I love his work ethic and appreciate that he's doing all that he can to get a raise or promotion to help finance this baby but at the same time I would like to see him sometime before 8:30 pm.

Oh......idiots. I saw something about this on Facebook the other day. Scrolled by fast because I thought for SURE it was an article from The Onion. If I try to properly roll my eyeballs in proportion to this level of nonsensical asshattery, I will pull an eye muscle. Nope.
  • I had the worst morning. I dropped DS off at MIL's like always and we got in a fight and she started crying... Over something ridiculous and completely unfair to DS. This made DS start crying and wouldn't kiss me goodbye so I had to just give him the best hug I could and leave him like that with her being a drama queen.
Then, I got to work and dropped my entire lunch all over the school parking lot. Had to scramble to pick up all my crap off the floor while parents tried to line up in the car rider line. Of course they were serving corn dogs in the lunchroom. Yuck.

  • A new neighborhood was just built right behind mine, and I have a clear view of the closest 2 houses to me. One is occupied, one isn't yet. The lady that lives in the occupied home, I'll call Sally, and I've met. Well. I just noticed Sally traipse around the new, unoccupied house peeking in the doors and windows...for the umpteenth time. Seriously lady, do you have nothing better to do than snoop on your new neighbor's house? Who the hell does that?!

Reason #47 why I keep my damn curtains closed at night. Nosey neighbors. Ugh.
  • @bio-oesch you need a Dropbox account. I put all my pictures up there then clear them off my phone. Since the app is on your phone you can still access all the pictures easily. You can also access from the regular Dropbox website. DH and I put up a lot of info on there. Makes life so much easier.

Gurrlllllll, do you have it too?! Not that I want other people to have it but it blows. Half my family has it but they're all older. Also did you know it makes pregnancy more risky and can make it hard to get pregnant. Wtf. The only positive side is I had so many medical issues that couldn't be explained and now they all make sense. I literally thought I was going to die since highschool because there was always something but I finally have an answer and a way to fix it

Yep, diagnosed a few years ago. I've never had problems with craving gluten-y foods until I got pregnant and then I want all the gluten all the time. It's crazy all the weird symptoms the CD can cause but I'm glad you got the diagnosis and can do something to treat the symptoms, even if it means not having all the gluten-y deliciousness to eat.
  • I hardly ever post, but I need to vent before I leave my room after laying down to wait out a wave of nausea. DH and I both work full-time, but tonight I have the pleasure of cooking dinner, cleaning the kitchen from said dinner, giving one child a bath, the other a shower(you know, half the curtain open while I get soaked), and trying not to vomit since my MS gets worse in the evening.
DH plans to watch tv all night because all his favorite shows are on.
Thanks for reading, I suppose I should get up now.

That's what these threads are for! I would angry rant at him so bad and tell him to man up. Ugh, just because you're the woman doesn't mean all the house responsibilities fall to you. Any time DH starts to try that nonsense I tell him hey, if you want that then I'll stay home and be a housewife while you make all the money. Otherwise pitch in.

Anyways glad to see new faces around here, welcome and feel free to join in on the ranting party whenever you feel the need to!

Hahaha I saw this, it's hilarious! Especially since people really think that's what it is. ::facepalm::
  • My provider had 2 locations. One is maybe 10 minutes farther from us and I know that I can drive 30 minutes and be out within an hour. Or I can drive 20 minutes and be out in at least an hour up to 3! My mom is upset because the girl who scheduled my next appointment scheduled it at the office farther away, which I prefer. She says "we told her we prefer the other". No WE did not! YOU did! YOU ARENT CARRYING A BABY! ugh! Plus, she doesn't want to know gender unless we know but any appointments she attends she listens for the "he" or "she" and jumps on it. Did I mention this is grandchild #6, not my first child either? She is about to drive me crazy!
  • My complaint is that I pee an entire TBSP if I sneeze while my bladder is full. And I'm sneezing a lot because I'm off my allergy meds. It's so gross. Last pregnancy, I would pee maybe a drop of two in the same circumstances. My first two babies, nothing could make me pee myself. I thinks body is rebelling. So glad this one is the last for me!

I think I mentioned it in your other thread but I have it too.  There are some good gluten-free breads out there.  Have you looked for them at all?  I found that toasting the bread (in a dedicated toaster for gluten-free bread only or toasting it in a clean pan) helps the bread maintain its form (gluten free bread is a little crumbly).

Very true. I found Udis bread for a relatively cheap price (for GF food) at Costco. I didn't try it until months after going GF so I could be wrong but I swear it tastes just like regular bread, a bit dry but regular bread.

Yup, I agree.  Udis is honestly not bad.  Another good one escapes me right now....but Whole Foods has a lot of options if you are near one of their stores.  Aldi's makes a gluten-free bread too that is actually pretty tasty (I'd stay away from their gluten free mac'n'cheese though...it tasted terrible).

I did not like EnerG or Schar brand products...they taste terrible to me.  I always get mad at Schar and their buns too sometimes for hot dogs...they end up falling apart.  :(

Another one...Against the Grain makes a really decent gluten-free frozen pizza and Glutino's products (their crackers and cake mixes) and generally great too.
