When are you sharing the news?

I know all of us are early on in our pregnancies, and some of us haven't even been to the doctors yet. I'm curiouse when you plan to tell your close family, like parent and siblings. I always wait till after 12 weeks to tell most people, but with my others I have told my mom and dad pretty early on. I haven't told anyone yet this time around. I think I want to wait a little longer.

What are you're plans for sharing the news?

Hi! We told both sets of parents tonight, we did it over FaceTime because we like really far away. I told them I wanted to show them our Halloween costumes and I wore the skeleton shirt with the baby. My mom didn't get it lol, my sister had to tell her... But it was funny.
I am glad I told them, they were so happy.

We won't tell anyone else until I am showing.

I told a few friends and family already. I won't make any announcements until I'm 12 weeks along though. I won't announce at work until it starts to get obvious lol

I tell my mom everything, so DH & I went to surprise her tonight with the news. I felt bad because my Dad is away for the weekend (which I hadn't initially realized), but we went ahead with it. It meant a lot to her that we shared it right away...& good or bad, I always want her support. We'll tell my Dad as soon as he's home. Other family we will probably tell in a few weeks.

I don't know. I'm usually a pretty private person. I would like to hear the heartbeat first. My OB was thinking an u/s around 8 weeks? At that point, just my parents and in-laws. Everybody else at 12 weeks. At work, I could honestly see myself being much further along. Well, besides the fact I have to tell HR and boss for maternity leave lol.

Sigh. We told both our parents as soon as we found out, and I'm glad about that. I wanted to tell our siblings pretty soon too, but for some reason I'm hesitating. The pregnancy still doesn't feel real. I'm considering waiting for our u/s in 2 weeks. We'll just see what happens.

Everybody else can find out at 12 weeks or when I'm showing. Last time I announced on Facebook when we found out the gender and that's probably what I'll do this time.

My best friend asked me outright this week which is weird because we live in different countries so I told her. Last time I told my sister immediately but we have my Hs family coming in 2 weeks so will share with them first and then my family over Thanksgiving. It is my step dads birthday that weekend so I have a grandpa card bought and will put from DD and Baby 2 arriving in June 2016 and see will he notice!

We told parents and siblings last weekend. I've spent the last couple of days telling close friends about it personally. I went public with it today. I'm not a very private person. This pregnancy is a total shocker (iud failure) and has been giving me lots of anxiety. Keeping it a secret wasn't helping. I don't do well with secrets. I must say the outpouring of positive phone calls, texts, and Facebook messages have really helped me to relax and start to get more excited about it.

I told my sister the day I took my test, but only because we met up at a wedding that weekend. Want to tell in-laws and parent after our 2nd U/S next week, but probably waiting until thanksgiving to tell DH brother/sisters and their family...will be 12 weeks. Unfortunately work already knows because I am medically restricted from my job.

We don't plan on telling anyone until 12 weeks or at least until after my ultrasound at 8 weeks. Only DH's urologist knows, lol. We had to call him and give him the surprising news. DH had vericocele surgery in August and wasn't expecting to do another SA until 3 months later, in November. We wanted to get some insight on to how this could have been possible (his SA stats were terrible)!

Although, I may tell a few coworkers that know about our situation earlier. I'm not sure how to keep this in for 8 more weeks!!

I've told my best friend because we talked about my TTC daily lol. DH doesn't want to tell anyone until after our first appointment (November 6th) and it's killing me! They scheduled our appointment for 8 weeks according to my LMP but according to FF and my O date I'll only be 6w4d. We plan on telling our parents and siblings over dinner that night or that Sunday. Luckily I have you ladies

Only 2 friends of mine know so far. I pretty much want to tell the entire world lol, but I need to at least hear the heartbeat first before telling any more people. I'm trying to wait until week 15, which is the week of Christmas. I want the announcement to be their gift.

I've told the people I'm closest too already (I'm 6w6d). I plan to announce it to everyone after my appointment on November 5. I can't wait longer than that

We are planning on telling our family and friends on Christmas morning (I think I will be 14wks by then and we are going to get a 3d u/s to find out the sex, so we will reveal both then, I think, i'm not 100%)

We always wait until 12wks to tell anyone. My sister warned me (she knew we were ttc) this time to tell her as soon as I knew, but I cant tell her and not my mom, so she's going to have to wait until Christmas too.

We've told a few close friends. My parents will find out when they visit in a couple weeks! We'll have to call my in-laws. Everyone else can wait until Christmas when we visit home. For now, I'm not planning to do a FB announcement.

Not sure sex is determinable at 14 weeks, I was under the impression it wasn't really visible until 17-18 weeks at least.

We told our parents at 4 weeks, siblings at 5 weeks and three other very close family member's on the Mr.'s side at 6 weeks. It's just the way the timing worked out. We will be telling grandparents after our 10 week appt and family/friends around Thanksgiving. I won't do social media until work knows and that'll be after 1st tri is over.

We told my parents right away at 4 weeks, they have been DYING for a grandchild for years now and we are very close. I wanted them to know so I would have their support no matter what happens. I was a little worried about hurting them if something does go wrong but they said they really want to know everything and be there for us. My mom cried, it was so fun to tell them. I plan to tell people slowly, my brother the next time I see him, then my grandma around thanksgiving. Our plan is to send a Christmas card announcement to extended family and friends then full announcement and work right before Christmas. But it's killing me, I have been married almost 10 years so this is a long time coming and I want to tell everyone!

If all goes well we are shooting for thanksgiving for family which would be 10 weeks. Then coworkers the next week and publicly soon after that.
I would tell family sooner but I want to do it in a fun way because we might bed one after this one.

Christmas. So about 17 weeks.

A few people at work know (not the boss) since I'll need help due to some minor aspects of the job presenting me opportunities to do some unreasonable heavy lifting but otherwise, the moms find out on Christmas when they open their framed scan pic and the rest of the world finds out soon after when the pregnancy announcements arrive in the mail.

Christmas! I am 7 weeks now and haven't even told my hubby! It's our first baby and really want to surprise him and capture his reaction. We have a photo shoot today! He thinks we are taking "Christmas" pictures, but little does he know is that he's going to find out he's gonna be daddy instead! I cannot wait! I've told my parents and siblings and a few friends. But everyone else will not find out until Christmas. It will be my parents-in-law first grandchild and I am planning to give them a special gift in front of all his family. It will be 2 coffee mugs that each say "you're going to be a grandma/pa" along with an ultrasound of the baby:) I am so excited!

I feel impulsive reading all these replies! H was the first to know, I sent him in to read the test. My dad lives with us, so after we told our 4 yr dd, she ran and told him. Later that day we went public. This is our 3rd though so it's like "oh yay, another one!" Lol I get the 1st one being the most special.

Well my fiancé told people soon as I told him like he got on the phone lol which I was shocked. After I told him I wanted to wait till at least 10 weeks he thinks it's all fine.

We've told out parents but not telling siblings until after we've seen a doctor. I work with my brother and would hate it if anyone said anything in the staff room and he had to lie. I'll tell everyone else and work just before Xmas when we get to the 3 month mark. Not making a Facebook announcement - I am keeping Facebook for me and pregnancy/ baby will not be mentioned!

I'm telling anyone that I would also want to tell if something went wrong. People I know would be there to give love and support.

My focus right now though is telling DH first. He's out of out town and I found out the day before he left. I didn't want to be like, "have a good flight! Oh by the way..."

But we already had planned that I would join him at the end of his work trip and we will have a one week vacation traveling around Germany. So I will tell him sometime during our trip!

I told my mom and my mom told my dad. I didn't even tell her in a cute way, because it was a shock and I needed to tell someone and DH was at work. She asked to tell my dad so I said okay.

Edited because I wasn't finished. We will tell SIL probably after our first Ob appointment. That's probably also when we'll tell DS. The rest of the family probably at Christmas.

As far as work and social media? We will wait until I'm showing.

My husband and I are waiting until christmas. Both of our families have a big get together with everyone. We'll give them each their personalised gifts at the parties:) it'll be the first grandchild for both of our parents! We got 3 months into our pregnancy last year and everyone already knew, we lost the baby right after that so we are waiting until 16 weeks this time to tell anyone.

I am only 5.5 weeks, but we told our immediate families this weekend. We will wait till our first doctors sppt, which isn't until 11 weeks, to tell most people though. I don't plan to post anything on social media until after 20.

I told a close friend. Otherwise we will tell our families when they are all here for DS first birthday. Friends will be after Thanksgiving. I may tell my boss a little sooner but otherwise work the same time as friends.
