So last night I was SO excited for Christmas Vacation on ABC Family. When I realized it wasn't on until 9:00 I tried to force myself to stay up and watch it. Yeah, that didn't happen. Asleep on the couch by 8:00. I was so mad. But I think it's on again tonight at an earlier time. It's happening.
@denny+lee I love The Melting Pot! But I will share my experience. 3 weeks before my wedding I got horrible food poisoning there. I am really worried about raw meats so I timed everything with my cell phone timer and left them in a bit longer. I think what happened was someone else has put in a raw piece of meat after I put mine in and it bumped it when removing mine (this is the only thing I can figure). I haven't eaten the meat there since. But I do go for cheese and chocolate! Just be real careful because I was LAID OUT for 3 days from it and not pregnant!
First night in toddler bed was a success. Only went in the room once to sing a song after 10 minutes, but I did tell her I would check on her so she must have been waiting. So proud of her today!
@ahernandez16 - I was looking into volunteering at a shelter and DH told me I couldn't because we don't have enough space for all of the dogs I would bring home. So I started looking for a house with a bigger yard... turns out, you need money for those things. Looks like we'll be at 2 pups for a while.
@Kballew10 haha! My husband was sending me pictures of dogs people were just giving away on Craigslist and I was like, "noooo stop." He's just as bad as me.
I couldn't volunteer at a shelter either and thank god I'm highly allergic to cats.
I was bugging DH to let me adopt another dog for months. The only thing that has put a pause on it is getting pregnant. We have no worries about our current dog with this baby because he's so laid back but I'm terrified to risk bringing another dog into the house right now and ruin his awesome behavior (he's a beagle who doesnt know how to howl, barely barks, has only destroyed a toy if he's chewing on it to get the food inside it, doesn't dig and doesn't counter/table surf. I take no credit, he came to us like this so I wouldn't know how to train him back to it if I wanted to).
I love the random thread and how it covered so much in ebbs and flows. Am I the only one who thinks 'weekly' and 'random' are at odds? Not saying anything against another random post, although the current one was still strong, just pondering if regularity is the way to go? I loved that it wasn't one of the regularly scheduled programs.

My last BMB had a huge random thread and I LOVED it. Then a bunch of people were too overwhelmed by it or something to post so they started daily randoms. I agree it was weird. I never really got into it. But whatever people like, I'll participate in. No biggie.

I just figured that a week-long thread would get more communication flow vs. one forever-running thread with 1000+ comments. Whatever people want to do. Doesn't bother me either way.

I'm glad you started a new one. I think you'll be apt to get more participation if people don't have to wade through hundreds of comments.
June 2016 April Siggy Challenge: Reasons my kid is crying
I stopped looking at the other random thread because there were so many posts. I'm in favor of a weekly one. My thoughts are the same as the check in...if you don't like it, don't click it but that's just me
H and I are going through some tough times right now. We'll be fine but it's gotten worse than ever before in our marriage. We're going out tonight and what was supposed to be a date night has turned into a serious relationship talk over dinner night. I'm not looking forward to it - but I am SO EXCITED to eat out that I almost don't mind. I am salivating already. I haven't had a dinner out that wasn't some crap kid-friendly chain restaurant in AGES. Woo! and Boo! for both dinner and the fighting.
My department at work is getting an intern in June. I wasn't planning on telling work about the pregnancy until January, but apparently this intern is supposed to work for me for the 10 weeks that I won't be here, so I'm going to have to tell my boss this week so that he can plan appropriately for this kid's time (we are making him an offer before Xmas). I feel slightly bad, but not really. I am mostly just dreading telling him. I'm almost expecting an "are you coming back after or will you stay home?" comment... the joys of working with ALL men.

Yeah, I wouldn't feel bad either--you can hardly plan your pregnancy around factors and internship offers beyond your control. If you do get that question, perhaps a side eye and an "....assumptions, much?" Or "Would you ask that question to a male subordinate?" would get the point across (Joking, that would be tough to say to a boss, depending on the rapport.)
I keep telling myself to go to bed early. I get all snuggled up in bed under the covers by 8 and think "I'll just browse the internet for 10 minutes" then its 10:30 every freaking night. Why do I do this to myself?
Hiring and firing and so over it. I need to fire my assistant at my daycare. I've been interviewing for a replacement first. Ugh ugh and ugh. Also dreading firing my assistant even though she deserves it for being very unreliable, always late and not coming if there is any snow out (hello we have snow six months a year). I hate confrontation though.
Also my Dad is such a jerk. Jerk jerk jerk. That is all.
@crdo - Oh I have plenty of sassy responses, but I'd like to keep my job after my leave ends... so it'll have to be something more polite. Rest assured, if he makes a comment, you all will hear about it after when I vent! The intern thing just came up a week ago, so I definitely didn't plan around it.
Had our NT scan today and it went great. Decided to go to lunch, and DH found a gift card to Twin Peaks. (Think Tilted Kilt or Hooter's.). We keep it classy here

Anybody else occasionally feel like your ute is like super tight? I know there's rlp and cramping but this is neither of those. If I had to compare it to anything I would say it's like BH, but it's way too early to be feeling that. Its not painful at all just weird. Also am pretty sure I felt baby mooooove today! It was not like gas and happened several times in a row, very distinct. Maybe I'm crazy but I could swear.

How far along are you? Hoping its human baby and not gas baby
AFM: my kids are currently taking baths and I'm soooo jealous. I may take one tonight. I'm 14+5 and d.o.n.e with feeling craptastic.
I like the weekly thing. My super ancient phone has trouble keeping up when there's a million new posts.
A coworker came to me today, touched my belly and said, "it doesn't just look like fat today!"
Um..
WTF? I wouldn't even know how to respond to that
I have two randoms for today-
1- Rob Lowe is absolutely terrible at playing the voice of Simba. He sounds like a creeper and I want to punch him in the throat every time he talks.
2- I got both kids a brand new pair of Vans and only paid $10 for each of them! Hells yeah for clearance
@nicolesmith0624 lol I could be wrong. It was just very different from usual muscle twitches/gas. I'm 13+3 and a STM so I have heard you can feel them earlier but maybe it was just a weird muscle spasm
I don't mind either format of the Randoms. Since it is random I just jump in so I'm happy to go with whatever. Oh my god @Sgoldberg247 I was the same. Only for getting pregnant I was SO tempted to adopt a dog. I feel like our Westie needs some doggie company but H talked sense in to me and luckily because now we have the baby on the way. @CourtJack good luck with the talk tonight. Pregnancy can bring a lot of stress on a relationship so good you are dealing with it. @NicknShan forget that... Don't EVER Google Skanky Hoe checking spelling.... EVER!! I made the mistake and it was graphic!

Thanks for reading!!
