  • @noelietrex if you're doing it with good form & it's not causing pain/injury I would go for it.

I'm not good at scaling back though so probably not the best person to comment. DH was pissed that I was still doing more reps in WODs than he was before my "rest" requirement.

Man I really want to get back at it. It's going to be so hard. It will be 2 weeks on Monday :(

Just do whatever feels right for you and God forbid anything were to go wrong you wouldn't use to blame yourself!

@Taymiller I have several friends who have done CrossFit until the day they went in to labor. Like any other exercise if you were doing it before you can continue to do it & you have to be mindful and not let your ego get in the way of making good choices for you & your developing baby.

Haha! Yeah I'm going to try not to surpass any previous PRs again, but I personally think being ultra fit while pregnant has way more benefits than risks. I expect judgement, but I don't consider lifting a few extra pounds more risky than drinking caffeine or eating processed junk food. Everyone gets to choose their own risks and let the judgement fall where it may.

So far I think the best thing about being pregnant is that DH has to clean our cat's litterbox for the next 9ish months! Win for me!

OMG yes! This is the best!
  • Oh also, I worry that my kid(s) will be like some of my [least favorite] students. Dear God please no!!!!

H refused to clean the litter box. It has always been my job. My risk for catching toxoplasmosis from my cats is very low as they are strictly indoors. I still wear gloves etc when I clean their box ( and try not to vomit).

My FFFC, I love One Direction. Like, way too much. I may have pre-ordered their new album as soon as I could. I have had it on repeat since I got it. They are the only "pop band" I like and I really couldn't tell you why I love them so much.

  • I still buy CDs... pre-ordered Adele and so excited to get home and check my mailbox. LOL! I'm only 31.
  • I haven't eaten healthy at all since BFP. At first I couldn't handle the thought of most food. Then I went on vacation. Maybe it'll happen now, though I doubt it.

I told DH I would do the litter if we tested the cats for toxoplasmosis. He said no, he is too cheap. I guess it is his own fault.

Side story: when I worked at the OB office a patient called in and said her husband told her she had to get rid of her cat because it would kill her unborn child, she wanted to know if it was true or not. I guess he wasn't a fan of the cat!

I had myself tested when I started TTC to see if I had antibodies. I used to work in a veterinary clinic so I was terrified of contracting it when cleaning kennels etc. I came up negative. I know that my cats have no chance of contracting it so I am all good.
I tried to use it as an excuse to H to do the cleaning but he wasn't having any of it. :P

  • Just because you know that DH and I have been trying to get pregnant, or that we're pregnant now isn't a license for you to show me 5,000 pictures and videos of your own child/ren expecting me to swoon and laugh at every little thing you think is hilarious. (your 2 year old said octopus...cool??) I realize that's not really a confession- more of a rant... maybe my confession is I'm not a huge fan of other peoples children!! I know I'll love my own and probably become that person that shoves their I phone in people's faces expecting them to think my kid is the greatest thing in the world, but I sure as hell hope not- at least not to excess.

Maybe you don't know it yet but everyone thinks their children are wonderful and we want everyone else to know how wonderful they are.  Do you want people saying the same thing about you?

I never post anything like 'hey use the one at the top of the page' i just let it all stay inside. I'm happy that they're excited and we're all excited! I just wish we could all keep it together in one place like we're supposed to with symptoms and things. What I really dont like is when the titles are basically 'click bait' looking for responses. I know it's an irrational frustration so i would only ever say it here on the FFFC.

  • My husband is cleaning the litter box, but he doesn't do it frequently enough so my sweet snuggly-poo kitty has to use a dirty box.  I'm probably gonna break down and get some gloves and mask and keep doing it.

Also---I'm pretty sure my indoor-only cat is low-risk.

My DH also doesn't clean it often enough, but I secretly hope it will make the cat like me more than him because right now he's her favorite.

  • Mine today is horrible & makes me feel like a horrible person, but here it goes. Need to get it off my chest.

I am worried my Mom's health is going to spoil the joy and excitement of my pregnancy.

She got diagnosed with pancreatic cancer a few days after my bridal shower last year & wasn't recovered from her surgery enough to really be a part of the wedding day. Without going in to all the details she kinda made part of my special day about her. She has a way of always doing that.

She's not well again now again & I just feel like her health is going to be a constant strain & worry & take away from another major life event for me.

  • @megstervt My cat loves my husband, too!  Even though my husband hates him, and pushes him away, and sticks him in his little kennel!  If both of us are sitting on the couch, the cat goes to him, EVERYTIME!

I have read that cats usually like those who are cold towards them haha. Maybe if your husband wants to try to be all cuddly the cat will run away haha

  • To me it is disrespectful. Excited/scared or not, if you do not have the 2 seconds it takes to scroll through the first page, then why should I spend several moments of my times reading your post and responding. Especially when I get a well thought out answer to the PP.

    @pugsandkisses

Don't you think disrespectful is a bit strong here? No sweat off my back but I wouldn't take the bump so seriously that you feel disrespected by some unknown posting about their pregnancy.

No. It is disrespectful. While even though this is online, this is still a community. Certain rules still apply. It is like you waited to post and get answered and some on jumped ahead of you, your post and therefore is pushing your post down.

It has nothing to do with taken TB to serious or not.  I have been on The Knot, the Nest and TB since 2005 (maybe 2006), and many other people find it rude too. Plus any other online community/forum too.
But they don't.. that's the thing.  There are no rules except TOU which are moderated by the bump admins.  Maybe bump board cultures suggest to follow guidelines but there are no rules in regards to that.
