Has anyone heard of or tried the "nub" theory? It's for an ultrasound 12-14 weeks and it has to do with the angle of he baby's nub and determining whether it's a boy or girl. 30 degree angle or more of nub from baby's spine = boy and parallel to spine= girl. We are not finding out what we are having with this pregnancy so I enjoy trying these different gender predictions. Here is the pic of our lil one. Not quite sure if what I think is the "nub" really is but as of now I'm thinking girl. Post nub pics. What does everyone think?

Re: The nub theory
50/50, OP.
https://www.baby2see.com/gender/external_genitals.html
It's 50/50, whether it's male or female. These things are typically fun to do with your friends and family, not so much with random people on the internet that you've never met or even really talked to. You've posted on this board exactly once before, to share the same image on the US thread asking what we thought the sex was. Give support to get support, its a two way street.
Also, you've posted a profile shot with no nub whatsoever. Just wait the extra 6-8 weeks for the anatomy scan if you actually want to know, or wait until birth if that's what you want to do. On every other part of the bump, these go down really poorly (take a swing over by 1st/2nd trimester of you don't believe me). I'm actually really confused why this has gone down so relatively well thus far. Of course, you're always free to post what you want, just giving a heads up that the responses you (general you) get might not be quite what you were anticipating.
Of course you can do your gender predictions for fun, that's up to you. However, just know that due to the fact that prediction theories are just that--guesses--others may not buy into it. It's a public forum, and anyone is free to post and respond as they choose.
But it gets annoying when people post pics and ask ...there's other forums for that. Like Ingender. But I wouldn't automatically debunk this one, it's the only one that can actually work. But I agree, this isn't the forum for it. There are more appropriate places on the Internet for it.
Edited to add a link to a page that explains more & cites numerous scientific studies of the accuracy at 12 weeks.

If you are trained and know what to look for with accuracy (plenty of OB's practice this) it is in fact possible to determine fetal sex at 12-14 weeks. It is not 50/50. The problem is all of the people who post pictures trying to figure it out with incorrect information on what to look for, photos that do not show, or those who try to guess at 11 weeks when it's too early.
Like I said before, this isn't the forum to be asking questions like this. However, show me your information that debunks this because it has been proven to be a very reliable method. (Versus Ramzi, skull, etc which are all not reliable).
Like my tech said to me when I was pregnant with my son, don't go buying boy clothes, but I'm pretty sure. Because she knew the anatomy and what she was looking at.
The problem with this method is that it's often hard to get a clear view of the nub, and even if you do the baby has to be totally straight. It's not the easiest method so I think this is why it's not popular. My OB friends have admitted that it is very difficult to see the sex this way because it depends on baby being in the right position, but that they do try to look when they do ultrasounds as early as 12 weeks. Maybe German doctors are more into this than Americans, but my friends treat it as a valid thing and I trust their opinion.
I know what you mean about not wanting to find out, but still wanting to have some fun guessing. I didn't find out with my second baby, but still spend a lot of time thinking about it and guessing.

No one said OP couldn't post, no one said she needed permission, no one said anything about being right or wrong. OP said she was the one being hormonal and sensitive.
@hockeyfan42 @mdargie
I do not appreciate your bullying comment. Not sure what there is to "agree to disagree" about. Good luck to you with your pregnancy.
A. This is the first time you've seen someone make a joke
B. That you think anything in this thread could be construed to be trolling or bullying. FWIW on most boards here, posting an ultrasound pic and asking what we think the sex might be is flamed wayyy more than this post. Get a blood test or wait until your anatomy scan.
Yeah I guess we can agree to disagree

Especially if you're a FTM just trying to get support from others. @Atlast111 I agree that it comes across as mocking when it's a complete stranger over the internet. Just don't click the thread!
