Okay ladies, I need some opinions here. I have the option at this hospital to either deliver with an OB or a certified nurse midwife. What are the pros/cons?!
In the same boat as @bntfroggie - now that we are past the "gotta do it right now and every other day for the next X days" for the last year+ we are definitely doing it quite a bit less mostly because I am not just giving it away as easily lol. I expect a little more romance again!
and to give my 2 cents, we're lucky if we do it once a week. Honestly its too much work, i would rather just ummm... help myself lol
Hahhaa my husband made a comment about this exact thing the other day. Like, I know you want it and are more sensitive these days but ugh, I'm tired and it's so much work! Lol I got a good laugh out of that one! I'd be lying if I said there hasn't been a time or two when it's been initiated but we both feel asleep before it actually happened.

Have you met with both? I'd say talk to each and see which one you like better.

@2goofykids I've only ever delivered with CNMs and they're amazing - sorry I can't give you the perspective of the other. They have just as much knowledge as an OB, so you can take comfort in that. From what I've heard, they spend way more time with you while you're in labor, which is awesome. I love the personal touch of CNMs. I'm available for any specific questions.

I sucked it up for DH the other night but ended up getting winded and crying
Definitely definitely had to read this more than once! I think I missed the "up"..... Couldn't agree with ye more about having all of the sex when TTC and not so much anymore! I'm ok with it though, I pretty much look exactly like that cat!
Unfortunately I'm not able to meet with both, just do my research. They're both women, and the hospital they deliver at is wonderful. I'm just wondering if I should go with the OB since I may need a c-section with the baby being so big.

Are you positive the baby is big enough to require a c-section? The sizing scans are notoriously off. I've been told to look forward to a c-section and while he was my biggest he was only 9lbs 6ozs so I was still able to deliver vaginally.

@2goofykids CNMs will also be able to do CSections, and they know when to make the call that one is needed - they absolutely will not risk the baby/mom. They will work with the OB on call, so there really isn't risk there. CNMs work to have lower intervention if that helps you at all - it's their goal to let the body labor and deliver like it was meant to.

Omg y'all are cracking me uppppp. We were VERY lucky and got pregnant on our first cycle. DH is like well I didn't expect it to be that easy so I'm taking advantage of the little time I have left boo hoo hoo. I guess he was looking forward to months of glorious unprotected sex. Sorry man. Part of me loves that he adores my pregnant body but the other part of me wants to carry around a fly swatter to smack him with.
@2goofykids i absolutely agree with @skruhmin. i wish we had CNMs here! i'd definitely choose a midwife over an OB if i had the option. my OB is great, and the reason i transferred care with my last baby from my old cut-happy OB (who somehow had an abnormally high amount of babies who were "too large" to birth vaginally). my current OB has been described as offering the same quality care as a midwife, and i can attest that he does. but if he were not here, i would be seeking a midwife willing to risk the legalities of delivering my baby here, or driving to one of our neighboring states (prob staying with my parents in GA for the last month-ish of pregnancy) to deliver with a midwife. some MWs may not be as good as others - some OBs are great; i love mine. but none of the other OBs here are great. so i'd want a mw if i didn't have this particular doctor. if a MW was an option here, i wouldn't have even sought this doctor out though.

This is how I feel when I read the "Are you showing yet?" thread. Side question, anyone else feel like socks are evil? Like it's an Olympic even to put socks on right now. Being ginormous pregnant during the summer time had few perks - like flip flops.
Seriously?! It would just be a "cute baby bump" at 35-37 weeks?! Lmao!!! I'm almost 24 weeks and passed the "cute baby bump" weeks ago! And just to be clear, yes, while subsequent pregnancies show sooner, even with my 1st I definitely had more than a "cute baby bump" even by 18 weeks. So, this is how I feel seeing that thread-

@skruhmin socks?! Please. Try putting on full maternity compression hose. Talk about wrestling yourself. I seriously get SUPER winded, sweaty and usually pissed off by the time I'm done. I've been known to take them off halfway through, put my pajamas on, plop down on the couch and tell my husband I didn't want to go anyways. Smh lol.

Y'all have me worried about kid 2+. I was showing with this one by 14 weeks and I feel pretty big for first-time mom. Lots of my friends have tiny little bumps. I don't hate it yet though. A lady that works with my dad made a comment yesterday that she thinks I'm doing really well and I'm all belly and it's super cute which made me feel good.
I'm exhausted. I'm throwing jammies on and calling it a night- at 630 pm. I got to play babysitter at work all afternoon, to come home and find dh had gone to work ON HIS DAY OFF- AGAIN, Dd had fallen asleep in my bed, dishes not done, couch cover thrown off, and no dinner (I sound selfish at that one lol). I wake my child up to find she never did her homework- because my husband was supposed to make her when she got home but he wasn't here to do so. In the last 2 hours I've done dishes, fixed my couch, cooked pizza FROM SCRATCH, and while dh was supposed to help her with her homework, he played "dumb" so I had to help her with that too.
I need to start taking it easier, but can't when I have to come home to that crap! I'm beat.
February Siggy Challenge- Post pregnancy indulgences
Squeezed into my favorite sweater for undoubtedly the last time this winter. Sad day. My boss was so excited to see me wear it. He was worried I'd had to retire it already but I figured I'd give it one last go around.
Haha back to our "sex talk"...I'm texting my mom because now my dog's nose is scabbing and rubbing raw. She asked me if i had neosporin and when i texted her back neosporin auto corrected to *news porn*.
February Siggy Challenge- Post pregnancy indulgences
Its 33 degrees here and I had to work outside today. I was warned to dress in layers. I'm glad I wore all the layers because I was still cold! OMG, winter is going to SUCK! Imagine this... Pregnant lady has on jeans, T-shirt, zip up hoodie, and shoes. Proceeds to put on suspender style snow pants (there's no f-ing way those will ever get zipped up!) Then on goes the winter coat, a headband, and both hoods. By the time I got to the gloves, I seriously had to sit down and rest! Then all day, squatting down, standing up, and just moving around in general was a freaking CHORE! OMG, I'm never going to make it!
Oh dear lord, I can't beat DH off with a wooden spoon. The man is the world's biggest horn ball. And I pretty much agree to give in once a week to keep him happy (during pregnancy). Funniest thing is, I carry all in the front, so I never look pregnant from the back. So from behind, he can kind of forget I'm pregnant sometimes lol
@2goofykids I agree with everything everyone else has said, and also wanted to add that if you have even the slightest inclination to give it a go med - free then go with the cnm. Not to make a sweeping generalization, but CNMs are generally more knowledgeable about alternative methods of pain relief.

Hahahha. Now seriously though, what exactly would "news porn" be like?!
Also @smushi I carry the same except that my butt gets even bigger than it already is (and not to generalize lol) but my husband does happen to be black so I think that's his favorite part of my pregnancies lmao.
