  • I am not a pet person. I thought I was. When DH and I got married he got me a puppy for our first Christmas together. We love our dog. We really do. She's a good dog and we spoil her rotten. But someday when she goes to doggy heaven we won't be getting any more pets ever. I just don't feel that special bond with animals that pet owners should feel for their fur babies. Again, we love our dog and she's treated like royalty. I'm just not a pet person.
  • I have a serious McDonalds addiction. I probably have something from there at least 5 times a week! I'm surprised that my bloodwork did not come back with the results of "McDonald's Grease". (Before getting pregnant with DD, I probably hadn't had it in almost 5 years... The addiction has only gotten worse with this pregnancy).
  • @SgtLou2 I never ate mcdonalds before I was pregnant (except for the very rare hangover)... Lately, it's my "feel better food" lol

@TalulaPants I second both of these!! Especially the holiday spirit! I ugly cried to the SO yesterday because I was sooooo over decorating the tree and I just wanted all of it to be done and finished. It was really quite pathetic.
  • @natsfans84 we probably listen to the same radio station... I find myself singing along during my long commute and then I get mad at myself halfway through the song when I realize who is singing it. Every. Single. Time.
  • Justin Beiber's songs are dumb but so damn catchy. I think I like them :(
I heard a Bieber song for the first time yesterday... *lives under a rock* I was like "Oh THIS is what Bieber sounds like?" hahaha
  • @brushesnbrunch - I went to a shower last weekend hoping it wasn't going to be the shitshow I knew it was going to be, my hopes were dashed. I was invited via facebook, we were then asked a week before to bring a dish, the MTB was actually the hostess, and the gifts for games were presents to give back to the MTB.

@ohbaby714 - I don't take mine like I should because they give me horrible heartburn. I have to take zantac for the heartburn, but it has to be 2 hours before or after the vitamin. I also have to take iron and vitamin c which can't be taken with my prenatal, it has to be 2 hours before or after both the prenatal and zantac. I need to set timers.

  • I have been so incredibly lazy about Christmas shopping this year. I have bought a basket at Michael's and a candle at Bath and Body Works, absolutely everything else has been online. I am fairly sure that I am single-handedly keeping the postal service in business.

  • I threw up so hard last night that I actually wondered if I was going to die. Granted it was really intense- I popped blood vessels all over my face and it made my teeth hurt, but I'm embarrassed that the thought even crossed my mind!

  • I had a really good, really thought out confession for today and I forgot it. I swear I don't remember my own name most days! Ugh! Pregnancy brain will be the death of me!

At least you know that you aren't going to be good with future and pets and aren't going to keep trying and giving them something mediocre. (I really hope this isn't offensive sounding because I really mean this in the "this is awesome of you to know ahead of time" way.)

No it's not offensive at all. Both DH and I agreed we want to make sure our dog has the best life a coonhound can possibly have but we aren't down for any more pets ever lol. DD can get a puppy or kitty when she's grown and is paying for her own carpets lol
  • I leave cartoons on the tv all day. My kids are 2 & 4 and they rarely pay attention, they mostly play but sometimes they take a break and watch it. Gives me a minute to do some housework......not that I've been doing any the past few weeks....
  • I find myself half-assing at work lately and to be honest, I don't care.. I just am so tired these days and don't have the energy to deal with people like i used to. Seriously counting down the days till maternity leave!

  • I thought about climbing into bed with the 2 year old and giving him the tablet and taking a nap while he played his game for a half hour while I slept next to him buy he's being very clingy so I know he wouldn't leave me alone.

OMG I would have had the same thoughts!  So sorry you are still getting so sick.  That's just terrible :(

Hold up @drillsargeantcat. I need a better explanation for this. The prizes for games... were gifts.. that the hostess gave you... that you had to give back to the MTB...who was the hostess...?

Also I know you aren't supposed to take your iron and vit c. with prenatals, but after a few weeks of forgetting, I said screw it and started taking them all at once, right before I brush my teeth. It's been fine, my iron levels are normal. So yeah. It was take them together or not at all.

  • A bunch of people who are coming to my shower tomorrow obviously got confused and sent gifts off my registry directly to me (instead of to themselves so they could bring to the shower).  I was going to bring all the gifts with me, but some aren't wrapped and some are big, and mostly I just don't want to lug them to my shower and reopen them in front of everyone for an hour.  So I'm just printing off a list and will acknowledge each gift and gift-giver after I've opened any presents that are actually there.  I'm super relieved - the whole gift-opening process should take all of 20 minutes now!

  • I write "to-do" lists and fill it mostly with things I've already done, so that when people come over (it's on a white board in my living room) they think I'm doing way more than I am and they don't find out how lazy I've been.
YES! I do this! And actually I read an article that said that studies show that people who write things on their to do list that they've already done, just to be able to check it off, are actually more intelligent and productive. :)

You got it! I won, so I picked a gift, opened it, and it was those mesh spoon things. I looked kind of confused for a second so I looked up at the person who was "hostess" and she kind of nodded that I was to give it to the MTB. IDK who brought the gifts so it might have been the "hostess." I keep putting that in quotes because she was supposed to host, but she didn't greet guests, help with games, track gifts, or any of the other traditional tasks a hostess does. The MTB did all that.

  • So my job got bought out by a new company in a different state and the big bosses are coming to town next week and they want to take us all out for drinks and appetizers after work. 1. I do not care for this new company. 2. I get off at 5, but the office doesn't close til 6, so we wouldn't even be going until then. 3. I am freaking 32 weeks pregnant, my feet are swollen by the end of the day, and I honestly just want to go home when the clock strikes 5. AND I don't feel like watching everyone else drink when I haven't been able to for the past 8 months. Geez, I'm grouchy today lol. Any ideas on how to get out of this?
  • Confession: I add shredded cheese to my Kraft mac and cheese when I eat it for lunch.
Isn't that what you're supposed to do?
Haha I don't know, it feels a little excessive. But excessively delicious. ;)

  • Oh another confession since it's Christmas cookie baking season. I don't like those chocolate no bake cookies. I don't understand why they're so popular. The texture is weird. The flavor is meh. I just don't like them.

  • Confession: I add shredded cheese to my Kraft mac and cheese when I eat it for lunch.

why have I never thought to do this?! I'm from Wisconsin and it never crossed my mind. My coworkers thought I was crazy for putting cheese on my sloppy joes!

@acuteangles the same thing is happening to me. I knew I wanted to recognize them and thank them for their gift but wasn't quite sure how to go about it, I think how you are going about it is appropriate and nice, thank you.

  • @DrillSergeantCat I just take my prenatal when I get up and myahedium

@mcklough I threw up all day yesterday and could only keep down water. My doc sent me to L&D this morning and luckily baby is good I just have a noro virus that's going around. Good news I not puking bad news I have TERRIBLE acid reflux now

    FFFC
Im super glad my parents came to visit this weekend because a) I'm sick so they can help with DD b) I can get some sleep c) I can make christmas cookies and my mom cleans the dishes d) I'm hoping my mom finishes the laundry I started

Hahaha I do this!!! Or I'll have a list, do something that wasn't on the list, and then write it down and cross it off... Makes it look like I did something productive while home all day
  • @AdventureMama and @DrillSergeantCat I've noticed this at a couple showers I've been to this year. The "prize" is pacifiers or teething rings and it's implied you give them back. Shitty prize if you ask me!!! My boss told me to buy whatever prizes I wanted (that was the only involvement she would let me have) : eos lip balms and fuzzy socks were my pick.

@Achae cheese on sloppy joes is perfection.
  • @AdventureMama and now I feel less bad about glorifying my finished chores!!
