  • Oh man the Monday blues are sooooo real today. I only have 15 days left of working though, I can't believe it. My LO apparently was so excited to see me that he has been awake since midnight! Today should be interesting....

  • Just now getting caught back up on this thread from the long weekend. Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!

I just read the "Is anyone else not showing" thread.....all I can say is, I wish....lol. I am a FTM and I was hoping I would be like my mother who didn't really show at all until the week she went into labor.....NOPE....24 weeks along and I am as big as some people that are 36+ weeks along......

January siggy challenge - Pregnant lady problems

  • I've been feeling really overwhelmed lately getting ready for this baby. I have so much child experience and I've been so confident about my parenting until the last few days. I started thinking about finding a pediatrician and figuring out what diapers won't break out my kid and if a formula brand will make them sick. I'm so upset thinking I'm going to just bomb this terribly. Like, I know how to care for babies, but how do I care for MY baby. Ugh I do not like this feeling.

Italian Job is one of those movies you can watch over and over again and never get tired of. For us, it's our sound system tester. Just got a new receiver so of course we had to try it out. Amazing!
One of my favorites! I have a deep seeded love for Jason Statham, Mos Def, and Seth Green...so that movie is my happy place. :)

Hugs hon.  It is extremely overwhelming.  But take it a day at a time.  If it helps at all, make a checklist of things you KNOW you will need to do.  Like interviewing pediatricians - come with a standard list of your needs in a doctor and make sure the pediatrician meets those needs.  If they don't, move on.  If formula makes your kid sick, then pick a new brand.  Your pediatrician will be a great advocate in helping you find the perfect formula.  If you need help with a formula brand and reasons it works, just ask this board.  You are not alone in any way.  Those of us who have been there are a mountain of knowledge and we want to help you into mommyhood.  It's scary to think about being 100% responsible for another human being.  But something tells me that you aren't one of those psychos you hear about on the news who absolutely needs a license to parent.  I promise you will make it.  There will be lots of tears on your end - that I can guarantee.  And you will feel like you are going insane at times.  But again, take it one day at a time.  And know that in the end you have this wonderful little human that you created and grew and the first time you look into your baby's eyes, you will know everything is going to be ok.

Awww, @skruhmin....you're making me teary-eyed! I totally agree with everything said here, @SarayFoley725. It's totally overwhelming, but you have a group here who will never let you be alone or wonder if what you're doing is right. Our pediatrician was an amazing resource for us, and I'm sure yours will be, too. I didn't have nearly the experience with children that you do (and to be honest, other peoples kids still make me uncomfortable because I don't know how to communicate with them, we're really sarcastic with our son and talk to him like a grown up...I never know if that's "cool" with other kids) and we figured it out...in time. You'll be great, I know it.

  • @2goofykids I completely understand.  We had to live with my in-laws for 6 months this past year.  It does feel like you are going backward.  But it was a blessing for us.  I got so much help with my boys.  And I think our relationship with my in-laws is stronger because of living with them.  Just go in there with patience, breathe (a lot), accept the help, and go to your happy place a lot ;)

  • I feel you @2goofykids. Different circumstances, but also an unexpected move, and definitely feeling like I'm moving backwards instead of forwards. I'm just trying to remember that what I'm doing is going to be better for my little one, and take it one day at a time. I wouldn't wish these struggles on anyone else, but at the same time it's nice to know that I'm not alone in trying to adapt to dramatically different circumstances at this point in my pregnancy. Hang in there. I promise it could be worse.
  • Hang in there, @2goofykids, I know there will be some frustrations with moving in with the in-laws, but try to focus on the good.

We're shopping and waiting on the stupid target online line! Lol

  • Sooooo are there good Target deals then?
  • Sooooo are there good Target deals then?
There are some good deals, but I've noticed there are "lines" for most of them. AKA, you have to keep the page open and wait and see if someone gets rid of whatever you want from their cart I am assuming?  I'm trying to do some shopping for my nieces and nephews and I'm having a hard time finding something worth buying that is in stock, so that's a bummer. In addition to the "deals" most everything is an additional 15% off with the code CYBER15

I swear I've popped overnight again.  The scales say I've put on 10 pounds in a week, I am constipated again, and my tummy feels stretched to the MAX. My pants I'm wearing today are starting to feel tight- they were a pair of my "fat" pants that I had but when I lost all my weight, I kept them for those "I feel bloated" days ( I still have to wear them hiked up to my my belly button to keep them up). They are my last pair of non-maternity pants that I can still wear. Looks like I will have to get 1-2 more pair of stretch pants :(

  • Wow. You weren't kidding. It is slow in here today! Is everyone online shopping or what?

I haven't found any deals I have to have today. Although I'm 95% done with my shopping after Black Friday. Now to get those last few gifts and then not let myself buy anything else between now and Christmas. Haha.

  • I think I'm going to do my annual Christmas ornament gift on Shutterfly - that's our "big" family gift to our extended families - an ornament of our boys, and then one of our family for us. It's just fun for the boys to look back on when we do ornaments every year the day after Thanksgiving.

  • @2goofykids; sorry to hear you're struggling with a lot right now, hope things turn out better or going to feel better in a while...hugs

@SarahFoley725; we went away this weekend with 24 adults and 17 kids, 12 of them were younger then 4. I shared one of the holiday houses with my friends with a 5 week old. I really couldn't image having such a tiny sweet (okay he also woke all of us up in the middle of the night..;) boy of myself. Sometimes i even have to tell myself i'm really really having a child of my own. It's so amazing!
  • Random PSA for those expecting and those needing a shower gift...Aden and anais swaddles at gap baby are 40% off with code BESTCYBER so it's 4 for $30
