@TattoosandLace Thanks for responding! I live in Pennsylvania and desperately want to see my baby! The nurse said, "gone are the days when we can order scans whenever we want." Oh well! Happy Sunday!
That's interesting that you're in PA. I have a friend who lives there and she had multiple ultrasounds during her pregnancy. It was a very normal pregnancy as well. It probably also depends if you're going to an OB or midwife, etc.
@natalievs1 - Where in PA? I'm in Philadelphia. My OB wasn't going to do an ultrasound until around 20 weeks originally. Last week, though, I went in with some spotting and cramping, so she ordered one for this Tuesday, when I'll be 7 weeks. From what I understood, early ultrasounds aren't necessary any more unless there's fear of an issue.
It's a hard wait. Although, the longer I wait for my first appointment, the more okay I am with being Team Green. Hubs really wanted to with DD and we waited until 8 months to find out.
My first isn't until 12 weeks...that will be the 22nd of Decemeber. It's so scary to think that I could go all this way and be told that there is no heart beat. I'm going to be so nervous
My doc said not until 21 weeks! I don't know how I'm going to make it until then. She hasn't even gotten the Doppler out to find the heartbeat- not until 12 weeks she said. Ugh the wait is terrible! I really hope all is well in there because if not, I won't know until forever! I'm 9 weeks today and counting down until my next appointment where hopefully we hear the heartbeat.
@elldel I'm from Scranton! As much as I desperately want a scan, I'm feeling great so I'm trying not to mind the wait! Good luck on Tuesday! So exciting!
I'm a FTM and my US is on Wednesday. I'll be 9w5d at that point. I feel like I have been waiting so, SO long. I am very nervous because I don't know what to expect.

Once you hear the heartbeat you'll be so excited! I also have to wait until well into the second trimester but hearing the heartbeat (I heard mine at 10 wks +1) really put my mind at ease. Hang in there!
July BMB Siggy Challenge: Weird Hot Dog Situations
I have to wait till December 22nd, and only get on then because of testing, if not I wouldn't be getting one until 20 weeks. I do get a heartbeat scan tomorrow though at 10 weeks 4 days. This wait has been incredibly stressful.
Mine isn't until Dec 29! We tried to listen to the heartbeat with a Doppler today and no luck! Currently 9w2d which he confirmed with pelvic exam. Dr said you usually can't hear with a Doppler until 10 weeks. My next appointment is Dec 29 and he said it will definitely include an ultrasound. I'll be 12w2d by then. @natalievs1 maybe not until 12 weeks? However, I'm only scheduled to see my dr every 4 weeks and will most likely only get 2 ultrasounds during my entire pregnancy unless there are problems.
My first appt with my MW is in a week and a half. But my MW group doesn't do them until the anatomy one at 18-20 wks but I think we are opting to have an extra one done at 12 wks. Twins run in the family and we'd like to know sooner than later if that's the case!
