Would you consider is to be tacky to have car seat/stroller and bigger things like that on our registry? I don't expect anyone to purchase them, but I also want the completion discount. Is it tacky to have those things on there? Am I overthinking it? I mean if someone wants to buy them I wouldn't complain but I feel like car seats are something you should purchase yourself.

I don't think that's tacky at all. I have large items in my registry (though I'm most likely not having a shower) and it's both a checklist for myself and to get the coupon. I've always just bought smaller things from registries for showers I've been to. Don't Worry!
I care about yalls opinions so I'm asking here:

I agree, I have bigger things on our registry. We also have people who would most likely want a bigger ticket item like siblings and parents and in laws. Plus the completion coupon doesn't hurt either :-)

Thanks y'all make me feel better! I didn't really think about it until one of my friends was saying how she hates when people put those things on their registry because it seems greedy etc. I was like well shit I'm just trying to keep track.
@bntfroggie Stay strong!!! Just think the surprise will be way better when you're surrounded by people you love, compared to just peeking now and feeling guilty about it. But hell, what do I know... I'm team green, just livin' on the edge over here.

I think putting things like a PS4 on your baby registry would be greedy, or things for another child, etc. which I have seen before. But I don't think putting big ticket items on your registry is greedy at all! I mean, you need them for baby. Just be sure to have plenty of things in multiple price ranges. That's my only qualms with some registries (more bridal). Sorry that everything you want is crystalllll I guess I'll just get you one single napkin ring...

Def not. I had my car seat and a lot of bigger/expensive items on my registry with DS1. My hostesses got together and bought my car seat and the travel system. It was nice to have the completion coupon because I returned duplicates and used gift cars to buy some of the bigger things we didn't receive. I think as long as you have a variety of prices then its fine. I hate when people only register for expensive items like 50.00 and up and I was only planning on spending like 30.00. Those people usually get gift cards. I don't mind spending more on a close friend or family but if we aren't close you are probably getting a 25.00 gift card..LOL.
Not tacky at all. You never know if you are going to have a relative that will buy that for you - my parents bought our car seat off the registry. And if nobody does, then you get the discount, nothing wrong with that. If you are having a shower, make sure there are lesser items on there so that people can pick and choose what they want and not break the bank.

@bntfroggie you can do it! I was weak and caved. DD wouldn't shut up when we picked her up. I wanted to do a small reveal with herbut we were so excited and knowing ne with my stupidity would rub my belly and say something that would give it away- so we told lol. FIL is over the moon and every one else is just as excited too
Thanks for all the welcome wishes lol! I hope all the other appointments went/are going well!

@bntfroggie u had them put it in envelope until Dh got home from work... He was in the door 3 seconds before we opened it. But I was so proud I didn't peak all afternoon. You can do it!
@flowerpower5838 Mine started scooting around the crib (on his back) at 7 weeks..... Woke up to him screaming bloody murder because he had a leg stuck through one of the slats. Mesh bumper went up the very next day. I've read that kids with some acid reflux move around a lot in their sleep though. DS had a lot of silent spitting before I realized he had a milk intolerance. He still moves around a lot though in his sleep, so I have to assume it's just his personality.
And you know you're a nerd when you get overly excited that you answered the Final Jeopardy question correctly, when none of the semi finalists could.
You guys, I can't stop drinking milk (I had 1/4 gallon today, and totally could have had more but my husband started side-eyeing me) and my normally straight hair is curly now. That's all. I just needed someone to tell.
@charley15 congrats on healthy baby boy!! Love the name too!
@bntfroggie you have so much more will power than I do!
@flowerpower5838 I'm waiting in anticipation to hear your results.
My random tidbit for the evening which probably belongs on WTF board but felt I'd just put it here... I am so sick of this red starbucks cup crap....Both side of the "debate". I'm over it. My whole fb feed has been taken over by it for the last thee days.
Have to AW my youngest. If you say, "where's Jeremiah?" He covers his ears. It's pretty much the cutest freaking thing in the world.
And my super hero 4 year old who is permanently in a mask these days. This one he's in an iron man mask, wearing a Batman shirt, watching Spiderman. I love being a boy mom!
Do we just have amnesia when it comes to sleep issued with our kids? DS2 has been our "bad" sleeper and seems to go through nighttime wakeup stints about every 2 months. I only remember the 4 month wakeful period with ds1. Am I just forgetting that he was just as bad?!? DS2 was up at 3 screaming/crying. After a bottle, change, Advil finally fell back asleep at 5:20. Oy!

I would say yes, we definitely do. When my youngest has those nights (and this has happened with pretty much all of them) I'll say something to my husband about how I don't remember the previous one doing this. Every. Single. Time. His reply is "you say this with every kid we have, it's normal, let's go to bed" lol. Sorry you had a rough night though, I've been having a hard time with those lately and I've decided I'm just going to be a real peach when this one is born and I have to get up every few hours haha.
March '16 December Siggy Challenge - Favorite Christmas Movies/Quotes
I started off my morning annoyed because Xbox One decided to completely change their interface overnight. They immediately redeemed themselves by finally being backwards compatible to Xbox 360 games! Yay! Side note: Yes, I game with my husband lol that's one of our favorite "us time" activities.

That's fun! We used to play COD together a lot but we've been busy fixing up the house when he's actually home.
Anyone else feeling stuffed? I don't feel huge just like I ate 15 thanksgiving dinners. I haven't eaten yet today either lol
Back to reality today- 2 more days of work. Tonight DD and I are going out for pizza (since hubby is now on a self-proclaimed "diet" and I can't have it at home ) and going to pick out our first baby boy outfit!
Tomorrow DH and I are going out to dinner to celebrate...both the baby and my long overdue celebration of a new and better job . I can't wait!
February Siggy Challenge- Post pregnancy indulgences
Spent yesterday afternoon visiting DH's preschool class. So many 4 year olds! They kept sitting me down and trying to play doctor and poking my stomach so they could "make the baby come out and play." So cute. Except now my stomach doesn't feel well. Darn kids and all their germ sharing...

Funny story: a couple years ago I had a child in my preschool class who I caught taking his play kitchen knife, walking around to the girls and slicing their tummies. He also had a speech issue so I couldn't understand what he was saying. He finally came up to me and did it, and I was able to understand him say, "Here's your baby!"- he was giving all the girls C-sections and handing them their babies!

I had that feeling in bed last night. Like baby boy was standing up on my cervix and stretching up into my ribs. I could not get comfortable!

Kids say the funniest things. My 12-year old of a husband bought a Nerf bow and arrow set last night so he can play with our 4-year old who has one already. This morning he was building our son up to fight him tonight when we get home. 4-year old: "Let's play a game where I hit your penis with an arrow and then I win!" It was one of those I shouldn't have laughed (because laughing encourages) but was so unexpected and hilarious I couldn't not laugh. Where do they come up with this stuff?!?

@skruhmin Your boys are adorable! Jeremiah is the middle name of the one I'm cooking right now, good choice. My son is always saying things like that...I wasn't prepared for how boys turn EVERYTHING into a weapon, but I'm used to it now. We have lightsaber fights right before bath and he's always naked, so I usually try to bop his bottom with it...lots of funny comments have come out of that!
You can go ahead and add another tally to team blue! Baby is a healthy, giant headed baby boy. A/S went great.
The tech was doing her thing and then asked us if we wanted to know and we of course said yes. She pointed to the screen and said see? I said "What am I looking at?" because I just have a really hard time trying to decipher the scans. She announced baby is a boy and DH literally yelled "YES!!!" with his hand straight up in the air like he just won something and he totally scared the tech. And then he cried. So sweet.
