Re: TTTC Checkin - 11/30/2015

  • @MorganL925 haha thanks! I'll let you know how it goes. I still have no idea why he's doing a "blood flow" u/s or even one this early. ...not that I'm complaining about seeing what's going on so early. I'm hoping it helps calm me a little. Plus, I'm thinking that should be able to tell me that max amount we're having! Eeeeeeek I'm so excited and nervous at the same time!

  • @MorganL925 yes there are certainly days when I feel like it is never going to happen. I feel like my emotions are a roller coaster ride. I am filled with hope each time I start a new cycle of clomid. Then there's the 2ww which is horrible in an of itself. and then there's the crushing agony of a BFN only to be followed by the feeling that I am wasting time until the next cycle. For me, I wish I had a crystal ball that said I would definitely have a kid or I would definitely not have a kid that way I could get on with my life one way or the other!
DX PCOS + mild male factor

Past Treatment: Clomid + Metformin x 3 BFN
Letrozole 5 mg + Trigger shot + IUI = BFP!

    Hi all,

I am actually one of the husbands (crazy right?!) of one of the posters on this board. She can expose me as her spouse if she cares to do so, but I will leave it up to her!

This is my first post, I have lurked for awhile. But I think it is time to just say a few words on a couple different pages.

    Two things:

    1) I admire you all for your dedication, strength, perseverance through adversity and passion in this process. (Naturally, I especially admire the strength of my beautiful wife, who has tried so hard to stay positive throughout the past many months!) I speak for all of your DH's that may not say it enough, that deep down we know how hard it is, and wish we could make things easy, or better, or less stressful. Men (most of them) don't vocalize these things, but I wanted to say something as I read many of your stories and know how much you mean to your men!

    2) As much as your DH may not show it, they see your struggles, and see it as you both struggling together. They feel the pressures to some extent too, and it isn't easy. They want you happy, they want to be happy with you as a team, and things don't always go according to plan. So, my advice: don't be afraid to give them a hug and a kiss for no reason at all, just to tell them you love them! It goes a very long way, I promise!

All the best to you all,

    Brian
  • @riveridgional I don't even know you but ahhhh making me tear up at work lol what a sweet picture. Glad everything is going great and can't wait to see how many little babes you got in there next week!

  • So I am feeling a little better...   had a big discussion with DH about IVF.  I am going to call the RE tomorrow, to ask about what we should do since DH's count is still so extremely low.  There is a clinic that will work with us as a military family for a reduced price, but it is 5 hours away.  My sister said she would come stay with my mom during the time DH and I would have to stay up there, so that is a good thing.  Plans help me feel better.  I would just like to go into one 2ww with a good chance...  we have never had that before!

@MorganL925 I have been TTC for over 5 years...  at this point I really honestly do think I never will get PG.  Yet I keep trying, because the alternative is even more depressing.  So yea, I know that feeling well.

  • @riveridgional Congrats!!! Awesome news!

I've been mia for a few weeks. Between the final push of nursing school and getting sick is been a long few weeks. I'm happy to announce that I completed my last nursing school test today. I came home and looked around like what do I do next. I'm in shock it's over.
So I'm on cd33 with nothing but bfn. I have no idea if or when I ovulated. Now it's just a wait and see for af to arrive. I will start back clomid next cycle.
  • MorganL925 We only did timed intercourse. Because of our PCT results, my RE said that my chances of pregnancy wouldn't really increase by doing IUI (the increase in success is less than the standard deviation). Since we are out of pocket, we decided to trust him and proceed with TI only. This helped us save the $525 oop IUI fee each round. We figured we could put that money to IVF if needed.

Also, I saw your post above about feeling like you would never get pregnant. I definitely felt that way in the past and felt it the most this last time around, which turned out successful. I was convinced my job was preventing me from getting pregnant because I don't handle stress well and being an attorney is, well, highly stressful. Work was insane and then I was stressing about being stressed. I had at least 3 or 4 breakdowns during this past 2ww alone. The only reason I put off taking my HPT for "so long" was because I was absolutely convinced it would be negative, and I didn't want to ruin my holiday, time with family, and time off work with a negative test. I started trying to convince myself that maybe I didn't need a child to be happy, and I started planning all the things I was going to do during my 4 month wait before we could start IVF (co-worker's maternity leave would have caused the delay). I even started questioning whether I wanted to continue and even attempt IVF of if I just wanted this last round to be the last attempt at getting pregnant. Shocked at my result was an understatement. I just wanted to let you know that we've all been there, but there is hope. I believe you'll get your BFP!

  • @riveridgional congratulations on your scan! That sounds so weird standing up while getting one haha. I assure many more weird things come with pregnancy so get ready. I am also an attorney and it's stressful for sure! I don't know about you but for me it's hard because I am a planner and a perfectionist and when I didn't get my pregnancy at the time I planned it was really really hard for me. Still is, I have learned to let go a lot during the whole process.

@bdh122 thank you for your kind words. Infertility definitely puts a lot of pressure on our marriage and even though my husband has told me all those things himself it's very pleasant to hear others feel the same way. I will make sure to have him read your post, I'm sure it will make him feel good. @erica0901 you have a really great husband!

  • @riveridgional thanks for the good thoughts!

I just decided to log in to DH's LabCorp and was pleasantly surprised to see his latest SA results were ready. When I opened it, few of the regular (IMPORTANT!!) things are there, like morphology, motility, even the freaking actual concentration number. Instead there's volume and stuff like bacteria, debris (none seen) and then sperm concentration <5.0 Low. That's not helpful at all. They didn't even include the actual count. Is it zero? 4.9?? I'm beyond frustrated and near tears. We're meeting with his urologist in a week to review and was hoping to have a clearer path outlined then. I thought maybe the order was wrong but I compared it to the others and they're all 'Semen Analysis, Basic' so why this time would they not include everything?? I called the urologist's nurse to have her call LabCorp. I'm really hoping they have the other info but for some reason it didn't make the report and they can send it. DH gets very little time off and doesn't have flex time so that he can just leave work to do a SA. It makes it harder that all the places around us where he can do a SA the latest appointment is 3pm Monday-Friday, so he has to take at least an hour off work to get there.

I'm crazy though, right? If it's not in this report there's no way they looked at/measured the other things, right? I'm sooooooooooo disappointed and frustrated. Also, knowing his count is low still, after the clomid, isn't helping. I was feeling hopeful that my 2WW would end on a happy note. I'm more interested to see his motility and morphology counts. Ughh I cannot express how mad I am.

I had a similar experience with my lab.  If LabCorp is anything like it, your doctor can make them "hold" certain details on the report until it's reviewed by him or her.   It doesn't seem right to me that we can't see everything when it's our own body... even if we might not understand it fully.

  • @GoldenKeys thanks so much for sharing. I so hope that's what it is. Although the other random stuff hasn't been on any of his other reports...but it was just posted/generated today (test was last Friday) so maybe that's it. I doubt they've sent it to his dr yet. I at least hope they have all the info on file somewhere and can provide it if they did, in fact, screw up the report. I hate that he may have to do it again.

  • @MorganL925 I don't have advice just wanted to say that sounds very frustrating and I'm sorry!

So I have been thinking a lot about the trigger and progesterone I've taken. Since the trigger is the pregnancy hormone and the progesterone also is a part of pregnancy hormones, this means in the tww I literally feel very pregnant. I've been pregnant before and I can recognize. This is a cruel cruel thing to feel if it turns out I am not. And off course my most significant symptom is bloat, and that makes me look pregnant too! It's 6dpo and I am over this wait already!

So i got the bfn this morning at 11dpo but really feel AF coming. So I may not even get to test 12dpo if it comes tonight.
  • No AF today but another bfn this morning. Getting bummed but want AF to come now to start a new cycle.
