SA: Count/Motility = Good/Decent; Morphology = 6%
HSG: All clear

DH is now also taking a multi-vitamin with Zinc. Course of action is still medication and TI
@whileibreatheihope and @tbyars07 both of you mention two follicles or embryos that each split. Do either of you know if that happens spontaneously or if a fertility drug made that more likely to occur?
@junicek I'm not sure. I was under the impression that most "natural" twins are an embryo that split - so I'd imagine it is due to it happening spontaneously. I think the fertility drugs just run a higher risk of multiple follicles catching therefore causing multiple embryos. I could be way off base but I don't think fertility drugs make an embryo more likely to split - just more follicles for embryo's to be created from.
I have no sound basis on this. It could very well be the opposite! It's just how I imagine it.
Me: 26 DH: 27 TTC: October 2014 IUI #1: July '15 - BFN; IUI #2: Aug '15 - BFN; IUI #3 Oct '15 - BFN; IUI #4: Nov '15 - BFP 1st Beta: 57. 2nd Beta: 177. 3rd Beta: 6563 12/18/15: 6week Ultrasound - ONE STICKY LITTLE NUGLET!!!
junicek & tbyars07 - I actually specifically asked my RE about this. The fertility drugs are likely to cause fraternal twins (2 different eggs being fertilized) due to typically having more follicles. They said I was NOT at a higher risk for identical twins (one egg splitting) because of the drugs.
@MrsHandler thank you so much for updating us! Congrats on your decision and so happy you guys were able to make a decision that was right for your family! We are all cheering you on for a happy and healthy pregnancy!
@MrsHandler : I've been following the thread from the beginning, and I'm so amazed at your strength through all of this. You definitely didn't have an easy decision ahead of you, but you made the one that would work for your family. Congrats on the babies to come!
I'm also amazed at how kind, supportive and respectful everyone has been here. On other boards, this could have easily went downhill with judgemental and awful comments. But not here. This community is really something we should all be proud of!
Hope to keep on hearing about your progress @MrsHandler!! I'm wishing you nothing but 4 happy and healthy babies!
I'm so happy for you! You seem to be settling into an amazing mom already! I will keep you in my positive thoughts and prayers eveynight! Good luck through your journey.
I appreciate you sharing these personal details and updates with us. I personally never thought about the reality of higher order multiples with my IUI coming up. Because of what you shared, i had an honest conversation with DH about what we are willing and able to handle in regards to multiples. Although it's hard to open yourself up, you are positively impacting others in the community. Thank you!

@MrsHandler glad you're finding additional support from other quad moms! So happy for you and I hope your family adds to your team. Clearly you inspire those around you. Your strength and the supportive responses on this thread make me so proud to be a member of this community.
Thank you all for the positive feedback! We told both sets of parents last night and after the initial shock, they were so excited and ready to do whatever it took to get us to where we need to be!
@MrsHandler I am really glad that I came across your post. I am struggling right now to decide whether to go through with IUI with 5 mature follicles. While I really want to to have a child as soon as possible and not skip a cycle, hearing your story makes me question moving forward with this cycle. I can't imagine having 4 children at once, but I don't know if I could cope with selective reduction. I think stating that I want 2 babies and not 4 is an easy statement, but when you have to choose which ones not to have I don't think I could do it.
Thank you for sharing your story. I think you are an amazing person and will be a wonderful mother to all of your children.
@MrsHandler Thank you for sharing your story. Congratulations on your babies! I can't wait to read on more updates of them please! You are incredibly brave!
