We went to the annual festival in my college town today, which was fun, because when we went last year it was the day I began suspecting I was pregnant, 2 days later we got the BFP. I've missed this festival only once in the past 12 years. I loved taking LO to the campus and town where I went to college. He was happy the whole time and smiling at his many admirers.
Last weekend we went to the local farmers market and walked around the lake. The weather was gorgeous and LO slept in her stroller the entire time. We're thinking of going again this weekend and packing a picnic lunch to have by the water.
Is anyone having stranger danger issues with their LO? I can take my son to the store and he's fine but if I go to my in laws, sisters, anywhere or even if they come to my house & they hold him or if I put him down he screams and I mean SCREAMS... It's actually kind of embarrassing because it becomes hard to make him stop. I feel pretty lost with it

How old is LO? I'm assuming that you may be in the events leap. This is one of the "symptoms" or behaviors they exhibit during this phase.

He's 19 weeks. I haven't heard of events leap, I'll have to look it up! Thanks.

I second the Events leap. I don't even have people over and my LO screams bloody hell when I try to put him down. As evidenced by the fact I am typing one-thumbed because he is sprawled all over my other arm and hand. Its literally the only way he will nap right now.
We were going to try a baby music class today (a gift). It was at 5:30, and LO missed his 4:00 nap, so he just totally melted down. Also, they made us take our shoes off, and I was barefoot and have a Thing about being barefoot outside our house. I hate it. So we left after 2 songs. Will try again next Wednesday.
So today's outing was limited to a taproom. Womp womp!
We try to take a walk and go do something with him every day. If it's not nap time or missed nap time, LO can be quite the little social butterfly. If not... Events Leap kicks in, and Crumple Face happens. No Bueno.

Check out Wonder Weeks. There is a great book with this title and an app. You have to pay for the app, but it's pretty informative and according to a lot of the ladies (and myself) it's quite accurate.
My LO fusses in the car when he's tired, swallows air and then will start SCREAMING and gasping until you pull over, pick him up and he'll let out a huge burp. It doesn't seem to matter how long before I've fed him, burped him, etc. I'm 99% sure it's from him fussing. Anyways, it makes traveling quite the adventure.
Today we drove 30 minutes to church, pulling over 2-3 times to burp him and he finally fell asleep as we arrived. Instead of going in, which would wake him and then having to start the drive all over again in an hour, I just turned around and went home. Fail.
I wish! Instead you'll see my random-ass cart full of lean cuisines, ice cream, and ingredients for smores and nachos as DH was "sick" and requested both as comfort food. I'm on board! Baby, as you can see, was being incredibly judgy.
We took LO into town for the local businesses' trick or treat last night. He was adorable in his costume, and had the best time in his new-to-him forward facing stroller. We walked the length of town and back, and really enjoyed seeing friends from high school and all the little kids in their costumes (and, obviously, fielding all the compliments about LO).
It was a new experience for us as first-time parents, and so fun!
Went to a "baby and me" music class tonight, and LO loved it! It's a little awkward and hippie dippy (we danced with scarves at one point, for goodness sake!)... But it was fun to do something together with LO like that, and the teacher was great at explaining why the moves are important (cross lateral moves for brain development, etc). I could potentially make mom friends there, too... But I'm too tired.
PS, I'm not a tiger mom, this was a gift. We have 3 more classes gifted to us, and I'm looking forward to them. But if anyone's looking to get out of the house, I recommend it!
^^ Love swim classes! We have an indoor school that offers them free until 5 mos old. Then we'll probably wait and continue at a community pool in the Spring. (doing my own thing in the bathtub between now and then )

Re: Social Outings and Other Adventures!
How cute is he rocking his shades?
Ugh... "11 days until change"

At least he napped.
