My recovery has been goin very well.

That being said, I'm 8 days PP and started cramping (like period) today.

    Is this normal?

I imagine it is. Your uterus is still shrinking back down to size so it would make sense if you feel cramping

Enough with the bleeding already!! I am so over it and the stupid pads!

Lucky to have had a quick labor with no tearing just some mild grazes downstairs - So physically bounced back really well. Still trying to get the hang of latching bubba on 5 days PP. Lots of patience and persistence! So hard when all bubba wants to do is SLEEP! x

Can my bagina quit bleeding now or nah?

Seconded. I had a c section, I didn't think my lady parts would be bleeding as much as they are. And pads are gross.
Amen to all of this. I will grant that at this point I'm not having much bleeding anymore, but still. I wouldn't mind it if tampons were okay, but I just feel so gross sitting in blood. Every day I find myself thinking "maybe today I won't have anymore bleeding!" It's always a letdown.

I'm glad I hopped on here. I'm only 3 days PP but already so so bummed about this pain. I had to get a small cut and while I'm sure my midwife did a great job it's the one thing I'm being a wuss about.

I cried a little last night to my mom and husband. I kind of feel like a half-ass mom since I can't run around as much and going to the bathroom takes sooooo long.

On a happy note the Peas ice pack from CVS is a godsend.

From someone with a toddler and newborn, and having to recover from a c-section I hear you but don't worry, there will be PLENTY of time to run around. Enjoy the excuse to take it easy while you can.

I was having more and more painful burning when I peed, so yesterday I went to the doctor and was diagnosed with a UTI. I'm so glad I'm getting treatment for it now. It was getting horribly painful. Having a catheter put in briefly (like you do when you have an epidural) puts you at an increased risk for a UTI, so learn from my mistake momma and go in right away if you have the symptoms. I wish I would have gone in days earlier...

They've been filling a NB diaper with ice for me and I use that. It feels amazing.
I will take this pain any day over my last CS. But today I woke up to new muscles I didn't even know we're sore. My arms from playing tug of war with a sheet while pushing and my legs from getting into all kinds of positions are so sore today.
Take it easy while you can. And take some meds, no reason to feel the pain! Keep yourself comfortable.

So frustrated with recovery. I don't know what's "normal", which is more frustrating because it makes an 'end in sight' unclear. I can deal with not sleeping and sore boobs, but whatever is going on down there needs to fix itself.

I was cut, and have a 3rd degree. Hemorrhoids for the first time. I don't know how you ladies with other LOs to look after do it...

I feel like it's more sore past couple days. Sitting all the time probably doesn't help, but it's the best way he eats right now... And sleeps.

I'm terrified of wiping after going number 2, so it takes forever because last thing I want is an infection.

    Tmi alert!!

I'm 2 weeks pp and my bleeding was getting so much better. Brown and light. Suddenly my bagina HURTS and I'm having a lot of clots and heavy bleeding. Is it normal for it to get better than worse like that?

Did you over do it today? It's common for bleeding to increase with your activity. But clots 2 weeks later seems odd.
    I would call your doctor.

I'm 4 days PP and my recovery has been going great. My bleeding is minimal and I'm not in much pain unless I over do it. OB said I had an internal labial tear which she says is the best one you can get. I was really scared how painful the recovery was going to be, so I'm happy that it's been an easy road for me.

Use the peri bottle! When I go #2 I mix a little mild soap (I use an organic fragrance free face soap) and warm water and clean that way. I only use TP to pat dry. Much less painful. :)

Agree! Use the peri bottle and then some witch hazel pads afterwards.
The first few times I used baby wipes too, it was more comfortable than toilet paper.

Mine did that with DD1 and DD2. I would say it's normal and probably was caused by a change in activity.

Do the hemorrhoids ever stop coming back out? Please tell me they do. :(

They are the worst part of my recovery thus far... They freak me out! I've heard you can gently try to push them back in though.. I dunno if I'll try that myself.

I've used the preparation H gel and it feels so much better after a few minutes but just when I had almost forgotten about them they flared back! I'm 4weeks PP so I'm wondering if this will be the norm now or I'm just being impatient.

3weeks pp, bleeding almost stopped just light orangish dischargey-ness...now the bleeding is back light a light period...I don't think I've been pushing myself very hard...contemplating calling my midwife?

ETA i just saw the top of the page...I don't have any clots. Perhaps I just need to rest more...I need sleep...

@snlyon0614 - I go through spurts of random bright bleeding too (4 weeks PP on Friday)... It seems to just be one of those annoying things where you think you're almost done with the bagina bleeding then "gotcha!!"

    4 weeks??? Bless you.
They'll feel better, and then out of nowhere I'm walking like I got off a horse.

I'm feeling good enough for walks for the most part now though so I'm pumped about that!

@snlyon0614 my health nurse told me that I would go through two stages. It would lighten up and basically disappear and then it would come back almost like a regular period. As long as there's no weird gushes and clots and you're not soaking a pad front to back in two hours then there should be nothing to worry about

@taykerslake thanks for this!! I wasn't given that info but glad to know it, seems im traveling along the correct road to recovery:)

Do they ever go away?! I swear my hemoroid is worse than my 3rd degree episiotomy. After delivery I was literally crying it felt like someone lit my ass on fire. The pain is slowly getting better but I can still feel it when I wipe and I don't have the guts to try to push them back in

Sorry I'm so late in the post and this is really long, recovery has been 1000x more difficult this time than it was the first time. Total AW but the first night home after having DD2 someone tried to drive through my bedroom wall all because there anonymous friend dared them to. They drove through the fence and missed the house thanks to my bf running out after them. Car vs man not a pretty sight.
I had a RCS, so at my 2 week checkup I told my dr that my incision had been oozing green, his responce was he didn't see it oozing and it was healing nice so he wasn't worried about anything. Well 3 days later it was super sore and red and I had a slight fever so we went to the hospital (7pm office was closed) the nurse that took me back had said it was infected and was going to put me in for a cat scan to see if he could find anything. The dr came in told him to forget it said there was no infection that it was a reaction to the inner stitches gave me antibiotics prescription and told me to go home. The next day I had a fever of 102.2 that continued to go up so we went to a different hospital, they did the cat scan and found an abscess from one end of the incision all the way to the other. So they called down an OB specialist, keeping me in the ER instead of taking me to the OR, she had to use regular numbing shots (might as well have just cut me open without it because that's what it felt like) and cut about 3 inches at one end to squeeze out all the puss then they packed it with gauze (pushed gauze in the "tunnel" to keep it from getting infected again) and kept me for 3 nights 4 days on iv antibiotics. That was 4 days away from both my kids, and as if a regular c-section wasn't enough i have a home nurse who comes to check the incision and repack it but today she is hoping to discharge me!! (Finally some good news, now to be able to take a shower instead of a sponge bath would be great!).
I finally get home for 2 days then we have to admit the baby in the hospital for 2 nights because she only continued to lose weight! She is still struggling with formula and we are seeing a GI specialist but so far all he has done is make it worse for her so we are trying to find someone else to see her, even tho her weight is finally up! Out of all this crappy events, they found a heart mermer and had an echo done to check for a hole in her heart (all the weight loss, stomach problems, etc) we finally got a call this morning saying there is no hole and everything looks great and she should outgrow the mermer.

I would say since nov.10th the total time we have been home without any hospital stays is 2.5 weeks give or take a few days, and she is 5 weeks.
I hope everyone else is having a much better recovery time and if your not I feel for you and really hope it gets better!!

Geeze momma! I'm glad you all are doing better, and your lo heart is good. :)
But damn, that is quite a lot of chaos and stress.. That's so incredibly (and dangerously) frustrating how doctors can be so blind sometimes, and it's good you all went with your gut.
Hope the rest of recovery goes smoother here on out :)

Do you consume it or apply it to the hemorrhoids? Might try it out today, the usual treatments aren't helping much!

You apply it to the area. Consuming it won't hurt either though
