  • I too have never had Fritos pie (or heard of it until this thread). Sounds deeeelish though!

    Whaaaatttttt

Also if you don't watch America's Next Top Model (my guilty pleasure) do yourself a favor and Google Nyle DiMarco. He was all up in my dreams last night.

Omg I loooove Nyle! He's gorgeous and I had a dream about him the other night, but not the fun kind. I was signing to him, but since I only know toddler level sign language, it was nonsense lol.

Also, FIL says "beer stroke-me-off" every time someone says stroganoff. Every. Single. Time. He thinks it's hilarious.

So in Texas there's this big push to close abortion clinics. The images they showed included people's signs but also US pictures and videos and it was definitely got my pregnant fee fees.

  • I believe there is scientific evidence to back up the heartburn and hair combination. Not sure if they know why, but in pretty sure I read research that said their is a relationship there.

Blahh okay I'm finally caught up on THIS board, I need to go see everything I've missed in the others.

In regards to the shower I told her I can't make both. The one Jan 16th is a couples shower so I'm hoping she will have it later in the day so I can be there the whole time. I refuse to miss my cousins shower. She's due the week before me and we've been sharing this experience. She's also throwing my family shower for me.

The poop glitter thing I've been seeing go around for a while now. I feel like it must be fake or at least very heavily labeled with warnings to not actually eat it. Wouldn't that tear up your insides?

Anyone else dying of heart burn? My ribs literally hurt.

Ds1 and ds2 yes and they were hairy, this one not so much. He's going to be a bald chub.
@skruhmin I just googled the heartburn/hair thing. That's a new one for me, never heard it before!

Yep, I birthed a hairy little ape.  I'm pretty sure my cough coming back has something to do with the heartburn getting worse now.  I'm not looking forward to saying goodbye to pizza.  I've already said my farewells to orange juice.

TMI but fair warning.  Once you hit a certain size, just don't overeat, ever.  At 37 weeks, we had planned on going to dinner with friends.  I waited too long to eat (it took forever to be seated) so I was starved by the time we finally got our food.  I demolished my plate and a ton of chips with jalapeno ranch (we were at a Chuy's if you're familiar).  I woke up at midnight with heartburn so bad it made me throw up Chuy's everywhere with just one burp.  The beauties of pregnancy no one wants to mention...

    ChuY's like austin?

  • I realize I only have one child to compare with, but the heartburn was real with my son and he had a full head of gorgeous copper hair. I expect this one will as well, because I'm already sleeping on an incline.

  • I had pretty bad heartburn with DD (and it's starting again with this little girl) but DD was born with just a little bit of hair. She had a little bit of blond hair which surprised me since I was born with a full head of jet black hair.

Also, I've never heard of a frito pie but they sound like "walking tacos". That's what we called them where I grew up, in the Chicago suburbs.

  • For me it was true both of my boys had a head full of hair and I had horrible heartburn. I told my husband that of course now that we're having a girl she'll be bald since I haven't really had any heart burn at all.

All of my kiddos have been born with plenty of hair, but my first one is the only one I've had heartburn with (only time I've ever had heartburn in my life actually). And he is the only one who lost *all* of his hair after birth (but it grew back super thick and quick). This is my last chance at having a ginger baby – I know it won't happen, but one can dream …
And TMI here, but what is it about pregnancy that makes having to poop so much more uncomfortable?! Like I never have poop cramps during regular life, but holy crap while I'm pregnant, I mean, let just say that it's too reminiscent of labor sometimes; they are like freaking contractions! Ugh. (Sorry)

  • I'm hoping this baby is a ginger like my first. His hair was beautiful. This pregnancy is the weird one where I don't have the heartburn and I don't have to pee all the time. Not complaining since I've paid my dues with other pregnancies.

Whatever it is, sit in it and find something you will fall in love with. I recommend something you will be able to sleep in. I personally love my leather rocker/recliner - we picked one both my husband and I like - he will inherit it for football when we are done with babies. With ds1 I had a wooden glider with a footstool and I ended up hating it - our overnight sessions became so uncomfortable .

Why are there so many threads recently of "I did this was that bad"? I don't think the do it now ask questions later is the best approach to pregnancy hahah

@flowerpower5838 omgggg it won't post the URL but it's HP monthly Iron Ons for Onsies!!
  • Had pretty bad heart burn with ds. By 16 weeks ms had gone away completely and by 20 weeks heartburn had moved in. I had it constantly. By 28 weeks I was sleeping sitting in the recliner due to heartburn and hip pain. This time, I have been fighting heartburn from the moment I started being able to keep some food down.
That being said, ds came out almost bald and didn't grow for a long time. Right at 2 years old, we got his hair cut for the first time. He didn't really need it but we wanted it to look nicer as we were going to a wedding. Anyone who has a kid who's hair will not grow, I recommend getting them a hair cut. Salon woman said it would grow faster after the hair cut and it has. He is getting his 3rd cut, next week, in 6 months.
  • I'm bored but there is so much to do. Thanksgiving is in a week and half, the day after we begin our long move back to Illinois. So much to do... but all I feel like doing is covering up and playing on my phone
  • Just got back from urgent care, my poor little boy has strep throat. Again. 7 times in one year. Poor kid had a fever of 103 and was not doing well, and then tossed his cookies (well, fruit snacks) in the lobby of urgent care. Fortunately he's on antibiotics now. Hoping they kick in soon. Looks like we are on the Popsicle diet now, too.

Have they threatened to take out his tonsils? I used to get it a lot and when I w as a teen I got the "one more time this year" speach (like it was a choice)

I had my tonsils out in first grade because of how sick I would get at least once a month. It helped my out so much, and I'm pretty sure my sister had to have hers taken out around the same time, too. If that's the issue, it's so worth it to have the tonsillectomy done.

I'm all for getting those unnecessary kinds of things removed.  7 times in one year is crazy.  My LO is having his adenoids out as soon as he turns 2, and if the tonsils even start to cause problems, they'll get the boot too.

Hope your LO gets some relief soon :(

    Stupid bump.
  • @cmerribury I hope your LO gets better soon!
AFM, I have my chair kinda where I want it, but I spent the rest of my day napping and crocheting my newest baby hat. I also started another blanket. I think the next thing I will have to buy is sweat pants/pajama pants for myself. I just spent 20 minutes trying to find a pair of comfy pajamas for tonight- ended up with a pair of yoga pants and a huge t shirt because that's all I could find. My current sweats are starting to dig into my sides, and my smaller t shirts roll up over my tummy now. If I pull them down they constrict my arms so I can't move :(

I had mine out when I was 16 (tonsils and adenoids) because I remember spending so much time with strep, sitting on the couch drinking milkshakes doing homework from missing more school. Getting them removed was totally worth it. I hope little man feels better soon because that is the pits :(
