Now that i know we are having a boy, I have started nursery planning yay. I ordered a few samples of tempaper over the weekend to try around the room and decide which one to use. It seems like it arrived today and
Now I'm here all anxious to go home and try them!!!! Ahhhh! I'll post some pics later so you girls can help me out.

Ok just put then on the wall -so easy and easy to match the patterns too. Although I like all individually, I think I'll go with the bottom left (stripes) as it is the most baby-like. Will paint all walks a light gray and then use this tempaper on the wall behind crib.

I love the bottom right too, but finding it too dark for baby room.
I agree on bottom left - and it's not something that LO will grow out of quickly. You can redecorate without changing the wall color, furniture, etc. Just the accessories :D

ETA: creepy smiley because the was my best option and I really like accessories!

The good thing about tempaper is that you can remove it as easily as you put it on, whenever you feel like it. So if ever need to redecorate just peel it off and the "old wall" is intact underneath. :)

    @thaisac1 I was about to ask if tempaper was a Canadian term for wallpaper 8-}

I love that idea. When we renovated our house, I decided to paint an accent wall - it's exactly the same as what you have there color wise, except the stripes are wider and horizontal. I really like the horizontal because it feels like it widens the room significantly!

Edit/PS: Painting stripes SUCKS. Such a pain in the butt. You're smart.

I've never heard of this exactly, but it sounds like an awesome way to decorate my rental!

I like the bottom left too. It's "masculine", but still totally works for a baby's room.

Yes it's perfect because you can just peel it off when your lease is done!
  • Just for the record I do not work for tempaper, nor do I get royalties from them! Lol. I'm just excited to have an easy solution for an accent wall.

  • Bottom left is so cute! We don't have tempaper here or I would have considered it as well since we live in an apartment :P

  • @thaisac1 how big are the individual pieces?
  • edited November 2015

My DH keeps his hand cradled against the baby every night.. Twice now we've been about to sleep when he's gasped in shock and claimed to feel her. I'm almost twenty weeks and I still haven't felt anything myself. It's it possible that he's actually feeling her, or?

Typically speaking you'll feel "inside kicks" a couple weeks before you'll feel outside kicks, so I doubt he felt the baby move, but perhaps not impossible? Did you feel anything when he said this, like gas? Or maybe you moved and he doesn't know what to feel for?
I felt absolutely nothing, although to be fair I was on the very brink of sleep. XD
We were both very still though both times that it's happened, and I generally believe every movement in my stomach is just gas or hunger, so it's entirely possible I've been feeling her and not realising.
Edit: he was also pressing fairly hard on my tummy, not just holding it gently.

@thaisac1 how big are the individual pieces?

These are samples; I bought two samples of each pattern so I could put them together and see how easy it is to match the patterns, etc.

The actual tempaper comes in rolls, once you get the rolls you have to measure the height of your wall and cut out strips from the roll so you can apply each strip from top to bottom. You can use this to calculate how many rolls you need: https://www.tempaperdesigns.com/wallpaper-calculator  I estimated that I will need a little less than 2 rolls for my main nursery wall.

    Here's a video:

And here you can see the girl applying it, and then removing it:

  • @thaisac1 looks like I'm going to be asking for 2 rolls of temporary wallpaper for Christmas this year.. some of those patterns - DROOL.

I know, I kinda want to wrap my house in them. :D

I think I might actually do just that. These designs are amazing!
  • I'll be in Orlando saturday- Wednesday morning for a conference but will have a couple of free days when I can go to parks. I was excited about Florida weather. Then I checked the forecast for the days I'm there... My luck...

Thanks! I was liking the idea, but was thinking it was a no-go if I had to apply a million of those pieces haha.

What a cool concept!! I love the top left but for some reason I feel it's more girly... The bottom left will be perfect for a little boy nursery!

I'm over here thinking.. There is NO way in hell that it's only 30 degrees in Orlando in November. Damn you, rest of the world, for your use of the metric system and Celsius temperature scales for consistently making American me feel like a fool!

It rains all the time in FL. Brightside, may not actually last the whole day though.

Um I haven't looked at the forecast for this weekend, but it's entirely possible for it to jump from 90+ to 30 within 24 hours here. Disney is having a half marathon event this Saturday, so the parks will be slammed, especially since it's the last weekend of the food and wine festival. I'd go for universal if I was you in this case.

Edit: Just looked at the forecast. Mid 80's all weekend! When it says rainy like that just plan lunch during that time.

LOL as far as Im concerned only USA uses Fahrenheit.... Latin America, Canada and Europe use Celsius.
  • Celsius and metric system for the win! I always have to google it when you guys write measurements in inches and pounds.

I'm doing the wall behind the crib as my accent wall.

Baby will be sharing a room with my youngest stepson, and it's a loft room, so we don't really have a good accent wall there. But I'm thinking the wall behind our TV downstairs could use some sprucing up... :-$ Don't tell DH...

Oh I know, I live in a state where we can literally have every season in a 24 hour period (I'm talking heavy snow to shorts and sandals.. God bless Indiana) but her weather photo said HIGH of 30. (I then realized it was in Celsius so moot point on my part). :D

I know that the metric system is better theoretically and so much easier to learn, but damnit if it doesn't make my brain ache every time I try to make conversions.. Celsius on the other hand is just silly! Silly, I tell you!
  • I hate car shopping. Today I'm ready to just buy the damn vehicle, even though it doesn't have everything we wanted, because OMG car shopping is stupid and I just want it to be over with.
Then I checked some owner comparisons of this specific vehicle in 2wd and 4wd models. Oh. My husband is right- we really do need the 4wd in our climate and regular driving routes. Ugh.
This would be much easier if we could afford new instead of waiting for the right used one to come available...

  • I think Celsius and Fahrenheit can both be good but for different things. It's not like the US doesn't use the metric system: it' s used in science here. It makes sense to use it for things like science, but I think Fahrenheit is better for everyday purposes like talking about the weather. I feel like Celsius doesn't have enough increments to describe the outside temperatures with the level of distinction they deserve.
