11/30 PGAL Check-In

Re: 11/30 PGAL Check-In

  • @megstervt I'm in the same boat as you. Lots of excess CM. I've lurked a lot on the subject and it seems to be pretty normal due to our estrogen levels. Super annoying though because the occasional wet feeling down there makes me think I'm bleeding and I run to the bathroom and wipe and its CM. ugh!

  • @BostonBaby1 Congrats!! That's amazing, so happy for you!!
  • Wonderful news, congrats! @didi0308
  • @BostonBaby1 I'm so happy for you! What great results for you!

@didi0308 Glad you have good results today as well!

So after another (ugh!) round of bleeding the midwife finally did a very gentle physical exam and have determined I have a "friable cervix" so she said it may resolve or if not then I can expect to have bleeding throughout the pregnancy. So that won't be anxiety inducing at all! (Sarcasm)
  • Yay for good news - very exciting @BostonBaby and @didi0308 and anyone else i might have forgotten
That's annoying and definitely anxiety provoking @silvers626 though I guess it's good to know what could be the (normal) cause of the bleeding - we'll be there to support you when you need it!

  • @didi0308 Yay for a great scan! I also heard the heartbeat for the first time today. It's the sweetest music.

@silvers626 GAH!!! I guess the good news is is that you know why you're bleeding. But that will be difficult.
  • @BostonBaby1 Congrats on all the good news!! Being further along AND having a great US!!

@silvers626 Oh man, that's definitely no fun. Ugh!!! I guess it's nice to know the reason behind it though!! Maybe something like that will grant you many extra scans!! :)
  • Yay! Love all the good news!!

  • Omg I need a rant.

Because of how my last pregnancy ended I need to go through maternal fetal medicine. To do that, I need a referral from my gp. First up gp didn't send the referral. Called 2 days later and he finally sent it. He sent the wrong one. Mfm faxed the right referral for him to fill out. The gp never received it. Mfm faxed it again. Still didn't receive it. I call again and now my gp isn't in. I ask if another doctor can fill it out. Only if they get this form that mfm have faxed at least twice. I get them to refax it. Now they reckon it is classified as a new referral so I have to go in. I get a call back saying that they can fill it out but only by my original dr. I packed it and now they are trying to find another dr to fill it out but 'they aren't obliged to so don't get my hopes up'.

This has been going on for 6 days. I'm tossing up whether I said just go in and wait to make sure it gets done. Agghhh.

Little boy due July 31st 2016

  • @LilLambie Ugh. If it were me, I would go first to be MFM and pick up the form, then I would head straight to the doctors office and stand there until they fill it out. Then I would bring it back over to the MFM. Sometimes when you need things done right, you need to do it yourself. Nevertheless, I'm really sorry that you're going through this!

@jlgriff11 I cannot tell you how glad I am to read that! I'm hoping that will be all will find a point in the pregnancy where we can start to relax. I'm incredibly happy for you that you can see the finish line of the first trimester. 10 weeks is amazing!
  • That is great @jlgriff11!! Just a few more weeks!!

I was up for a bit in the night with some aching on the left side of my pelvic bone. I lurked the subject and it seems to be normal and related to your growing uterus but I certainly didn't like it...... Every twinge I feel down there gets me nervous for a minute.
  • @tennisbabymama I've had aching in my left side since ovulation!  I posted about it last week sometime and it came back again last night.  I was just about to head to the ER or call the after hours OB line when it went away.  I hate it.

  • Yesterday I went in for my ultrasound post miscarriage. And I didn't think it was that difficult to date the pregnancy after the loss...anyway instead of being 6 weeks 2 days I am a little less than that. During the appointment, I wasn't able to see the heartbeat but the technician did say that there is a sac and fetal pole and everything is moving in a positive direction.

I will see my OB this coming week and I hope that I will be able to announce at Christmas our exciting news. I am on pins and needles for the next week or so..why can't time go by faster?
  • Hi ladies. I've been sick with a bug all week, hopefully on the upswing.

Had another ultrasound today (10w1d) and baby is doing well, heart rate 177. Getting bloodwork done for Materniti21 and then anxiously waiting for the next 1.5 weeks to pass so I can get through my loss point.

I have been thinking of all of you. Hope you all have great weekends.
  • @jlgriff11 I am about to get to that milestone tomorrow... Can't believe it! Very happy for you that this day is inspiring hope :) We'll see how I feel tomorrow!

Feeling super down today for some reason.  Just can't imagine going through another loss.  My u/s in about a week, but don't know why I am that excited....had a perfect u/s at 7w before and that didn't change anything when I lost that baby at 9w.  I am getting sick of these "statistics charts" because you know what I WAS that 3% so that gives me no comfort.  Also the saying "your pregnant today" has also been pissing me off.  I was unknowingly NOT pregnant for 3 weeks....found out at 12w that I was actually NOT pregnant for some time.  Sorry you all had to be on the end of this....anyone feeling some of the same?  I just can't imagine having two missed miscarriages....I can't imagine feeling all of those feelings again, all the tears, the heartache, the confusion.  Then trying to pick up the pieces and go on with life....just not sure I am strong enough.

You're not alone. I hate the darn charts. Plus, it's just generalized, it doesn't apply to my chances BUT... I understand why people like them. It's scary enough never having been through it and of course you have nerves having a mmc. Are you able to do anything special to pamper yourself? I find acupuncture to be helpful but I also like massage, yoga. I'm sorry you're having a rough time. (((Hugs)))
  • @mrsmommya I feel you girl. The roller coaster is intense and it's hard not to get stuck in the valleys. I had my 12wk U/S scheduled for 12/23 and I moved it to 12/21 so if it ended up being a mmc like my very first then I could have a few days to process before Christmas. It's hard not to almost plan for a m/c when that's all I know, but also to be hopeful and excited all the time. I'm trying to allow myself to be encouraged by others even while preparing (just a little) for the possibility of losing..again. You're not alone, we're in your boat and rooting for you all the way.

  • @mrsmommya absolutely it makes complete sense... i have my next ultrasound on 12/23 - good call rescheduling that winnie1122 ;) - and i'm just terrified that i'll learn then that I've been happy(ish) for no good reason... each time i conclude that i have to act as though things are probably ok, because there's nothing else I can do... but yeah feeling frustrated/angry/terrified makes complete sense... thanks for validating that for me :)

  • My next ultrasound is also on Dec. 23.  FX for you all until those Dec. 21-23 dates roll around.

I seem to be on the upswing from the MS which is great but still a little nerve wracking but I know this is around the time when the placenta starts to take over.  On the plus side, I was able to find baby's HB with the doppler last night so that was comforting.  Now if only I could get a good night's sleep.... what I wouldn't do for a couple glasses of wine.....

Wishing you all a great weekend!
  • That's awesome @silvers626! How far along are you? I've thought of getting a doppler and then don't because I probably would get obsessive about checking for a HB.

  • Mmm I had a really strong sudden pinching feeling around my cervix area this morning. It felt like something was pushing against it. It went away after 5 minutes or so, but it was scary. After some googling (what else can it do, it didn't seem urgent enough to call the emergency line) it seems like it's most likely growing pains. And no other symptoms. Never a dull moment!!
  • Designing our Christmas cards for this year. Sure would LOVE to be able to use a photo of our most recent ultrasound on the card, but thanks to the two previous m/c's, I'm nothing more than cautiously optimistic. I'd hate to throw that out and have something happen in the interim. Maybe I'll be brave enough to include a separate photo for close friends and family right before we get ready to send them. At that point, I should be at the 12 week mark. That's cause to celebrate right?! :)
  • @winnie1122 I am 9+3. I promised myself that I wouldn't let the Doppler rule my life. I only use it about once a week for a few minutes, plus they don't suggest you use it with too much frequency. I have also been okay the first few times I have not been able to find it because I know I'm not a doctor or an expert so I haven't let it get to me. I really like mine but I definitely would be cautious if you think it would only cause you greater anxiety.

@Serpica I feel you - I get a lot of cervical pain and cramping. My midwife says it's normal and just to drink more water.
  • @Serpica the Cervix area it's the only place I had cramp so far, doctor said lots of things happening down there. Like PP said lots of water help!

  • My MS has calmed down a bit and the fatigue is also getting better. Still dealing with tender breasts and constipation has hit. Just trying to take it day by day and trust my body. At this point I'm absolutely terrified of a mmc, not sure I'll get over that though.

  • Started having the cramping on my left side again, so broke down and called the doctor. First of all, the doctor was so great, it must take the patience of a saint to work at an OB office and deal with crazy pregnant ladies like me. She thinks the cramping is normal, especially because I've had no spotting. Apparently my uterus and bowels are "cranky" probably due to dehydration. She said even being slightly dehydrated can cause more intense symptoms and given my constipation she wasn't worried at all. If the pain gets worse or I start to bleed I need to call back, but she sounded very confident it was totally normal. Trying to stay busy and focus on increasing my fluids since I'm having a good day MS wise. Cranky uterus...who knew LOL

  • @megstervt I was having really bad pain in my left side. Having Crohn's disease I'm pretty familiar with colon pain so I knew it was mostly related to my intestine. Called my GI nurse and she recommended starting Metamucil pills. It was more painful the first 2 days and now it's gone. Metamucil is safe in pregnancy and makes you drink more water too, so maybe that could help you

  • Sounds like most of us could be drinking more water. Hopefully everybody will feel better by later on today!
  • @Serpica, I had that pinching/pressure in my cervix for about 24 hours a week ago and thankfully it hasn't been back since. I had an u/s 2 days later and everything was fine. I'm 6 weeks today and ever since I got my super-high hcg results and u/s (even though just gest sac + yolk sac), I've been feeling hopeful about this pregnancy. I'm sure I'll be nervous for the next few u/s and the MaterniT21 test, but I hope this optimism sticks around. My primary concern at the moment is my unrelenting nausea. I swore I'd be thankful for the nausea this time, but it's so awful!!!

  • Started bleeding a little while ago. Doctor doesn't think it's ectopic based on my symptoms right now, so I need to wait until morning to call the office. She said they'll likely do blood work or an ultrasound. She didn't think a trip to the ER was needed at this time. Part of me still wants to go just to have answers, but I'm trying to listen and just wait until morning. This really sucks.
