Took the weekend off from bumping, and I feel so behind! Not sure what's going on with closing threads....I've got a lot of catching up to do! Hope everyone had a great weekend and that you are enjoying the fall weather (depending on where you live!)
@venniep87 Welcome! June 15 is the best group out there!
I skipped out on going out to pizza with DH, DS, and our house guest tonight. They left 15 min ago, I'm putting LO down for the night right now then grabbing a glass of wine and watching one of my girly shows on DVR.
DS has also started protesting nap time since we took his pacifier away. I use to count on those three hours to give me some sanity and maybe an hour or so of alone time if I was luck enough to get them both to sleep at the same time. My solution? He's now going to do 3 full days of preschool instead of 3 half days. They all have to lay down for an hour at school after lunch even if you're not tired. Momma needs a break. It's well worth the additional $64 in my eyes.
So its fire safety week at preschool. I asked DS (3.25) what he learned. "Find a grownup and roll" and he proceeded to do somersaults. Then he explained how firefighters are scary because they wear goggles. Fast forward to a giant pee accident in the kitchen, "MOM, MOM" and I'm thinking another emergency is coming. "MOM, DO WE HAVE WORKING FIRE DETECTORS??" Welp, I am elbow deep in pee my son, but yes as a matter of fact we do. Kids are funny. And our preschool is awesome.
@henrytviii I totally remember a phase where I thought the house would burn down. I'd check all the plugins before bed even though I didn't really know what to look for. It was due to a movie
@janit368 a phase? I still do that. We had a gas leak it our old apartment, so since then I am constantly checking the stove and unplugging things before I leave or go to bed. Couple that with making sure the doors are locked and I'm a regular nut job.

How scary!! If something actually happened I'd be rechecking too
Depending on which way my lo is sleeping in the crib she will either turn her head and stare at the monitor or turn on her side and turn her head as much as possible to look at the door.. It is so cute! She knows I'm watching her (maybe) the picture is her staring at the door
Anyone else have a half written draft in every thread? I frequently start writing a comment and start boring myself halfway through.
Also I'm in the waiting room at the dentist but I can't completely enjoy the quiet time because I'm going to get in trouble. It's been a long time since my last appointment and I don't floss.
@mellymar I heard that on the radio this morning, and they said the guy sitting next to her didn't even know it was happening. wtf?
Unless he was asleep I don't see how he didn't know, there were 4 flight attendants all up around that seat in the snippet of video I saw. Maybe he was on the other side of the isle and the attendants were in the way? Otherwise, that guy's clueless.
I started my new job this week. Trying to be a good teacher and not knowing how to decorate my room I decided to use class pets. I came in this morning and the hamster already died. We have been feeding it and watering him everyday but he wasn't eating. The weirder thing was when I left yesterday one of my students had asked to see the animals. I had joked that it was fine but I better come back tomorrow and see them all alive. And no I don't think he killed it. I told the 1st graders that the pet ran away cause I didn't have the heart to tell them.

Our 5th grade class hamster are two of her babies and it was minority traumatizing. Good call on fibbing! You sound like a wonderful teacher!
@virginiaunicorn11 I got so, so upset at that lady on the names board who proudly stated that she's essentially a racist. I'm shaking I'm so mad. And she has a kid. I hate that anyone can have kids.

Whoa! Go over to wear pink on Wednesdays and tell me how to find that. I've left the names board alone for a couple days

Ha-ha, yes, to the half written replies. Then by time I get back to it, its like 5 days and 100 posts behind.
And I'm dreading my next dentist appt too, as my flossing has seriously suffered in the last 4 months.

LOL!! I have half written replies all over these threads...mostly because I start when I'm super tired and either don't make sense or sound like a complete brat. Glad I can at least begin my bitchy thoughts on here and have sense enough to stop (on here and in real life) :-)
I despise going to the dentist. My gums always bleed and I have really sensitive teeth so the rest of cleaning isn't fun either. Glad I'm not the only one!
I was an RDA before I got my RN, and I love getting my teeth cleaning and visiting the dentist.. The deeper they dig the better! It feels so good like a massage... Am I the only one???
Speaking of the dentist, he wants to take out one of my wisdom teeth. Has anyone else had one removed? Will I need help with the kids the next day?
I had both of my wisdom teeth on the bottom removed when I was 16. I was totally fine the day of. Sore in the mouth, but fine to move around. However, this was before they became impacted. Since you're might be, the healing will probably be different, but I don't see you having a problem the following day. The day of you will probably be groggy from the anesthesia.

Yes.
Just kidding! I don't hate the dentist and I like the clean feeling afterward, but I get so bored throughout. I can't sit still.
I haven't gotten my hospital bill for LO's birth yet. Normal? I got one earlier on for LO's charges but I can see my EOB's on my insurance website and I know there are more coming. Takes forever apparently...
The 4 month leap "mood swings" are no joke. LO rarely really cries, she just whines. Lately she will go from happy, smiling to full on crying, back to smiling. I feel like I'm dealing with a PMSing teenager.

Sorry for the poor man's siggy...ticker won't load regardless of how many tips I read.
