I had an elective c-section, and plan on having another one. I'm not sure if things differ from hospital to hospital, but I was still able to have skin to skin right after the baby came out, my husband was able to cut the cord, and once the freezing wore off, I was up and having a shower and walking around. Walking around after a c-section is encouraged to prevent clots. I have no complaints about my c-section, and healed relatively quick! I think it all depends on the person. Obviously some will take longer to heal or have bad experiences. I just think bad experiences can happen with however you end up delivering.
I think it is definitely a personal opinion, and I'd heard different countries/cities all have different protocol's when having c-sections. I'm from Ontario Canada, and I had no issues scheduling my c-sections.
I just think it's best to have an open mind. Sometimes a c-section isn't possible because the baby comes to quick, and sometimes it is necessary. As long as the baby(ies) and mom are safe, that's the important part.
